The road to our rental was over grown with weeds and small tree limbs.Nowhere to park our car. Interior of cabin not well maintained and not very clean.
Response from American Patriot Getaways - 11/08/2012
Manager
Fran, I'm sorry you were disappointed in Sunset Vista View and most disturbed that you felt the cabin was not clean. We have a very dedicated housekeeping staff that take great pride in their work. Had you called us during your stay, I would have sent a housekeeper out to rectify any cleaning issues. As far as the road to the cabin goes, American Patriot Getaways isn't responsible for the county roads. Some cabins in the mountains do have limited parking due to the terrain, but all of them have room for a vehicle.
Again, Fran I am sorry you were disappointed in your stay at Sunset Vista View. -

This is the first time we have stayed in a cabin and it was awesome. It was clsoe to town but miles away at the same time. It took us less than 5 min to get to town. The showers were small and the bathroom down stairs had hair on the floor and in the tub. We liked it so much we are planning to bring our family to a cabin next year for our annual summer vacation. We are also looking to take a big family vacation two summers from now with about 20-25 people. The size of the cabin was great and could easily sleep a family of 6.

We had a great time staying at Sunset Vista View. The view was awesome. The seclusion was nice and yet it was real close to Pigeon Forge.

My husband and I recently stayed in the Sunset Vista View cabin just up the mountain from Pigeon Forge in Tennessee. We had a wonderful time. The cabin was beautiful, well appointed, and quiet. After a very long and challenging year, this place with the amazing views, the hot tub, pool table, and close vicinity to so many things, helped to make us both feel refreshed, renewed, and ready to take on the world again. We will definitely be back to "our place in the moutains" next year.

Hard to find a place to turn around to get out on this little one lane road. During rainstorm had water leaking from the roof into the living room next to the couch. Had to put a bucket underneath to catch the water. Notified office of leak and no one ever came to repair while we were there. Small warped support post holding up the porches on the side of a cliff. Windows in Master Bedroom extremely dirty and not able to see out of very well. Think twice about this rental, view is beautiful, but cabin accessability and condition not up to par.

Left on 08/24/2012 for a stay in July 2012
My only problem is we were unfamiliar with the area to know that we'd prefer the Gatlinburg area better, however, the cabin itself, was clean, beautiful, rustic and all the things one would expect in a Smoky's get away! Beautiful view and all amenities in great working order. We have since stayed at aunt Bug's and never again, back to american Patriots, we have learned our lesson, once you have great accomodations, there is no ability to go up, just down! Aunt bug's was horrific! bed broken, no pressure in the hot tub jets, ants all over the kitchen and rude people! Everyone was great at american Patriots!!! Stick with american Patriots if you haven't yet, as there were no complaints!!!

My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon, we were so pleased that we ended up staying an extra day! The views were beautiful and the cabin was clean with a lot of space. The cabin was priced reasonably too! I would recommend this cabin to anyone!

This is definitely a "must see to believe" place! My family an I really enjoyed this cabin. It was very close in proximity to everything! The walking trails were great and the view from the decks were breathless! This is a great place to take the family. We traveled with children aged 15,14,10 & 9 and everyone was entertained with something on one of the 3 levels in the cabin!

When we got there it was dirty, we had already paid so stayed one night and had a terrible night. Huge old spider webs, bathroom floor dirty and coming up in big bubble!! Upstairs bathroom smelled like urine. The windows had smog mildew. We had asked for nice veiw. The view could have been nice if the windows didnt have mold where the beads had been broken. We could not see through them very well at all. Dirty!!! we asked to move the next morning and we took what we were told "the only thing available" was 25 minutes away from where we like to walk.We spent lots of money on gas that we had not expected! So it changed our vacation we looked forward to for a year-to nothing like we wanted because we like to walk miles on the main drive in Pigeon Forge. We had questioned all of our concerns at Sunset Vista View, it was not like the young lady told us. We had thought of telling yal... but we try to be kind. Since you asked, so this is how we felt.We go to Pigeon Forge often and never had anything like this happen,, No stars none..At this time would not recommend yal to any one. Thank you for listening.

NE OhioGreat view from a wonderfully well equipped and cozy cabin!!
Left on 03/07/2012 for a stay in February 2012
We stayed here for 5 days in February and it was wonderful! We put the full kitchen and hot tub to good use every day and enjoyed waking up to the spectacular view of the Great Smoky Mountains each morning. If you're lucky enough to be there when the weather is nice (it rained 3 of our 5 days there) you have a gorgeous sunset over the mountains to look forward to every evening. We were able to bring our two dogs along with us, and the cabin is very pet friendly. The Proximity to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is a major plus. The one and only complaint I have (and the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5) is that the bed in the loft bedroom was very uncomfortable due to its extreme firmness. Other than that, I would definitely stay here again.

Need more towels in bathrooms and a bathmat.
The biggest problem is not enough parking. We only had a single full-size truck and had an almost impossible time getting the truck turned around. We had to go down the road and back up into someone's driveway to turn around. From that point on, every time we returned, we had to back down the road all the way to the cabin...Very hairy situation since road is so narrow with little room for error. I would suggest that anyone that has a full-size truck be warned that parking is a problem.

We took our dogs (small Bischons) and enjoyed the very quiet and relaxing stay. Had everything we needed; spa, pool table and relaxation. We chose not to turn on the TV or internet and very much enjoyed the relaxation.

Manager
Kim, I apologize that the cabin was not properly cleaned. I will certainly pass your comments along to our housekeeping manager so that the proper actions can be taken. Certainly the cabin should have been cleaned properly on your arrival, but if you had called to let us know about the situation, we would have sent someone out to correct it. Again, I am sorry we didn't have the opportunity to fix the problem during your stay and hope you will give American Patriot Getaways another opportunity to serve you the next time you visit our area.
