Flowery BranchPerfect getaway & setting
Left on 04/11/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Loved the setting immediately. The house is situated perfectly on the lot. I was a bit concerned about the distance from everything before we got there but it turns out it's not far at all from everything. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting out around the pond especially with our 2 year old. She loved feeding the fish. We went with another couple, their teenage daughter & our 2 year old. We fit perfectly in the house. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The kitchen had everything we needed although we didn't cook in there as much as we would've liked to. We went to Dollywood, shopping and eating in town most of our time. The media/game room area is where we stayed the majority of the time when we were there & it fit all of us comfortably while we watched movies. We definitely plan to go back and plan to stay in the cabin a little more to truly relax. The owner was also always quick to respond to my emails and very helpful with great tips & suggestions about the area. We'll definitely go back just as soon as we can. I've already recommended this cabin to a co-worker & assured him that the pics don't do the property justice.

Kimberly, AlOur family loved it and it's very relaxing.
Left on 03/22/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We wanted to take a family vacation to the Smoky Mountains for spring break and this was the place we stayed in for 4 nights. We have 3 kids. A 2 & 10 year old boy and a 12 year old girl. From the check in to the security gate from our entire stay it was absolutly wonderful. The only complaint I have is us getting lost the night we came in the neighborhood. The roads were gravely and some steep. From the directions on the paper and the signs on the roads it was very confusing. But once we found the house it was worth it and it looked better than the pictures. The inside was very clean. The kitchen had everything you needed. I loved the counter tops. There is a lot of books and movies for the family. Plenty of tv's for everyone. Loved the surround sound in the main living room. The most frustrating thing for us inside was the stairs and making sure our 2 year old wasn't going up or down without someone. The bathrooms were great I loved the lighting in both. Plenty of towels and wash rags. Also plenty of pillows and extra covers. There is no cell phone signal but there is wifi. The outside was so breath taking. I have to say it was the most beautiful place I have ever stayed. The creek stream runs under the house into the front pond. The back yard was the best for me. I just let the kids run around and play. My 2 year old kept heading for the pond in the front. We just let him fish on the porch with his daddy with one of the cane poles that was there. The hot tub on the back porch was very relaxing. We loved the gas grill also. We grilled some hamburgers and hot dogs one night. Let's just say we didn't want to leave and go do anything once we were there. The kids loved playing pool, foosball, playing in the creek, and also getting in the hot tub (not my 2 year old though)lol. I will love to stay here again when ever we plan to go back.

Fairfax County, VAAttractive mountain home in peaceful setting.
Left on 09/02/2012 for a stay in August 2012
The house sits on a quiet mountain side. We went in our 4WD Subaru. We saw many different types of butterflies, birds, wild turkeys, trees and flowers. Our children, girls ages 6 and 12, liked to sit on the big rocks next to the pond and feed the fish breadcrumbs. The lovely mossy backyard was very peaceful, and a hot tub was there.
The house was attractively decorated inside, and throughout was very clean. There was a wonderful selection of things to do inside the house, such as checkers and  chess on attractive wood tables with the game pattern etched onto them, and leather director's style game chairs. There were also board games, foozball, and beautiful pool table, and of course the nice tvs, DVD
selection. The sofas were very comfy. In the family room/game room there was a large curved leather sofa with a large flat screen tv, as were the other 2 tvs.The dining room table was circular and provided plenty of room. It had sturdy wood chairs, appropriate for the setting. Tall stone fireplace. Plenty of space for the 4 of us to be together, or go somewhere to do our own thing. The house is also only a 15 minute drive to a grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants. Also, it is an easy drive to the National Park, Dixie Stampede, and Dollywood, which we also really enjoyed. We live outside Washington, DC. This was a wonderful, peaceful getaway. You feel a million miles away, but you are close enough to civilization if you need it.

This was a perfect location for us --close to Pigeon Forge, but not in town. Loved the seclusion, the pond, and the landscaping. Everything was just as described. The home is roomy, clean and comfortable and there are no other cabins in sight. We took our 4-year old grandson and he thoroughly enjoyed the fishing and the yard. Great value, great location, and accomodations. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone!

Left on 10/12/2011 for a stay in October 2011
What a wonderful place!! We had a beautiful ceremony in the back yard for our Wedding!! You couldnt imagine a more perfect back drop for us.. It was so perfect it looked like someone painted it.. The leaves had just enough change.. Inside was perfect for our reception.. After our reception the real vacation began!! So peaceful... Loved sitting out back at night with just the sound of the stream running beside the house. It even got better when the morning of our last night we had a real experience of nature.. A small back bear desided to have a drink or a little fun in the pond.. As we watched from the front porch.. He didn't even care we were there.. It was amazing!!! My husband also enjoyed your fishing equipment, he was able to catch 4 fish.. He loved it!! We really didn't want to leave.. I have vacationed in many area's but if you just want to get away and feel at home, this place is perfect!!! Thank You Sandra for all your help with the most amazing day of our lives... We will always feel that Catch and Release is our special get away.. and will be for years to come!

My husband, daughter and I had a wonderful time staying at Catch and Release! We had never been to the area before and thoroughly relaxed and felt rejuvenated after our time at the cabin. The setting is private, tranquil and beautiful and yet conveniently close to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and The Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The house is extremely comfortable and well maintained and was immaculate upon our arrival. We enjoyed exploring the many attractions in the area each day and then returning to the cabin to relax in the evening. What a special place!

