The photos are accurate ! If anything they don't quite capture the jaw-dropping views from this place ! We have been coming to St. Thomas for over 30 years, always renting a condo. I so wish we had discovered Villa Margarita a long time ago. The house is not the Ritz Carlton, but it's plenty comfortable and very spectacular !
The kitchen is great, the bedrooms are fine, with good mattresses. The main family room is awesome with killer views, comfy furniture and a good entertainment center with a very good selection of movies. The 3 bedrooms are in a separate little house which is great for those early risers. There is a wonderful breezy shaded area and stairs up to the incredible pool which is a level above the house! We continued to be blown away every moment we were there. All this is in a private gated community with a big secure entrance gate into this compound. We felt totally safe at all times and the privacy was wonderful! And gorgeous Magan's Bay is 5 minutes away ! The only negatives were that there is no aC in the main house and there are only window units in 2 of the 3 bedrooms. The owner suggests that you leave the doors (with screens) open and let the constant breeze do the cooling...and that works OK. I personally like aC and it worked fairly well in the master. We got no complaints from our grown kids who took the other 2 bedrooms. Also, the sliding glass doors are a bit hard to operate - especially to lock and unlock. Altogether, one of the 2 or 3 coolest places we have ever stayed - and we have traveled the world ! Very nice owner too ! Highly recommend this place !

As many other reviews, we can only confirm. The place is absolutely among the best. We visited some of the resorts on the Island, and enjoyed going back to the quietness of our "home".
Villa Margarita is clean, well equipped and the views and the sound of the ocean is unmatched. The "jungle" in the backyard is beautiful too, and gives some funny experiences. We had a curious Gekko visting us nearly every night, and a couple a leguan looking at us at the pool. If you dont like them they will go away if you say buuh :-)
The guide provided by Jennifer on restaurants, shpopping, supermarkets etc. was very helpful. And yes, the North Side Bistro is worth a visit.
We never had to turn on the aC, because of the sea brease.
On arrival, Elliot was very helpful (delayed and layed arrival), and made us pass a supermarket to get the basic necesseties.
Location is very good. It is quiet, but not more than a 15-20 mins easy drive from whereever you want to go (Charlotte amalie, Red Hook, Beaches, etc). Magens Bay is 5 mins away (a top 10 National Geographic rated beach in the world). Crowded ? No, even before the day-tourists from the cruiseships go back in the afternoon, you will still have lots of space.
As a family we do travel a lot. If you want a nice, well equipped, quiet place with beautiful views, close to everything on St. Thomas; this is it.
Driving on St. Thomas is easy and in a slow pace. But I will recommed a car with a certain size engine. We had a Ford Focus the first day, and it just drove backwards on some of the hills. The Ford Fusion we had the rest of the holiday made the job with no problems.
A tip - if visiting tourist attractions like diving or kayaking, go late in the afternoon. All the tourists from the cruise ships are gone, and you will have it alle by yourself.
Enjoy your stay. -

The bedroomsvall have great sea views. The master shower can see down the cliffs where the sea waves break against the rocks... It's mesmerizing. The pool is alittle cool.. But really refreshing. The whole house is so private along with the pool area.. I can't wait to go back!!

I stayed at Villa Margaria for a week with my husband, 2 boys (ages 10 and 15) and my in-laws (both in their 70s). It was a tremendous week, and the villa played a large part in that. It was not just a home base but also a real home for us while we were on St. Thomas. The villa is immaculately clean, beautifully furnished, and helpfully stocked with everything we could want. The linens in particular were of very high quality, and even my in laws praised the quality of the beds. Most of the kitchen basics were already there (spices, oils) as were cleaning supplies, paper goods, and trash bags (all things that I"m accustomed to having to furnish myself). Jennifer even provided beach chairs and a cooler we used when we drove the 5 minutes to Magen's beach (amazing!). The rooms in the villa are not huge, but except for the twin bedroom it does not feel crowded.
The 3 bedrooms are in a separate building from the kitchen/dining/living room, but the entire villa is built on a deck and every room overlooks the spectacular ocean. There is a rock formation on the cliff below the house where the water churns, and you get a constant, soothing sound of the sea. The salt water pool is small but very clean, and it also has incredible views. Jennifer provides floats and pool toys, which my boys loved.
Jennifer was a great owner. She met us the day we arrived, and not only gave us a tour of the villa (showing us all the ins and outs) but also showed us where the stores were so we could stock up. She is a bit strict about water conservation, but not without reason. She left lots of materials, including a fat binder with lots of recommendations for things to do.
St. Thomas is a beautiful island, volcanic, hilly, and lush. It has some truly lovely beaches (Magen's Bay and Sapphire Bay were favorites), including a tiny pocket beach we could walk to from the villa (a hilly walk!). The snorkeling on St. Thomas was not only disappointing but sad, since we saw so much dead and damaged coral (especially on Coki beach, where cruise ships send their passengers). We spent a day on St. Johns, where the snorkeling was better (but still not as good as Turks & Caicos or Grand Cayman, but those are flatter/more arid islands). Still, St. Thomas was a lovely getaway, with lots of good restaurants and sights. (Yes, we had banana daquiris at the top of the mountain, but it turns out Drake's Seat is just a park bench by the side of a road.) There was a full moon while we were there, and the view of the moonlight on the ocean by the villa was something we'll never forget.
If you're going to St. Thomas, I highly recommend Villa Margarita! -

Nice house! Awesome view !! Always breeze so no air-conditioning needed. The wi-fi connection is not that great (I think it's just a matter of weak antenna signal). Wild beach is just 10 -15 min walking distance!

