This superb and luxurious home sits atop Picara Point in upscale Estate Peterborg, surrounded by 330-degree sweeping ocean views. Three levels, all beautifully detailed and furnished, offer wonderful panoramas. On Stargate's fully air-conditioned main floor is the Great Room with an impressive arched stone fireplace. Just outside is a sunny swimming pool overlooking heart-shaped Magens Bay.

The main level also offers a formal dining area, a gourmet kitchen with native stone and granite counters and wet bar, a powder room, and two air-conditioned king bedroom/bath suites.

French doors open from the Great Room and from the four-post...er king bedroom to a spacious deck bordering the entire the Atlantic Ocean side of Stargate, providing spectacular down-island views - miles and miles of breathtaking sea vistas punctuated with islands in the distance.

A handcrafted mahogany spiral staircase leads to Stargate's upper level and the spacious, air-conditioned king master suite, offering a private balcony with a view of aqua Magens Bay. The staircase continues up to Stargate's observatory tower, equipped as a secluded office with a DSL + Wi-Fi connection for your laptop and a printer, and with wonderful views from Magens all the way around to the British Virgin Islands and St. John.

Below, A manual gate opens to a short driveway and to the villa's attached garage where you may park your rental car. Watch tropical sunsets from the pool, then after a leisurely dinner, move to the deck on Stargate's opposite side.

  We really enjoyed our island vacation on St. Thomas and Stargate was certainly a large part of the reason. There were some issues that came up that I eventually came to learn were simply part of the island experience. For example, the first morning we had no water. The water hose on the back deck had apparently been allowed to stay on after cleaning and had drained the water tank. We also had air conditioning problems when the generator kicked on after a power outage and both of these problems were handled promptly and efficiently by Jim McManus. Though, they were still inconvenient, they were dealt with as well as could be expected by him. I think the dual personality of Stargate would have to be my favorite characteristic of that particular house. One side had the Atlantic\'s rocky shore with crashing waves and the other the mostly calm waters of Magen\'s Bay. I honestly don\'t think the location could be improved upon.

  Villa was as described on the website. It was of above average quality with a few exceptions: The master bathroom shower had little to no pressure or hot water. Towards the end of our stay, my husband finally was able to tighten the showerhead which made the pressure better. The air cond unit in the master bedroom was very noisy which made it hard to sleep at night. The beds in all three rooms were on the hard side. Driveway was very hard to navigate. The positives were the awesome views from both decks/pool. Living areas were well decorated and comfortable. Location provided privacy and quiet. Benjamin and Marianne both provided excellent customer service and were wonderful to work with.
