St Petersburg, FL, United StatesOverall very nice stay, lots of disparity in premium room style.
Left on 11/27/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We upgraded to a superior room in order to get a better/newer tv to watch a game we were interested in. The first superior room we went to there was a 20 inch box tv from about 15 years ago. Also nothing had been updated and the furniture was old. The next room they offered us was updated for the most part and had a slightly better tv, but still some old furniture. I wouldn't normally care about a tv in a place like this however we had an interest in a particular football game that day. Overall I just wanted to make sure we were getting our value for upgrading to a superior room since there is so much difference between rooms. There may need to be an adjustment in the rating or more detail about rooms when paying this premium.

every thing was great. The only thing that would have made it better was the bed, it was lumpy and as hard as a board.

Palm Island is a clean, beautiful, quiet, and very restful resort. Our 4-day stay was truly a great vacation. The shelling was wonderful too. Definitely will go back (and hopefully, sooner rather than later!)

North Port, FL, United StatesA Peaseful and enjoyable vacation
Left on 05/24/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Upon early arrival we were very pleased that every effort was made to make available our unit early. This being our first visit to the island we found the 1 bed room unit a real delight and very comfortable. Beautiful view of the gulf and pool. We could live in this unit! The Rumbay restaurant has great food options and indoor and outside seating. The whole staff was very professional. Both Jeff and Dan handled our baggage with care. The beach was great and pool & hot tub very inviting. Don't be afraid to consider Palm Island Resort for your vacation!

St Petersburg, FL, United StatesMay 1st stay
Left on 05/06/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We loved discovering the island and plan to return however there were a few issues with the condo. The toilet was not working upon our arrival, the kitchen sink faucet was broken, the remote in the bedroom was a cable remote but there was no cable box so we could not use it and, there was a useless VCR in the living room instead of a DVD. The other issue that we had concerned the fraternity that was at the resort the same evening that we were. A large group chose to party outside our unit and when they were still very noisy at 12:30 AM I had to call the resident manager to send security over so that we could sleep. After this, we were disappointed the next morning when we were denied a late checkout.

Sarasota, FLAwesome beach, OK accomodations, poor check-in staff
Left on 12/05/2011 for a stay in December 2011
The beach was empty...really nice to have a villa right on the Gulf. The people at check-in were less than friendly. The villa was quite dated. The villa was clean, the sheets looked like they were probably the original sheets. The restaurant staff was nice and friendly. The bathroom at Leverocks smelled like it had never been cleaned.

Left on 11/17/2011 for a stay in October 2011
Overall all was good except for the God awful fish smell on the beach the first 4 days. Our unit wasn`t all that clean and the bathroom sink drain was very slow, The drapes in the bedroom were in terrible condition (torn and so thin you were afraid to touch them), the TV in the living didn`t work one hight and we had to call maintenance. The TV needs replacing it`s very old and small.

It was off season, on a Friday night. Barely anybody around. The place was great, fantastic view and unforgetable sunset. We didn't get to try the pool or any amenities because we checked in late so make sure you check in as early as possible so you can enjoy the resort.

Left on 09/07/2011 for a stay in September 2011
The unit could use some updating - bed was hard as a rock and curtains were showing their age. However, it was very clean. Would be nice to have a bit more of a grocery store on site as well as a restaurant that served breakfast. Everyone at the resort
was very nice - especially Dustin at Coconuts. He was very friendly and helpful. The location is wonderful. We were in unit 3124 (2nd floow 1 BR Gulf View) and the view from the screened balcony was priceless. That view takes the cake! We can't wait to get

My wife and I went on our honeymoon in August to Palm Island and loved it! Being the off season allowed us to have a lot of privacy. The weather was great, the water was very warm, and the staff were all very polite. We ended up staying an extra two nights
because we loved it so much. We will definitely go again! -

Left on 08/30/2011 for a stay in August 2011
On Sunday morning, the day of our departure, I called the front desk and Jeff answered politely; I then went on, this is Mr. Gonzalez from unit 3124 and I have a problem; He then answered, what kind of a problem and how can I help you? I said to him, the
problem is, we don't want to leave this place. He chuckled and said, that is a good problem have Mr. Gonzalez. Of course we left that day but have not stopped talking about the resort and planning our return. -

Palm Island is removed from the commercials atmosphere of the mainland. We can walk the beach, play tennis, bicycle, swim, read, relax in a friendly atmosphere. Everyone is helpful and share why we are there. No cars allowed is the best! The resort is very clean and well-maintained.

ST LOUIS, MOVery Disappointed With Villa
Left on 08/24/2010 for a stay in August 2010
I was disappointed that the villa I usually stay in was not available to rent but had high hopes for this one. The mirrors on every wall in the bathroom, no towel racks, no chest of drawers to put clothes in and another wall of mirrors in the bedroom were all sub standard and looked 'cheap' compared with villas I have stayed in in the past. This was my 12th visit and I considered looking for somewhere else to go next year. The villa seemed old and clean but just 'junkie' and it smelled like fish.

BOCA RATON, FLWe love Palm Island, but bed was uncomfortable!
Left on 08/05/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We always enjoy Palm Island, but the bed in 3124 was uncomfortable! And, if you can't get a good night's sleep when you go somewhere to rest and recuperate, that really has a negative effect on one's whole trip. The apartment is great otherwise, but you've got to get a better and more comfortable mattress if you want guests to return. This was my wife's opinion, too. So, please improve the bed in 3124 - it's a relatively small price to pay. In fact, you might just get a foam topper, like they sell in Costco for $150 - and that would probably do it. But the bed was too firm and uncomfortable. Otherwise, the property looked very good, and we love the place.