Our family stayed at Villa Margarita in mid November. The home has the most fantastic views imaginable!! We actually set our alarm clock to watch the sunrise. The home is very accomodating and we soon found that it is the perfect location to travel to all the "hot spots." The home is very private and it has everything you need to make your vacation a stress free stay. We didn't use the pool only because we were too busy exploring the nearby beaches! I'd also like to thank Jennifer for being so kind, cooperative and patient. My husband and I had intended on this being a second honeymoon trip, but at the very last minute, we decided we wanted to being our two daughters. Jennifer was very understanding an helpful with the last minute change. We loved St. Thomas and Villa Margarita!!

Villa Margarita is beautiful and the property sits on the side of the cliff. Every single room on the property has a phenomenal view of the sea and a small key island.
As soon as we got out of the airport, the house manager showed us the way to the villa, which we would have never found on our own. The villa is in a private gated community atop the St. Thomas island in the area near Magen's Bay (featured in National Geographic).
The villa has a separate building for the kitchen and living area. This was perfect for the early risers to begin their day, without waking up the company that wanted to sleep in til noon.
The fantastic private pool, overlooking the sea, was perfect for the late night social gatherings.
The breeze from the sea kept the rooms cool, especially since the middle of the three bedrooms did not have air conditioning.
The best restaurant on the Island, the Old Stone Farm House, is only down the street from the villa. All their guests are invited to visit with the chef to help their clients make their decisions on the excellent food. It was the perfect setting to get engaged!
We looked forward to returning to the Villa Margarita everyday, after beach exploring and snorkeling. Villa Margarita was the perfect home away from home. -

Our stayed started with Ray meeting the six of us @ the airport. We got our rental car and followed him to the house. The girls rode with Ray and he shared a ton of info. I'm not sure we would have found the house without him. Once we arrived @ the house Ray went through eveything with us and gave us a ton of tips for the week. The view from the home is breath taking. Each room has it's own ocean view and to listen to the waves @ night was wonderful. I have to say we spent a fair share of our vacation hanging out @ the house. We had everything we really needed right there. The guy's spent a ton of time haning out on the deck watch Sea Turtles and Iguanas below. The gals spent a ton of time by the pool. Once we got out and about we found the town very easy to get around. I would love to come back to Villa Margarita. Thanks Jen and Ray for sharing your home with us and taking such good care of us. I have to say you take very good care of your guest which just adds to the experience.

Had a great stay at Villa Margarita! If you are looking to get away from the cruise ship crowds, this is the place. Outstanding views, peace and quiet, relaxing atmosphere in a gated, secure community. Magen's Bay is near and a wonderful place to spend the day. We took the house beach chairs and towels which was very handy. The kitchen is very functional and we used the grill several times. Be prepared to drive on the left and on somewhat tricky roads. You get used to them pretty quickly, though. Be sure to watch for different types of birds from the balcony. I highly recommend Villa Margarita and the owners want to make sure everyone enjoys their stay!

Left on 10/07/2010 for a stay in August 2010
We stayed at the Villa for the whole month of august. It is a great location, just minutes away from Megan's Bay. About 15 minutes from Red Hook. It has the most beautiful views you could ask for, much better than the Ritz Carlton, where we stayed the first time in St. Thomas. We were there in the dead heat of the summer so it was a little hot at times but I'm sure every other month the breeze is perfect. We left a box fan for the master which makes it perfect for sleeping and a mint plant for mojitos. The blender at the Villa works great! We also loved the Farmhouse Restaurant, it was delish! If your there more than 3 days defiantly take a trip over to the British Isles, you can rent a boat for the day and go island hopping. It' such a beautiful place! Enjoy!

We love Villa Margaritta! It is a beautiful home in a gated community, very private, breathtaking views from every room, great breeze on that side of the island and the pool is a wonderful spot for watching shooting stars at night.
We found it to be spotless when we arrived and the owners a delight to work with.
It is a very romantic place, great for adults. -

What a great vacation rental. The experience booking the villa was painless. The owner greeted us at the airport and gave us a tour of the house so we were familiar with it for the duration of our trip. The journey down the driveway was a little scary at first but after a couple of times, it is a challenge you look forward to. The first thing that we noticed is that the property is in good shape. The pool and the yard have been kept up. We only used the master bedroom but it was more than adequate with a king sized bed and a very large bathroom. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and a coffee maker. The window filled living room is a perfect place to sit down, drink a cup of coffee, relax, enjoy the view and listen to the waves crash down below. In the evening, the deck is a perfect place to sit down, drink a beer and unwind. Every facet of our stay at Villa Margarita was a wonderful experience. The only regret we have is that we didn't stay longer.

From the time we arrived at the airport we were welcomed as if we were long lost friends. The drive to the villa was an experience in its self driving on the left side of the street. Upon entering the front gate of the villa we felt the effects of paradise and the ocean breese. We loved having the kitchen, dining and living room seperate from the bedrooms. We felt at home and there was nothing lacking in amemities. Being able to take a dip in the pool before bed was heaven. We liked the fact that the villa was secluded and felt very safe in the neighborhood. The second to last turn before you get to the villa is a tight one; take two passes at it if you must but don't let it stop you from staying at this lovely villa.
