    Additional Location Information

Vicopisano is a beautiful medieval village in the heart of Tuscany, and just minutes from major highways such as the A11 and the FI-PI-LI, which will quickly transport you to such famous cities as Pisa, Florence, Lucca, Volterra, Siena and San Gimignano. For those who prefer the beach, some of the best coastline can be found just minutes away. Whatever your ideas of a perfect vacation are, Tuscany can meet them with incredible sight-seeing; fun beaches; delicious regional cooking; local produce and wine tasting. Despite its central location, Vicopisano remains an unspoilt and light-traffic village. One of the best ways to visit it, is to walk along its lanes admiring its impressive monuments up close. The area is also popular for its hiking and biking trails, horse-riding and other out-door activities. The natural park of San Rossore, close to the Tower of Pisa, has a dense network of pines, oaks, poplars and ash which are protected by high sand dunes giving shelter to all manner of sea-birds and birds. The park is the natural habitat of wild boars, foxes and deer, and boasts a large horse-racing track. Close to Vicopisano you will find "The Certosa" an often overlooked monastry and natural history museum.

Nice place in charming medieval village

Left on 04/02/2013 for a stay in March 2013

This is a charming, small medieval village, with an old chateau on the hill. Well situated between Pida, Lucce and Florence. Sara was a great erson to deal with; prompt, pleasant and went out of her way to help.
