Spend cozy evenings reading beside the fire in our spacious living area - or listening to the sounds of nature on the front porch of our beautiful and rustic log cabin. Some of New York's best trout fishing is just down the hill on the creek - which feeds into the Esopus River a mile away. And another mile up the road are some of New York State's best hiking and camping trails.

Our cabin is beautifully decorated with local antiques; and we can tell you all the best places to look for good stuff. This is a perfect spot for nature lovers who want true serenity and the glory of the mountains and sunshine all around you. No matter the seaso...Read more

The Catskills, just 2 hours north of New York City, provide an incredible escape in a truly pristine natural environment. Because our area is all state land, you will not find any of the development that plagues the rest of our country. Towns stay small but full of culture and nature stays wild and full of beauty here. In all seasons, the Catskills are a remarkable place!

The sweet town of Phoenicia is a real town, with a grocery store, post office, a few shops and restaurants, and the best breakfast place in the world, Sweet Sue's. Cross country ski for free at nearby Wilson State Park - or visit groomed trails at Belleayre or Tannersville.

      Beautiful pet friendly cabin

Left on 03/30/2013 for a stay in March 2013

My friends and I spent the last few days of March at this lovely cabin. It's conveniently located just 2hours from NYC. It's rustic charms blend seamlessly with the outdoors. There is a very cute claw-foot tub/shower. The kitchen is fully stocked and great to cook in. The woodstove/fireplace is easy to use and keeps the whole cabin cozy. The owners save you time and money by providing ample firewood. They are nice enough to let you bring your pets along which really makes the cabin feel like home. Woodstock is a great place to shop for and hang out for the day. Slide Mountain is my favorite hike and is located pretty close to the cabin. Boiceville,NY is the most convenient place for groceries and adult beverages. The Phoenicia Diner has great food and wonderful service. What a wonderful place to stay!! Thank you, Evelyn.

      Wonderful Escape From the City

Left on 03/22/2013 for a stay in March 2013

My boyfriend and I escaped to the cabin from NYC for a long weekend with our fur children. Booking the stay was easy and Evelyn was a pleasure to correspond with. We had a small mixup when reserving our dates, for which Evelyn was apologetic and the recompense was more than adequate.

I was concerned with what we would do for fun as I have never been to the Catskills in the winter. This was absolutely unnecessary - we barely even left the cabin! The cabin was beautiful inside and out. The fireplace heats the home perfectly plus provides a calming warm glow and delightful aroma. The kitchen was fully stocked with requisite equipment and spices. However, being vegan we elected to bring some of our own cookery and spices that we knew we needed. Additionally, I was very happy that the cleaning products used and available were for the most part natural and cruelty-free.

Finally, not only did we enjoy our stay but our animals had a blast! We immensely appreciate that pets were allowed and that pets was not limited to dogs. Our dog did love running in the snow and sitting with us on the couch. Our blind cat, however, quite possibly enjoyed the cabin more than anyone (human, cat, or dog) who has ever stayed there in the history of its existence. During the day he laid on the rug in front of the fireplace. In the evening he pounced and ran around while playfully mewing.

Overall this was exactly what we were hoping for and more. It had the warmth of a home away from home and we left feeling peaceful and relaxed. We hope to become regular visitors.

      Idyllic and beyond expectation!

Left on 01/21/2013 for a stay in January 2013

We couldn't adore this cabin or the time we spent in the area more. The cabin is rustic, charming, cozy and comfortable. The fireplace is enchanting, and so is the property--hearing the constant rush of the nearby creek was an unexpected and welcome surprise. We saw more stars than we have in years. The cabin is set far enough away for peaceful quiet but is conveniently close to Woodstock, downtown Phoenicia, Hunter and all the hiking our hearts desired. Our dogs especially appreciated being welcomed and enjoyed their mini vacation. A long weekend was not enough!

      Great place!

Left on 11/06/2012 for a stay in November 2012

The cabin was just what we were looking for; it was close to hiking and good restaurants, but had the feel of being entirely secluded. We appreciated that the cabin was rented to us on very short notice and that Evelyn took the time to tell us all we needed to know on our drive up to the Catskills!

      Wonderful Retreat!!

Left on 03/04/2012 for a stay in February 2012

We enjoyed our winter getaway in this cozy and comfortable log cabin! We were able to enjoy long scenic hikes as well as a lazy day by the fire as we watched the snow fall around us! Our dog enjoyed the freedom and fresh air as much as we did...if not more! What a great place to disconnect from technology and reconnect with your family and nature

Very cozy cabin in beautiful Catskills

Left on 11/06/2011 for a stay in October 2011

I stayed here with my husband, our two young sons and friends of us during a beautiful long weekend in Fall 2011. The cabin is fantastic, all wooden, very nicely decorated and it's super cozy with a fireplace. We enjoyed the surroundings (hiking, cute villages) as well as simply spending time in the cabin - it's the perfect place to wind down with a nice home-cooked meal and reading by the fireplace. We had a great stay and hope to come back - certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a cozy and comfortable place to stay in the beautiful Catskills!

      Absolutely Wonderful

Left on 12/08/2010 for a stay in December 2010

My husband, four year old twins and I just had a fabulous stay at Evelyn and Michael's cabin in Phoenicia. The cabin is cozy and beautifully decorated all at once. We had everything we could have possibly needed; fully functioning kitchen, comfortable beds with clean sheets, fire wood, plenty of space and even toys for the kids. The property is breath taking and perfectly quiet as it's off the main road. I simply can't recommend this cabin highly enough.
