Tamarindo is the closest beach (9 min by car) and Playa Avellanas is 10 min away and a great surfing spot off the beaten track , so there is a lot of open beach , One of the nicest beaches and a wonderful place called Lola's !!! We are 500 yds away from main road. please do not hesitate to email me or call me for any questions you might have . It's a very lovely, private and safe location. Visit and stay in the real Costa Rica , we are a little country and 10 min to the 'big city' Tamarindo , as it feels once you drive down the road, and pull into Quinta del Sol, the peace and quiet is the best !

Upon meeting Enrique in Tamarindo, he immediately made us feel welcome and safe. He invited us to ride with him to the house and answered all our questions, even the most basic, with honesty and professionalism. His tour of the house was thorough and reflected the care he put into the upkeep of the property. Enrique was so helpful in organizing sailing trips, New Years Eve dinner, and surfing lessons. His suggestions for day trips were casual and we never pressure to book with his many contacts around the town.
The house was well stocked with all the amenities we needed. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, with air conditioners that worked very quickly. The bathrooms were clean and in good repair. The pool, lounge chairs and outdoor living room were our favourite part of the house and well used. He was quick to respond to any question or issue we had (needed to change the propane tank in the middle of cooking dinner, and Enrique was over within minutes).
Enrique is a wonderful host, knowledgeable and respects your privacy. Highly recommend! -

Home owners Enrique & Natalie couldn't be more accommodating to us. From the very beginning they guided us through the many questions we had from the currency, language, transportation, restaurants, excursions, and wildlife. When traveling to another country, you want to find people you can trust and they certainly fit the bill. The home is as beautiful as the pictures and what a treat it is to stay at this rental. The location of the home is perfect, where as you are so close to town but still in a very remote setting. This rental provides all the comforts of home with great neighbors and it is kept in an immaculate state. It is a peaceful and beautiful place to stay during your visit to Tamarindo. The first night of our stay, after driving 4 hours, we had Enrique schedule a chef to have a dinner prepared upon our arrival and it was delicious. We highly recommended this great home and the outstanding service that we received. Can't wait for our next visit.

Our stay in this beautiful home was July 26th - Aug.4th '12. I stayed in the detached bedroom, 2 couples and an 11 yr. old, stayed in the main house bedrooms. The house was perfect for us, and complimented our different tastes. The yards and pool beautiful, and the Bdrms & Bthrms were private enough for our group. The inside living area is spacious and comfortably decorated & furnished. The outside living area was wonderful. We Bbq'd a few nights and we were fortunate enough to have the monkeys drop by one night for a visit in the backyard trees! Lots of geckos, iguanas, frogs, birds, and other treats right at your door! Enrique and his wife, Natalie, live right next door and were very helpful, arranging a spa day for us girls, and our aTV & zip line tours, which by the way, both days were outstanding. I would highly recommend renting a SUV versus a car. You have to drive about 3 miles on a dirt road to get to the home. As it was, our car took a beating because there are a lot of dirt roads in and around the area, so a SUV would be ideal, no matter what, unless you plan on just staying at the home. Most of the tours we took and areas we wanted to venture to were off of dirt roads. The main huge store, Auto Mercado, is very nice and has all you could possibly need and more! But if you're just out to buy beer, soda, or little items, you can find them at littler stores along your way into Tamarindo. At the end of our stay we had quite a few items left over; i.e., TP, paper towels, condiments, fruit & veggies, etc. We offered them to the less fortunate families along the road to the home. They were so appreciative. All of the people in Costa Rica were lovely, and very welcoming. While at Quinta del Sol we felt very safe and secure. I highly recommend Enrique & Natalie's home! I can guarantee they'll make sure your stay in their home and in Tamarindo is very enjoyable! Thank you Enrique & Natalie, we all had a fabulous time!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It was very private, and relaxing with all the amenities of home, including television and wi-fi. It was a pleasure to wake up to the howling monkeys in the back garden, and take a leisurely dip in the pool before heading off on an adventure. Enrique and his wife went out of their way to accommodate all of our needs, and offered a wealth of travel information. They were flexible with our check in and check-out needs which made our stay that much more enjoyable.

We stayed in this beautiful house from the mid January to the end of May.
It is really difficult to sum up in words how much I enjoyed staying at Quinta del Sol but I would like to share some highlights with you.
Peace: it really is a peaceful place- you are surrounded by beautiful nature and when you are there you feel like you are the only person on earth, beautiful birds, huge trees, howler monkeys in the garden... amazing!
Quality: no expense has been spared in the construction, maintenance and equipment. The house is in perfect order; it is equipped with everything you could ever need (including a fantastic Weber gas BBQ!) and everything works perfectly.
Hospitality: the owners, Enrique and Nat go out of of their way to make you feel welcome and cared for. I was treated like an old friend and nothing was too much trouble.
Privacy: it goes without saying that this house is totally private but at the same time not isolated.
Value: I feel that this house is really good value for money considering how much you get in terms of the highlights that I have mentioned!
Location: beautiful natural surroundings, convenient distance from the busy town of Tamarindo and the surrounding beaches, a short drive to a World class golf course and only one hour's from Liberia International airport make for a perfect location.
I recommend Quinta del Sol as your choice for your vacation, you will not be sorry and you will fall in love with the place and never want to leave.

Hi Enrique, we had a fantastic honeymoon. Your house was everything we wanted and more. The privacy of the location was excellent. Enrique's knowledge of the area and things to do was priceless. The grounds were kept very beautiful and the backyard was your own personal oasis. The Rancho was definetly where we spent most of our time when we were at the house. This was my first trip to Costa Rica and my first trip out of the country with my daughters as a single mom. Not only was the property absolutely beautiful and well maintained, but I felt very secure. Enrique was a fantastic host!!! It was very reasuring to me to have someone who lived near by. Enrique not only showed us around town, but he checked on us periodically to be we were okay and had everything we needed. You cannot beat the value and service!!! Enrique, you are the best!!!

House was pretty cool it had everything we needed, great outdoor environment!!! Having a private pool def made the house worth it! Super super super comfortable!!! Only big con were the streets, the condition of the unpaved streets was worse than expected.

Our stay at the Quinta del sol villa was exceptional. We arrived smoothly and were given the keys to paradise. We live in the country and rent homes 5 to 6 times a year in the Guancaste area. This is a place we will definetly visit again and bring family and friends.

I have stayed at Quinta Del Sol many times but my last trip has to be most memeroble, being that we had 14 people most nights gathering under the rancho relaxing and eating, drinking and being very happy since we all had not seen each other in quite some time . Ages 21-60 all had a great time mainly because of the peace and solitude the villa lends itself to . Most folks stayed in Tam but for all od us a 10 min ride to and from town is nothing and out to avanella ( the nicest beach in all of CR I think ) . We cooked out on the big webber , had nightly swims to cool off, and listened to some great music under the rancho, some of the kids went out for runs in the am , then surfing in town , and back out for sunset at the beach , we also went out sailing, one day which was fantastic. So if you are looking for the perfect place to relax and dont mind a few bumps in the road ( it is dirt part way) then i would highly suggest Quinta del Sol , there is nothing like leaving the action of Tamarindo to the peacfulness of Rio Santo ! Have fun the owner is a great guy whom will go out of his way to assist you any way he can !
