Based in the non commercialised village of Pervolia, the perfect place to escape mass tourism, there are tavernas and a very "local" feel. Restaurants, quaint tavernas, bars, and friendly locals lace the cobbled streets. The Summer evenings are a treat when they close the village to traffic and you can experience mingling with locals and enjoying traditional Cypriot entertainment.

Cyprus has a Mediterranean climate β€” the sun shines year-round, summers are long and dry and winters are mild.Temperatures are high in summer, reaching the 30s (Celsius) in July and August, but the sea breezes cool the coastal areas. Winter temperatures can be in the teens and 20s but rarely drop below 10 degrees. Winter is colder in the Troodos Mountains and brings some snow β€” it is possible to ski in the mountains in the morning and sunbathe on the beach in the afternoon.

If you are travelling with children you can visit WaterWorld or The Camel Park.

The Larnaca area, only 15 minutes away has many historical sites including churches, museums and local arts exhibitions and concerts. It is also home to the world famous Salt Lakes with its Flamingos. It is an ideal location to visit other parts of the island with its fast access to the main "A" road network. The ancient town of Larnaca is a popular starting point for travel around the beautiful island of Cyprus. The main international airport is here and Larnaca flights set down tourists keen to explore the many sunny beaches that surround the resort. This is the hub for Cypriot summer holidays: excellent weather, warm clear seas, sandy beaches and palm trees. The watersports are also good, and the area is popular with divers and snorkellers, especially around the harbour where the wreck of the Zenobia sits.

Most holidaymakers visiting Cyprus arrive from flights to Larnaca and head straight to the main beach resorts. But to do so is to miss much in this old city. While the modern day town has spread a long way, with plenty of hotels and restaurants sprawling from the beach, the old city centre remains in good condition. The Byzantine Church of St Lazarus is in the town’s centre and dates to the 9th century. After visiting, take a stroll along the seafront promenade, which is one of the most attractive in the country, lined with palm trees

If you have transport, it is also worth exploring some of the nearby villages. Less full of tourists than Larnaca itself, towns such as Lefkara or the small villages in the Troodos Mountains are all easily accessible in a day.

  Returned to Pervolia after 19 year gap. Village had changed little, people still friendly and helpful, nice atmosphere in the evenings. Felt safe and relaxed. Good variety of restaurants and adequate shops and supermarkets. Easy walking distance to village and nearest pebble beach. Good bus service to Larnaca stops nearby. Clean, comfortable apartment with efficient aircon. Good size well equipped rooms but bathroom extremely small. Balcony overlooked main road but didn't deter us from having breakfast and evening meals outside. Traffic not a problem. Nice swimming pool, very quiet during our stay. We would definitely return but only as a couple, or possibly with young children, due to size of bathroom.

  loved the village, very friendly and quiet.
  The appartment was excellent, very stylish interior, clean with a nice balcony, ideal for eating breakfast.
  Fanyastic location so near the airport makes it a hassle free transfer, also good location for exploring local attractions.
  We thoroughly enjoed our stay and will be returning in the near future.

  Stayed at the apartment mid-May 2010. Only a short taxi trip from the airport. Everything was great. Apartment well equipped and good position. Close walking distance to superb restaurants and village and not too far from sea. Enjoyed it so much going again this year in March.

  Relaxing holiday in Pervolia, Cyprus

  We picked this location as it was convenient for the airport and in an unspoilt area of Cyprus which is typically Greek. The area is quiet but close enough to Larnaca for shopping if you need it and close to the motorway network if you want to go further afield.
  Pervolia village is great with a nice selection of bars and restaurants, Greek, Chinese and English, the only problem being which one to go to as food is good and not expensive, we particularly liked the art Cafe and Soutos Tavern.
  The locals are all very friendly and helpful and the weather even in November is good.
  the apartment we stayed is was like new and very comfortable with a pool area with Jacuzzi and a roof terrace which is very private and with good views of the surrounding area.
  We definitely are going back and have already booked for the end of March and planning another visit probably in September. Highly recommended.
