Description from the owner
We are situated next to an 18th-century villa, about 100 m. away from the Adige river and the "Camminata Alzaia," a path joining Verona and Ponton, ideal for walking or cycling. In front of the house there is an old "aia" - where in the past the farmers used to beat the wheat - with a barbecue where you can enjoy the peacefilness of the place, while preparing a picnic with your friends. There is a wonderful view of the river from the house. The main road is approximately 100 m. away, and from this road you can take a public APTV bus to go to Verona.
Parking available. The house has been completely renovated and the 150 m2. apartment h...Read more

We are located in Valpolicella, in Pescantina, only a few kilometers away from Verona, in the North East of the province of Verona. The house is in a splendid green area by the river Adige, easily reachable by car following state road VR-TN, or by APTV public bus (Verona-Caprino line). See Verona’s public transportation website Azienda Provinciale Trasporti Verona. The house is part of an 18th-century villa, surrounded by meadows, an orchard, and ancient trees. You will be surprised by the convenience of being next to the roads, while enclosed and safe inside the walled premises. The sound of the river Adige will lull you, day and night, transporting you along the “Camminata Alzaia,” which you can follow by foot or by bicycle.
We are in Valpolicella, country of the Amarone and Recioto wines. Local wine cellars are open for wine tasting. You can find a list of wine cellars at website of Cantina Sociale Valpolicella .
We are 7 km away from Verona, the town of Romeo and Juliet and of the famous Roman amphitheater “La Arena di Verona,” used for concerts and operas; we are 17 km away from Garda Lake, one of the most important tourist spots in the North of Italy, where you can practice several water sports, such as sailing, surfing and scuba diving. One of the closest towns is Vicenza, approximately 50 km away from Verona.
It is famous for its goldsmith work and for architect and sculptor Palladio´s villa. Padova (80 km. away) and Venecia (120 km away) can easily be reached by train.

What Past Guests Are Saying
La Bella Italia
We stayed in this house with a group of 7 young people.
Check-in was very easy, done by the host. The house itself is a typical Italian-style home. Every bedroom has its own bathroom, the living room is nice (although we didn't use it very much, the weather was too nice), comfortable kitchen, a nice terrace to spend the evening. All facilities are available. The only thing missing is a swimming pool (there is a waterpark 5 minutes away, persicum park).
Location is great when you want to visit cities (Verona, Venice) or lake Garda itself. Convenience stores are very close.
In short, a nice home in a great location!

The Warmest of Welcomes
We actually stayed in Casa Sirius this year, but we have also stayed next door in Casa antares in the past (last year). To summarise, these are two excellent houses that provide the most comfortable of bases for visiting Verona and/or exploring the Lake Garda region.
Regarding this year's stay in Casa Sirius:
The house was clean and tidy, and had all the amenities we needed (for a family of four). The kitchen, though smaller than ours at home, was certainly large enough to allow me to cook hearty breakfasts and the occasional evening meal. The fridge was easily large enough to store all the food (and drink!) we bought at the local supermarket. The lounge/diner was comfortable enough: a table and four chairs for indoor dining, and a sofa and an armchair for relaxing and watching TV. Each of the two bedrooms had its own en-suite bathroom - a real joy for the morning ablutions - with a good selection of towels provided. The beds themselves were very comfortable.
The very friendly owner (Luisa) was on hand to welcome us on arrival and to wave us off on departure. She also kept in regular touch to make sure we had no problems, and to provide us with information to help us to enjoy our holiday to the fullest. Knowing that we are lovers of the local wine, she even arranged for us to visit a local wine-maker for a wine-tasting; the wines were superb, so we bought a few cases to take home with us.
Casa Sirius is 7km from Verona and about 20-25km from Lake Garda - both easily accessible by car. Please do take time to visit the many towns on the lake, it's well worth it.
For food shopping, we used the Rossetto supermarket in Parona, but there are others nearby (ask Luisa). For restaurants, I would advise avoiding Verona centre (they're expensive), and consider the many good ones in the towns on Lake Garda. Or ask Luisa.
Overall, I think I can safely say that this was one of the best holidays we have ever had. I'm sure we'll be back soon.

A perfect place to relax in the heart of rural Verona!
A really wonderful place full of character and charm with a perfect hostess. Easy access to local shops by foot as well as on-the-doorstep, trouble free bus rides for getting about. We would highly recommend a stay there.
Qui hanno alloggiato dei nostri dipendenti che per motivi lavorativi vi hanno soggiornato circa due mesi.

Best regards to you all.
Beautiful villa overlooking the River adige
We had a wonderful week at Casa antares. It is a beautiful, comfortable, villa with a large garden in secure grounds. The owner, Luisa, stays in the adjoining house and provided a very warm welcome on arrival and was on hand to provide advice and recommendations whenever they were needed. The location is excellent for exploring the surrounding area including all Lake Garda and the town of Verona. Further afield we had day trips to Venice (Just over an hour) and Innsbruck where we went up a glacier (3 hours). The children loved Gardaland and Movieland park, both very close.A highlight for all but the youngest, was going to see Carmen at the artena.

Many thanks Ritchie!
Thanks to all!
