Tuscany as it's meant to be enjoyed! A relaxing getaway, but also within easy reach of the treasures of Florence, Siena and Pisa. Seaside is forty minutes' drive. Ideal for walking or for hardy bikers who like challenging hills!

Top quality apartment with four double bedrooms on two floors, with garden and access to shared pool with fabulous views. The apartment is very spacious. There is a large living area and kitchen on each floor and 3 shower rooms. There is also a private terrace area.

Standing on a small hillock immediately off the road, Tuscan Skies has magnificent views all round. To one side, Volterra "city of mag...ic and mystery" stands on top of one side of the valley, while ancient Montecatini Val di Cecina sits on the other.

Tuscan Skies was built as two separate apartments which we have joined as one property. As a result, there is ample, airy space for our guests to relax and enjoy themselves. Guests comment on the high quality of furnishings.

On the upper floor there are two bedrooms (the master bedroom has an en-suite shower room; the other has its own shower room next door) and a lounge room with access to a small terrace - ideal for sitting in the evening. This room can double up as a further double bedroom with a top quality sofa bed. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room. There is a substantial, fully-equipped kitchen/livng room with magnificent views to Volterra..

The lower floor has a double room with four-poster bed. This floor has its own comfortable living area with fully-appointed kitchen and separate large shower room. A spacious separate room with double bed settee can be used as an additional bedroom. (Alternatively, the bed settee can be moved into the living area to provide comfortable seating for larger groups). The private garden with barbecue overlooks the Val di Cecina and Montecatini.

External access to the upper floor is via the courtyard and to the lower floor via the garden entrance.

Additional Location Information

In Western Tuscany, an hour or so drive from Florence, Siena, and Pisa (nearest airport). San Gimignano is 30 minutes away. Andrea Bocelli's home town of Lajatico and his wonderfully atmospheric Teatro del Silenzio are 15 minutes. The area has many interesting mediaeval hilltop towns and villages.

Nearby Volterra has history in abundance - a former Etruscan capital which was subsequently inhabited by the Romans and then ruled by the Medici family
