This cabin is awesome! It's everything advertised plus. From the time we arrived we were Completely relaxed. Between the view which is spectacular night and day. Making a real fire! sitting out on the porch enjoying the Jacuzzi at night under the stars looking out over the mountains. Very clean and new. I just can't say enough about this place. You feel like you're a million miles from civilization but yet minutes from downtown. I will definitely be staying there again. Talk about a romantic retreat your lady will love it. And love you for it believe me!

This was our second stay at this cabin. It has turned into a yearly girls trip. The views are spectacular. The cabin itself is quite comfortable, and we love that it has a wood burning fireplace. Something as small as that really makes a difference. The cabin is well equipped, and we wanted for nothing. You absolutely cannot beat the view while chilling in the hot tub. We really liked the addtion of the rocking chairs.

WisconsinBreathtaking views; terrifying road to get there.
Left on 11/15/2012 for a stay in October 2012
The cabin is just as pictured. However, when we were told that the last quarter to half mile would be "challenging, but worth it" they weren't kidding. We have a four-wheel drive SUV and it took a good hour after reaching the cabin for our nerves to settle down. If you want to go back and forth to the Parkway, this is not the cabin for you. The drive is so challenging that you probably will only attempt it once or twice a day. Don't attempt this cabin with a car. I would not attempt this cabin any later than mid October when the roads could have a layer of ice or slippery, wet leaves as you try to drive down them early in the morning.
As promised, the views were utterly breathtaking! We visited in time to see the fall colors and we could see mountain ranges for miles and miles. Some maintenance issues still unresolved; washer and dryer do not work, which means that you can't wash your towels and the burners on the stove need repair. We couldn't do a lot of cooking. -

The location of the rental was incredible. We wathched the sunrise over the Smokey mountains and it was beautiful. We could relax in the hot tub and look out over the beautiful scenary. The rental was close enough to all the main attractions but far enough away not to hear the noises. When we had a small issue with the hot tub and when we called the sevice line they were out fast to fix it. If we had to improve upon anything it would be a raccoon proof trash can. We would recommend anyone to go to zip lining at Wears Valley zip line. The staff was very knowledgable, the price was reasonable, the views were amazing and it was fun. We will be back. I loved our cabin and I didn't want to leave it or Tennesse.

This nice little cabin is amazing. I really appreciate the owner's effort to keep it clean before we arrive there. Totally worth the money and felt very friendly. I might try a new cabin if I go back just to try something new but definitely recommend it for anybody.

Between the awesome view and the adorable cabin we had the best time of our lives.
We spent a great deal of time out on the deck enjoying the scenery and wildlife.
The grill was a plus as we cooked out and enjoyed our dinners, overlooking the mountains, just about every night.
It was also spectacular to wake up to the the gleaming rays from the sunrise every morning.
A must stay, perfect in every way! -

Location perfect
Service great
In the cabin we did stay in need a better cleaning. Stove is dangerous, sooo need a new one asap. Burners R not stable, had a hard time keeping the pans on them. Almost fell off on my leg :-/ Toaster toasted half the bread then it popped out onto the floor, lol :-) need a new one.
All in all we did enjoy the stay. -

We were looking for a relaxing stay with a view and certainly found that with this cabin. The cabin is very cute and warm. There is an abundance of wild life from racoons to bears. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, however the drive up the side of the mountain to reach the cabin is a "challenging adventure"! :)

Bear Hugs was a wonderful way to spend our spring break. The view was spectacular and everything about the cabin was in tip top shape! It was very difficult for me to leave and head back to Michigan after 4 days of feeling like we had been in paradise!
Thank you and we will most defintely use Bear Hugs again, perhaps sometime this fall.
Thank you,

we have stayed with american patriot on several occasions. the check in procedure is flawless. unfortunately this cabin was not as nice as the ones we have stayed in before. the gaming system was a super nintendo which speaks volumes to the last time this cabin was updated. the hot tub was literally black around the fixtures with mold/mildew. the jet tub was another issue, after deciding the hot tub could not be used, i filled the indoor jet tub and turned on the jets only to discover mold/mildew coming from the outlets. i had the phone in hand to call, but after talking with my wife we agreed that if all that was cleaned, we still would not use them after what we saw. i contacted apg after my stay and requested my cleaning fee be refunded (they complied after a couple emails, "only because i was a repeat customer").

I appreciate your bringing the matter to our attention. We are very strict about cleanliness and any time our cleaning crews fail to meet your expectations, we want to know about it. Had you called, we would have sent someone out to have cleaned it to your satisfaction. While we try to take care of our repeat guests, we would have extended the same service to any guest. Again I apologize and want you to know that we returned the cleaning fee because it was the right thing to do. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to make it right.

My husband and I really enjoyed our trip there. We had several days of alone time which was needed. We will be renting again in the near future. The agents at Patriot Point was very helpful in assisting me with my housing find. The location was perfect. I am glad that we did not go up the mountain any higher because I started to get afraid because we was in a big SUV and the roads was narrow and steep. Bare hugs may always be the cabin for our visits because we now know it location and the roads that leads there. Whoever did the decoration and placed all of the amenities in the cabin did a good job. They provided kitchen amenities that I would not have thought of until I would have needed them. After waking up the first morning with all of the light coming into the cabin I told my husband that I felt like a queen. What I liked best was the solitary that was provided to us while we was there. Only on two occasions did any vechile go past the cabin. I can definily say that the trip there was a dream come true. Thanks, Ricky and Josephine Howell

I have stayed in many of american Patriot Getaways' cabins and Bare Hugs is by far my favorite. It is perfect for a romantic getaway, very private, just the right size, hot tub, jacuzzi, absolutely beautiful view. Close enough to the city, but just far enough away. Wish I was there now.

My wife and I stayed here for our 20th wedding anniversary. Absolutely awesome views! Snowed on our anniversary, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It is a little hard to back out of the driveway, I found it easier to go past the cabin turn around at the next curve and come back down to the cabin and back into the driveway.
