Beautifully Secluded 1880's Cottage in Pitlochry

Oak Cottage is set in a beautifully secluded 1880's building, which was once the stables of a large house (now the Knockendarroch Hotel). It is in a very quiet location, yet within a few minutes' walk of the shops, local services, restaurants and amenities of the town. The flat sleeps two people in spacious comfort and there is an enclosed small but very private garden.

The small town of Pitlochry is one of Scotland's most sought after holiday destinations and with good reason. The area appeals to walkers of all grades, cyclists, skiers and people with an interest in natural history. There are over 50 Munros (that is mountains above 3,...000 feet) within an hours' drive. There are also numerous way - marked paths, including many which begin in Pitlochry itself. Four of Scotland's skiing areas are less than 2 hours' drive away. Ospreys can be seen at the Loch of the Lowes by Dunkeld from April to September, goosanders, common sandpipers and dippers frequent the rivers and golden plovers and golden eagles may be seen above the hills and moors. Rare arctic alpine flowers are to be found on Ben Lawers, while in summer the oak woods in the river valleys are alive with song birds, such as willow warbler, wood warblers pied fly catchers and redstart.

There is an 18 hole golf course in Pitlochry itself and Gleneagles and St. Andrew's golf courses are within easy driving distance. Edinburgh, Fort William, Glencoe and Royal Deeside (with Balmoral castle and Crathie church) are all within 2 hours' drive.

Locally there are excellent leisure / fitness facilities, 2 bowling greens, a putting green and the beautifully situated Festival Theatre is within walking distance of the flat (15 - 20 minutes). This world famous theatre is well worthy of at least one visit during a stay.Read more

Additional Location Information

Oak Cottage is approximately 6 minutes walking distance from the town centre where you will find a variety of shops, restaurants and local cafes. There is an excellent rail service to London, with an overnight sleeper stopping at Pitlochry. The flat is 10 minutes walk from the station. If you arrive by car, parking is in the cobbled courtyard just outside the property.
