Asheville, NCService is Key
Left on 02/07/2013 for a stay in January 2013
The cabin itself is not altogether bad, which is what saved this from being a 1-star rating. The view is nice and the cabin is clean. The neighborhood is quiet. Our problems started immediately, however. The major issues were:
1. None of the phones in the cabin worked. This is important, as none of our cell phones on various carriers could get a signal within walking distance from the cabin. We could not report any of the following complaints during our stay. When we pay to stay in a cabin, we pay to stay there - not to come and go. We should not have to leave the cabin to get service. Even so, we did try. Even when I could get a call out, no one answered.
2. There was a mouse downstairs. Yep.
3. The basement was freezing cold, and could not be heated to a comfortable temperature without overheating the rest of the cabin. Since two of the bedrooms and the game room were located there, this made our 5 bedroom cabin a 3-bedroom cabin. A 3-bedroom cabin without game room, to boot. The game room was one of the reasons we chose this cabin.
4. When I contacted the company about these complaints and others, I was given only a 10% refund. That is ridiculous. We got a cabin that was only 60% (or less, since we were without game room) of what we paid for. I was told this is more than is usually permitted, but that really doesn't help me, does it?
5. A few other minor complaints - don't you think the hot tub should be usable within a few hours of arrival? It took too many hours to heat up. The jets in one jacuzzi did not work. Why would there be a 10-minute timer on the fireplace? Adults can't be responsible enough to turn off the fireplace when it's hot in there? At least give us 30 minutes before we have to get up. It makes the whole thing a little hokey.
Having given such a review, I definitely should have taken pictures. I have no agenda against the cabin or company - just wanted to give a warning to those looking for a nice stay.

My agency took several individuals on vacation who have Developmental Disabilities 3 are in wheelchairs so it took some time to find a cabin that was wheelchair accessible. This cabin was spacious and beautiful, however after the 13 minute climb up some treacherous and unpaved road we reached the cabin. Things we did not know where that only the 1st and 2nd floors were accessible by wheelchair which was not a problem, however the bummer was that they are only accessible from outside the cabin, the 2nd floor only has 1 bedroom so our other 2 ladies had to take their baths at night then be rolled outside around the entire cabin and to the 1st floor where their bedrooms were this also had to be done during meal times. B/c we wnet in September the weather was not too bad just 1 rainy day but I could not imagine doing this in colder weather having to bundle up to bathe b/c access is only outside. Other than that we all truly enjoyed this trip and the cabin. The drive is difficult if you are not experienced and need 4 wheel drive knowing this now I would say just plan accordingly. Once you finally make it to the top of the Mountain it is worth it just to see the view.

The cabin was clean, and very nice. The only thing we did not care for was where it was located. I think it would have been better if the roads were paved all the way up to the cabin. I think some people would have a difficult time getting their vehicle up there.

We took our Sunday School group of women to the Tennessee Dreamer and loved it! We never left the cabin the whole weekend and are already planning on making this an annual trip. It was really easy to make arrangements to get into the cabin and the written directions were easy to follow. We decided that this cabin must have the best view in the neighborhood because it was gorgeous!

We had an enjoyable time but the last bit of driving to the house and drive way were rough to say the least. The coffee pots both of them didn't work, we had to ask the guy to come and light the fireplace he delayed 2 days then said if he came again there would be a charge--which was sad becasue they for got to light it. Also the racoons tore into the grbage every night becasue no cages. beds were uncomfortable, and the bottom bedroom water dripped in from some where.
