A group of ladies and I travel to Pigeon Forge each January to enjoy a getaway and shop the sales at the outlets. We spend a good deal of time in the cabin taking advantage of the amenities. This year, due to a miscommunication, we didn't get our first choice of cabins in Parkside Resort. Valley Viewtiful was available so I chose it based on the number of bedrooms and baths. We couldn't have been more disappointed. Upon checking in we were told of a door that would not open and that a repairman would be there the next morning. Upon arrival at the cabin, we found iced-over steps leading to the front door, no door mat so we tracked in all over the hardwood floors as we unloaded, carpet so stained that I wouldn't let my dogs live on it, and a less-than-equipped kitchen with old, scratched up pans for cooking. Now we can and do bring some of our own utensils, however the cabins are advertised as fully equipped. This is totally misleading. Three out of six jets in the master bath didn't work. The ceiling fan/light in downstairs BR had no globe cover so two light bulbs were exposed. A huge glob of hair was pulled out of downstairs bath tub. We reported all this to the office. The attendant was very kind and said he would report our concerns to his office manager who would call us. To this minute we have not received a call from her. This cabin needs to be taken off the market until it is completely renovated n Read more
First, let us say thank you for staying with us on your annual trip to Pigeon Forge. We want you to know how much we appreciate your honest feedback about your stay and your cabin. We apologize that the cabin was not to your standards. However, we were pleased that after all was said and done we were able to reach a mutual agreement and that you will be coming back to see us next year. Thank you again and we can't wait to see you again next year!

I thorougly researched before renting Valley Viewtiful for a family vacation. We loved the area and the amenities that were offered. Location is great-close to both Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg attractions. Views were wonderful from all three decks. Staff was very friendly and helpful.Theater room was wonderful. On the down side, the carpets were very stained and dirty and really would prefer if the living room & family room furniture would have been leather instead of cloth which also could have used a good cleaning. The wood floors on the main level were very noisy. The kitchen was poorly stocked & could use some attention. All this said, we still enjoyed our stay and would return to this resort.
Overall we really loved the house and enjoyed our stay. We would rent this house again. The bedrooms/beds met our family needs and the space/layout was perfect. The view is simply beautiful. We enjoyed the pool and putt putt course and of course the home theater. Only negatives were minor and were resolved: needed service to light the fire pit; was low and then out of gas for fire pit and gas grill; some light bulbs throughout house needed replaced, hot tub needed service but then worked and garbage pick up is only once a week (had terrible smell from previous renters garbage). I think the only true negative was the bedroom under the kitchen is very noisy; you could hear anyone walking upstairs.

The cabin size is nice with nice size beds. View was a little disappointing, if you looked straight out it was not as pictured, but if you looked at an angle it was better. Kitchen had 2 can openers, neither worked. Bare essentals in kitchen. Hot water took a long time to reach sinks and ran out very quickly. Jet tub did not work in some tubs. Tubs and showers were not very clean. Hot tub was nice. The cable tv had very little if any childrens channels. Sheets had horrible thread count and were very rough. A very long cleaning list is required ie strip beds, empty waste baskets, etc., but you are charged a 75.00 cleaning fee. Staff was friendly.

This same group has traveled together to Gatlinburg for the last 4 years for Valentine's weekend. Having many experiences with staying w/different properties I have to say I was a little disappointed and the amount of time we had to spend getting things "taken care of". We are not a hard group to please but we all share the same mind that when we are on vacation...we want to relax. I know the fine print of the contract says that accommodations can be changed due to "owners". Well that was not problem it was the many things that were wrong w/our chalet and the numerous calls we had to make to the office. We felt guilty for calling which also weighed on us as far as "relaxing". This trip is all about relaxation for us...most of us have been to Gatlinburg numerous times so on this "getaway" we usually stay in our PJs and chill out the whole 3 days inside enjoying the chalet because that's what we want to do. Choosing the Chalet is the biggest part of our trip because we know we will spend the whole weekend in and so having the necessary amenities to do that is a must. The staff was very nice. I have no complaints on that...I did find it funny however that when we opened the cabinet to pull out a saucepan, the pitcher to one of the blenders hit the ceramic tile floor and broke. When we called down to the office about it they told us how much we would have to pay them to replace it or we could replace it ourselves. We replaced it but for all the trouble we had...could you guys have said "don't worry about it". I do not care for cloth furniture in a place where multiple people will stay, but if you must have it, it should be cleaned frequently. Like I said the staff was kind and we were thankful. We enjoyed the theater room one of the couples was inspired to put one in their home and that is being done now. We made it through and we took it all in stride so that we could have another great memory.

This past weekend I along with my family spent a few days at the Valley Viewtiful cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found the accommodations to be clean, spacious, and economical for our trip to Pigeon Forge. This visit is actually our third visit to the resort. This is also our second time staying in the Valley Viewtiful cabin. The first time we visited we were traveling with other couples. This cabin can accommodate both arrangements nicely. We plan to visit again next year.

When booking the Valley View-tiful cabin, everybody was really, really nice and very helpful. When we arrived, the cabin was beautiful and basically new - almost identical to the pictures on line. There were five couples and we each had our own private bathroom and balcony. Each bedroom had a fireplace and jetted tub with separate shower. The cabin was spacious and clean. There were a few downsides but not deal breakers. The most annoying thing was the asian lady bugs...can you say "ladybugs everywhere". We spent a lot of time cleaning up lady bugs. The air hockey table didn't work and one of the jetted tubs didn't work. We had problems with the cable in the main living area and the picture was blurry in the media room. However, we called maintenance, they came the next day and they replaced the cable box on the main TV and cleared the picture in the media room. Some of us took advantage of the hot tub and pool table. We utilized the gas grill and the kitchen. With all that said, I would definitely go back. It was a nice get-a-way and a good deal for the money.
