On the southern edge of Crete, this villa rental in Greece in the town of Plakias offers a mix of modern and traditional Cretan life. You’ll love lounging by your own private pool, taking in the scenery, or having lunch on the terrace or balcony of this Greece rental villa. But you’ll also enjoy the town of Plakias itself, just outside this villa in Greece and big enough to have a range of activities but small enough to retain its traditional charm. The beautiful south-facing bay is ideal for swimming and sunbathing, while the hills behind provide wonderful trails through olive groves and beyond.

[300 m2] This is a newly con...structed Greek villa rental, built in a modern style, with a covered terrace and private swimming pool [4m x 7m, 1.4m deep] with lounge chairs, sunshades, and a garden shower. You also have a barbecue for outdoor dining. The local property representative will meet you at a prearranged place and guide you to the villa. At that point [or, if your arrival time is late, the following day], the representative will answer any questions and introduce you to the spectacular island of Crete. A representative will also remain available on a 24-hour help line for any further assistance you might need.

Ground floor: Entering the ground floor of this villa will bring you to a spacious living/dining room with satellite TV, plenty of couch room, and a dining table with seating for six. An open-plan kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, oven, microwave, cook-top, and coffee machine. The ground floor also has one bathroom with a sink, toilet, and tub with handheld showerhead.

First floor: An internal staircase leads to the first level, which opens into a mezzanine level with one 90 cm twin bed. Beyond this there are three bedrooms: the first contains two 90 cm twin beds, while the second and third each have a 160 cm queen-sized bed. They share one bathroom with toilet, sink, and tub with handheld showerhead.

This Greek island villa on Crete is right in Plakias, 100 meters from the beach. The sand runs in a long strip around the bay, offering areas of both sand and pebbles; there are also spots good for snorkeling and, at the far end, for nudists. The atmosphere of the town can be busy at times, and there are plenty of restaurants along with two discos and a number of bars. The town is an excellent base for walking and cycling in the quiet countryside, offering paths at every level of difficulty. You’ll also want to take a day trip to Rethymnon to visit the sixteenth century Venetian Fortezza, imposing in itself but also the location of the annual Rethymnon Renaissance Festival. If you’re interested in the history of the island you may also want to step into the Historical and Folk Art Museum for a taste of traditional Cretan ceramics, textiles, artifacts, jewelry, and clothing from across the centuries.

  The villa was fantastic - perfectly situated, very comfortable, clean, and a great place to relax, swim and sleep. It was very, very peaceful there.
  
  The villa was very clean and modern, the owner was there to meet us and answer all of our questions. He also came by every day to clean the pool and water the plants. As a result the property looked fantastic our entire stay.

  Plakias is a perfect little getaway. Big enough to have everything you need but small enough to feel that you're away from it all. My family and I loved it.

  It was great.
  
  The close proximity to the village so we could walk two blocks for coffee or food in the morning, no driving required. Also the outside veranda was wonderful. Our "contact-property manger" Phillip, who was wonderful and helpful and a source of information.
  
  The view, or lack thereof. Only one possible view of the mountains, none of the sea, and the rest was of construction.
  
  The water and the restaurants.
