Pinos del Valle, Andalusia, Spain
What's Nearby:
Additional Location Information
As a location Pinos del Valle is a key village in the beautiful Valley of Lecrin. It has two bar/restaurants and a vibrant local culture. You can find other restaurants in the nearby villages of Melegis and Restobal.
If you wish to explore Andalusia, this is an excellent location. The property is within easy reach of the bays and beaches of the Costa Tropical, which is not overbuilt or too crowded, the beautiful Alpujarras, the Sierra Nevada and the historical city of Granada. Granada Airport is 40 minutes away and Malaga airport is an easy drive of less than two hours through spectacular scenery.
The Lecrin valley has been described in the UK Independent newspaper as one of the loveliest locations in Southern Spain. American Vogue described it as the "new Tuscany", and it offers a window on traditional Spain while still offering everything the holidaymaker needs.
Depending on the season, there are fantastic walks, horse riding, and cycling in the valley and beaches, water parks, golf, water sports and skiing nearby. See our website www.spanishcottageholidays.com for information about Spanish lessons, tapas tours of Granada, tours of the Albaicin, wine and food tasting of local specialties, walking trips, cycle tours, rock climbing, paragliding or courses in painting, cookery, flamenco, chef services or one-off meals for special occasions.

EdinburghPinos del Valle
Left on 02/22/2013 for a stay in July 2011
We visited Pinos del Valle in the summer of 2011. We were very impressed by the beautiful location which, whilst in a sleepy village, remained only 30 minutes from Granada and the wonderful alhambra (well worth a visit), and 30 minutes from the coast.
Our accommodation was very nice with plenty of space to relax in the sun or shade and watch the village life from the balcony which has a magnificent view across the village and valley beyond. Lots of local villages to visit with short trips and never too far to drive back home. We were also made very welcome at two evenings in a local town to watch music and dance events - not aimed at the tourist market but for the locals. Very refreshing.
There are some great walks in the area, the walk up to the chapel is really nice with some wonderful views of the village, valley and mountains, once you break through the tree line. It takes around an hour to get to the top.
It was also really helpful having Maria to give us tips on all the activities available.
We were so very impressed, we are going back this summer. We don't often repeat holidays, but the allure of Granada, and Pinos, was just too strong!

LondonA peaceful holiday in a lovely villa
Left on 02/18/2013 for a stay in August 2012
We had a lovely fortnight at the villa. With it's great pool and secluded location it was just what we were after. The villa had everything you need to have a comfortable stay and the owners were very helpful and sorted the couple of queries we had promptly. The village itself is picture perfect with old cobbled streets and sleepy villagers a plenty and a great rooftop bar with stunning views at sunset and free tapas. The village bakery was another highlight where we would go to every morning for delicious bread and croissants.

ParisVery pleasant time

Comfortable but fairly small rooms. A good situation in Village with shops and bar/restaurants. Good access by motorway to Granada and to the sea, and also into the Sierra Nevada/Alaphurra.
