Villa Athena consists of a two-floor traditional villa of 150 sq.mt (1600 sq.ft), and a 50 sq. mt (533 sq. ft) independent stone apartment,with a spacious outdoor area and a magnificent garden, full of colors, fragrances and local flora. The combination of stone and wood, with the surrounding olive grove creates a tranquil and comfortable environment The first floor of the villa consists of two bedrooms, each with two beds. On the ground floor there is a very big living room, dining room and kitchen, together with the bathroom and fireplace. The unique benefits of Villa Athena is its tranquil environment that makes it feel as a perfect retreat from the city, while being a 5 minute drive from anything one could miss from the city. The beauty of its gardens, the audors and colors makes the environment as relaxing as it can get. Its strategic location close to all the main roads and sights makes touring in Crete very comfortable. Together with the local tastes and drinks that you can enjoy in Crete, it feels like life cannot get any better. It is very difficult for one no to fully recharge here.
Villa Athena is located 500 mt north from a sandy beach, with shallow cool waters. The beach, is next to the Amirandes Resort, which is one of the most luxurious hotels on the island.
Aposelemis river is located just 500m north of Villa Athena. It flows 19km east of Iraklion, between Analipsi and Kato Gouves, and is one of the most important wetlands in northern Crete.

Our stay in Heraklion (close to Kato Gouves) was very very nice! The apartment was perfectly clean, spacious, light, airy, fully equipped and very comfortable. It really corresponded to the provided description! The house is conveniently close to the village center, the market and a number of bars, restaurants, tavernas. It's easy to go to Heraklion for culture, shopping or entertainment but it is also just on the sea. Its favourable position provides hosts with a wide selection of wonderful beaches both going toward agios Nikolaos or Heraklion. The owners were very kind supporting us with travel indications and first local hints. We felt like at home and we will surely stay there in the future if we will have again the opportunity to visit Crete.