The house is in a private gated community nestled in the rolling foothills of the Smokey Mountains. It is a very peaceful & relaxing setting and the area attractions, theaters, shopping and Dollywood are located within a short drive. The pictures shown here pale in comparision to the actual views ! Everything about the house was wonderful and the comfort of the bedding was amazing. I usually have a hard time adjusting to "vacation bedding" but the beds were so cozy and comfortable I never missed any rest. Sandra helps in every aspect of your vacation experience and we couldnt have asked for better reccomendations! Honestly out of all our vacation rentals and we do go yearly this was by far the best!!!

Hi Lisa,
Thank you for your review. As a compliment to you and your family the housekeeper said you left Catch & Release in wonderful condition and that was very thoughtful of you all. Paula works very hard in tending to every detail for each guest. We refresh C&R every January and so when you return you will feel like it is a new experience. C&R has been so popular this season that we are receiving vacation requests for next year. I hope to see you back here soon. Have a wonderful summer! -

We would like to say that this place was utterly impressive and lovely! Sandra really cares about her property and her guests, and was helpful from before our booking the cabin till after we came back. She also prepared her book as a welcome gift for us.
This place is fairly close to most attractions around the Great Smoky Mountains. It takes around 15 minutes to drive from Gatlinburg, which is a must-see town.
The place was nice, clean and utterly beautiful. Sometimes the wireless network there is slow (since the house is deep in the woods). Overall it was a superior experience to tour around Gatlinburg and stay at Sandra's Catch & Release.Response from Sandra Gunn - 06/08/2011

This place is breath taking. The mountains and the pond was great in the early morning. My children loved being outside and feeding the goldfish. Many hours of fun and laughts around the pool table. We had a party and a few guests over, the kitchen was great and plenty ofroom for all. Paula did a great job cleaning the place up, it was breath-taking and can't wait to come back again and again.

Lynchburg, VaWonderful!
Left on 11/07/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We have been coming to Pigeon Forge for many years and have tried a new cabin every year. This year we made the best choice of all in "Catch and Release". It was secluded but yet close enough for all the action in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We loved so much about this cabin, comfortable beds with overhead fans, beautifully decorated, Tv's in both king rooms upstairs and 2 large tv's with Dvd's downstairs. Wood fireplace in living room and gas fireplace on other end in theater room. Full kitchen beautiful counter with bar stools and full table with 6 chairs. Large wall windows with the beautiful view of the pond and fountain in front yard. Turkeys visited for a drink. There was a nice hot tub in the back with a very nice landscaped, country look to back yard. Grill and chairs outback as well. A creek ran under this cabin as it sits in the bottom between the mountains on each side. This is a gaited community and we were always treated very nice. We will be spending our fall getaway here from now on!!! You just got to try it!

Thank you Harris family for your wonderful review. We look forward to seeing you in the fall. We just added new electronics to Catch & Release in time for the holidays. We put an 42" LG LCD HDTV on the living room fireplace wall and moved the Vizio 32" flat screen to the king bedroom. When you return you will see more improvements! We love making our guests feel special and like having them see new improvements when they return - makes it feel like a new cabin.

Left on 08/06/2010 for a stay in February 2010
Our stay at this home was such a great surprise in every regard. We expected nice accomodations and comfortable setting, but this place exceeded our expectations in every way. The rooms are all so tasteful, warm and filled with comfortable details at every turn, with lots of space for privacy or children that want to explore. We felt like royalty in those bedrooms, the beds are so comfortable. It's got great entertainment areas too, with pool table and hot tub, BBQ, garden, creek that flows below the house...it is just magical. The surroundings are beautiful, with just enough distance for privacy but close enough to everywhere you want to be. Our family loved this house, it made our vacation easy and fun, combining luxury and comfort in the perfect way!

Left on 08/06/2010 for a stay in August 2010
The who;e family had a great time in the Smoky Mountains. Catch & Release was just out of this world and the kids loved fishing in the pond, hiking and swimming. We loved the landscape of the private yard just sitting from the family room or rocking on the front porch chair. The kids had a private area to play or watch television and we enjoyed grilling outside and being together as a family. We will be back again.
Thanks a bunch for the great price for or week vacation.

Left on 08/06/2010 for a stay in July 2010
Our family comes to the Smokey Mountains about 3 times a year just to get the year round experiences that this area has to offer. We are from the flat lands and have never had a mountain experience. We are hooked line and sinker now that we know that you can stay in the mountains and be close to everything there is to offer here. The children enjoyed fishing and we enjoyed watching! We will be back in a few months to see what Catch and Release looks like in the fall! By the way we did get to experience a thunder storm in the mountains!! We all enjoyed it!

Left on 07/30/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We enjoyed a wonderful family vacation! The house is in a private gated community nestled in the rolling foothills of the Smokey Mountains. It is a very peaceful & relaxing setting and the area attractions, theaters, shopping and Dollywood are located within a short drive. This was the first time we have rented a home, which was a better value than the hotels in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The pond was stocked with fish and while we didn’t see any turkeys during our stay, there was a raccoon sighting in the evening. The free broadband Internet was great and the kids loved the pool and foosball tables. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub overlooking the creek. This is the perfect place to relax with children and friends. We will be booking this home in the autumn to take advantage of the fall foliage season.
