We stayed (family with 2 kids 4) in the lodge for 2 weeks whilst visiting family and we loved the place. It truly is a home from home. Julie had thought of everything including kids Dvds and toys which was a welcome gift. She had even dressed the 2nd bedroom with a child's duvet set which was a lovely touch. The place is v well equipped with all mod-con's (incl washing machine/dryer and dishwasher)and was very clean. The kids loved the place and the garden is brilliant with a zip-line, trampoline and wandering chickens. We also had to call on Julie for assistance to which she helped (boosting the WiFi on my laptop and a warm compress for a bad back! - both appreciated!). The drive to P'boro is about 10-15min's which is fine and you can get some great food sourced locally (eggs, veg etc from farm's). Will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for Family's especially!

We stayed at The Lodge at Fen-Acre for a weekend in January during our trip to the UK. It was simply fabulous! Spotlessly clean, comfortably furnished and with amenities that made it feel just like home. We have stayed in other hotels in the Peterborough area and were always disappointed by their value for money. This time, with our 18 month-old, we chose Fen-Acre, and I'm so glad we did. Incredibly family friendly with loads of baby supplies for use if needed. Washer and dryer to help with our loads of dirty laundry. Breakfast supplies/tea and coffee on hand to make your arrival much less stressful. And Julie was on site to help with anything we needed! The only downside I can think of is needing a car. It's definitely a 15 - 20 minute drive into Peterborough, but if you're renting a car already, I can't imagine going anywhere else! We will be back.

Thank you so much for your glowing review. We know how stressful it can be traveling long distances with very young children so are pleased that were able to make it less so for you and your family.

The welcome from Julie was wonderful, The Lodge was perfect - Clean and excellently equipped. Everything has been carefully thought out so that immediately on arrival, you feel at home. We've stayed in many holiday lets, but never one that provides everything down to the bin bags, sewing kits and Dvds to watch!
The children particularly loved the garden with the chickens running around and the zipwire and saying hello to the horses next door.
We were in Crowland to visit family, but it's very well placed for both Peterborough and Spalding.
Can't wait to go back!! -

Had a lovely 4 night stay in The Lodge at Fen acre. We were on a nostalgia trip as I spent my first 3 years in Crowland. Julie was so welcoming and friendly, everything for our comfort had been thought of from the welcome pack of breakfast food - bacon, eggs, cereal, etc. to items such as tape measure, food wrap plus much more. Loved the pictures and words framed on the wall giving a history of the Lodge. We had lovely weather so sat out in the secluded patio area. Would recommend this place to all ages.

Owners friendly and helpful, the accommodation itself was excellent and complete down to the smallest detail, things like a torch in the bedside cabinet, a first aid kit, vinegar for the fish and chips!

We stayed in the Lodge @ Fen-Acre as we were attending a wedding nearby and as a party of 3 adults and 2 babies under 6 months we thought self catering would suit us much better than a budget hotel. After a 9 hour car journey from Devon we were unbelievably overjoyed to be welcomed to The Lodge by Julie. We quickly and easily settled in as the Lodge is very comfortable and fantastically well equipped, the owners have thought of everything from the nail files in the bathroom to the great selection of books and games in the lounge and a fully equipped kitchen. Plus the breakfast hamper of eggs, milk and a selection of cereals was great. My husband and I stayed in the larger room with our baby. There was enough room for the lovely comfortable bed and our travel cot. My sister and her baby stayed in the smaller room which was adequate size for the single bed and a travel cot kindly provided by the owners. The bathroom is very clean and a modern wetroom style, we even managed to shower the babies quite easily. The lounge/diner is comfortable and there was plenty of room to spread out. It's a shame the weather wasn't better so we could enjoy the lovely garden and outside patio area. Although we did take our daughter to meet the chickens. The property felt very secure and relatively secluded. It was very peacful even though it is quite close to the road, we barely noticed it. We didn't have much time to check out the area as had wedding plans on both days, but the village of Crowland looked lovely. It also seems well placed to explore the area. We would love to come back and stay again. It is somewhere i could easily spend a week and do some exploring and cycling on the lovely flat roads. The Lodge is amazing value and in excellent condition. If you're looking for somewhere great to stay in this area then The Lodge @ Fen-Are is it. Thanks, we hope to return.

Thank you Jessica for your very comprehensive review of our newly opened self catering accommodation. Even though you rack your brains to try to think of everything it's so nice when someone confirms that you don't seem to have forgotten a thing! You're right Crowland is a lovely place with flat roads for cycling so hopefully we will see you and your family returning one day.

The Lodge was very well equiped and clean which made our stay very enjoyable. Nothing was too much for the owners to help us with. The provisions for our first breakfast were much appreciated. If returning to this area we would stay at the Lodge again.

A brilliant place-Julie has thought of everything
Julie clearly puts much thought into providing anything her guests could have possibly forgotten-even down to providing nail files :-)

Thank you for your lovely review. I should make it known that you actually stayed in our new unit The Lodge, not Eastside but then, I'm sure you would have been just as pleased with Eastside. lol. Hopefully you will be coming round this way again sometime soon.
