Well equipped, clean comfortable cottage in an excellent location
a real home from home.
We visited as a family group at Easter, Parents, x2 Sons and Grandparent all thoroughly enjoyed it.
Nice touch from owner leaving Chocolate Bunnies on pillows x1 per as Easter treat.

Cobblers cottage is located on a busy main road through the charming town of Pickering. It is a short walk from the town centre where one can find all the shopping necessary including good butchers and an excellent gastropub (the White Swan). On Mondays there is a good market in the town.
The cottage is nicely equipped in the main, though there were some omissions in the kitchen (can not now remember all, sorry but I think there was a shortage of serving dishes and microwave cookware). A good sharp knife as usual in a holiday cottage was worth bringing. The fridge-freezer was enormous. The (new and high-quality) cooker was quite complicated to operate requiring extensive reading of the manual.
There is no garden; in retrospect we would have liked to have been able to sit outside in the evenings and maybe have a barbecue.
The cottage is described as quaint - I think this must refer to the low beams; I am 5'9" and got several nasty bangs on the head. Tall visitors beware!
The area is nice with walking on the moors to the North. The steam railway provided a good way of making a one-way trip. The church is very interesting with mediaeval wall paintings; it was also very welcoming on Sunday. There are not a lot of options for smaller children in the area (ours are adult so not a problem) unless you are prepared to travel a fair way.

This cottage is a delight. I'm becoming a regular!
Its very well equipped and manages to be comfortable and stylish at the same time. The owners are very welcoming and helpful.
Pickering is an interesting place itself as well as being convenient for the attractions of the North Yorks moors.
