This elegant Lake Como villa is right on the lake and has unbeatable views from the upstairs. There is a public walkway that runs in front of the villa, but there are hedges that provide privacy. This is a great Italian Lakes villa for an extended family with children or for a group of friends. There are several bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a huge kitchen, and a play room for little ones. Adults will enjoy the large sunny terrace, while kids frolic in the pool or play at the beach next door. Whatever your group demographics, everyone staying at this villa on Lake Como will enjoy exploring the surrounding area-- one of the most beautiful n...atural areas in Italy.
(2,500 m2) This lakefront villa is surrounded on the front and around one side by a large terra-cotta terrace (45m x 8m) and a lawn, equipped with an outdoor dining table and chairs where you can have meals. Around the side of the house is a pool. Behind the house is a parking area for six cars; across the street from the parking area is a museum devoted to ancient watercraft, called La Raccolta della Barca Lariana. To the left of the house (on the side of the pool) is a small dock area, and to the right is a small public beach. A public path runs in front of the property between the front lawn and the water (with hedges for privacy), so this property should not be considered secluded; the most pedestrians come during July and August.
Ground Floor: The front doors of this villa lead into an entry room where there is a closet. Directly to the left is a play room for children, with access to the terrace. Continuing straight ahead from the entryway, you will enter into a 55 m2 living/dining area with a huge wooden dining table (seating about 10-14) and French doors opening out onto the terrace. An open doorway leads into a 37 m2 living room, where there are a couple of couches and a TV. Two open doorways on either side of the television lead into a closed veranda, where there is a table and chairs in front of a couple of sunny windows, perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack. At the opposite end of the living room, another doorway leads into a small hallway where there are two WCs, and a staircase leading to the first floor. Back in the dining room, a door to the right leads into a large kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, oven, cook-top, and microwave. There is a handicap-equipped bathroom with shower on the ground floor. On request the owner can also arrange a handicap accessible bedroom on the ground floor.
First Floor: Upstairs, a hallway opens into a total of seven bedrooms. The first bedroom has a 160 cm queen-size bed, an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower, and an open veranda overlooking the lake. The second bedroom has a 160 cm queen-size bed and an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower. The third bedroom has a 160 cm queen-size bed, a view of the lake, and an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and bathtub with handheld showerhead. This room has a door leading into the fourth bedroom (which can also be accessed from the hall), which has one single bed. The fifth bedroom has a 160 cm queen-size bed, a view of the lake, and an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower. The sixth bedroom has a 160 cm queen-size bed and a door leading into the seventh bedroom. The seventh bedroom has one single bed and an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower.

We and our extended family really enjoyed our stay at Villa Lariana. The property is large, airy, and comfortable. The staff (property manager, housekeeping, chef) is terrific.
There are lots of bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and air conditioner. The kitchen is commercial quality and huge--perfect for preparing meals for a large group. The heated pool (which can be completely covered in case of rain) offered welcome relief at the end of each day. The ping-pong table in the game room kept the kids occupied.
DON'T MISS the Boat Museum (La Raccolta della Barca Lariana), which is no longer open to the public, but can be viewed by villa guests with the property manager. It's a spectacular record of the nautical history of the lake.
We also enjoyed walking the length of the public lakefront walkway that passes in front of the villa.

Villa Lariana is a beautiful house.
The villa is beautiful. Very roomy, large kitchen that was once a restaurant, lovely caretaker Daniella who is extremely helpful and daily housekeeping. The house is lovely and gracious. Very sleepy town but the surrounding vista is stunning and the lack of tourist activity is a plus.
Not too difficult to get to the towns nearby but requires a significant ferry or car journey. It is quite a distance down the lake from Como and has limited ferry access. There is a public walkway that is fairly busy, which limits the feeling of privacy. The owners have planted hedges to increase privacy but unfortunately that reduces the view of the lake!

Excellent! We loved the house, the location, everything was great!
The house is very spacious and the location is amazing, right in front of lake Como.
Everything was fine. My only suggestions are to install air conditioning in the bedrooms and the option of heating the pool - the water was too cold!
The lake is beautiful. For visiting the villages, a car is necessary.

What a fabulous time we had at the villa in Italy! It was everything you said it would be. The owner/keyholder was wonderful to deal with. She left us a detailed folder with all the things we needed to know and more about the villa and the area. We had perfect weather, as well. We woke up to clouds one morning, and it was snowing on the mountains. It was truly beautiful. It was mostly melted the next day, but for a short period of time, really changed the landscape. It was a very well maintained house with a good House Book.
Location. Loved the kitchen - it even had a microwave/convection oven! The house was spotless.
Can't think of anything. Uncomfortable furniture in the living room. The owner said that it was just temporary and would be replaced.
We loved the small villages and the ferries, and the ability to walk along the water. The people were great.

Being directly on the lake was magnificent.
The entrance to the villa was disappointing.
It was very quiet, and there were a few good restaurants close by.
