My family (6 people) stayed for one week in this excellent penthouse.
It's a large and comfortable 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom penthouse with private swimming pool very well located in Playa del Carmen.
It has the necessary amenities and we had an excellent support from Moskito - the company which manages it.
The only point that could be improved is wireless internet connection, which is somewhat slow and has an weak signal in the penthouse.
If I go back to Playa del Carmen I will stay in this apartment again, and I strongly recommend it. -

Excellent place to stay. Beautiful views, comfortable, clean, great service from everybody we met. Tips from Laura were great, she was a big help and had a nice attitude.
I would recommend you have an umbrella and few beach chairs for your renters as the clubs were noisy and not what we wanted.
Several of our friends also staying at aldea Thai loved your unit and asked us about how we found it. -

My husband and I stayed in Playa del Carmen for our honeymoon and can't say enough good things about this place!
The location is perfect! You are a quick walk to the beach (less than a block) and close to all the restaurants and shops!
This condo is luxury all the way! With the private pool and seating area on the rooftop you can rest in relaxation without the worry of being bothered by other guests.
We are already planning to go back again next year as our experience at this condo was far superior to that of the 5 star all-inclusive resort that we stayed at in Riviera Maya after our stay in Playa.
I would highly recommend this place for anyone going to Playa as you will not be disappointed! -

The three bedrooms and living area are spacious and well decorated - all have their own TV. The main bedroom has a king-sized bed with a bathtub/separate rain shower with sink/toilet and individual a/C control. The 2nd bedroom has a king-sized bed with separate tub/shower/toilet/sink and individual a/C control. This room does not have a view to but is very nice. The 3rd bedroom has 2 full beds with a small walk-out deck and a great view of the ocean. The bathroom is located next to this room small, but functional. The main living/kitchen area is spacious with a/C control, large kitchen table and a "L” shaped couch. The kitchen - stove top, microwave, refrigerator, toaster oven and is well-stocked with glasses, plates, cookware etc. Water is provided in a bottled water dispenser. Large rooftop with a great view of the ocean with a small pool. Plenty of seating, lighting, lounge chairs, table etc. Overlooks other condo rooftops, but we only saw 3 other condos use their rooftop - very peaceful day/night. The condo is located in a fantastic location - 3 min walk to beach; 5 min walk to 5th ave; 10 min walk to bank; 15-20 min walk to grocery store. Nightlife from the street could not be heard. There is a common pool for use in the complex - we never used it and only saw less than 5 people at a time using it. The property mgr took good care of us and even arranged transportation to/from the airport. Housekeeping services daily - did a great job. Towels for the beach provided; beach clubs within 3-4 min walk. Wireless internet works well.
Improvements:
The air conditioning unit that cooled the 3rd bedroom/main living area went out twice. 1st time fixed within 4-5 hours; 2nd time took 30 hours; Small leak above the master bedroom sink - was fixed within 4-5 hours of discovery - occurred every few days; Concierge service - don't expect anything; Pool Bar - there is a swim up pool bar in the main swimming pool of the complex, but it was never open

My wife an I along with 3 friends spent 6 glorious days at Penthouse 317 at the aldea Thai condominiums in Playa del Carmen this January. Where can I begin...the location, right in the bustling "Little Italy" section of Playa, right on the beach and around the corner from scores of great restaurants and shops on 5th avenue. Next door to Mamitas beach club but on the far side so you were never bothered by the music or noise. The building is impressive with great architecture and a great pool. The unit was huge, gorgeous and spotless. The beds were very comfortable, showers nice and hot. The decor was very nice but we didn't spend too much time indoors. The daily maid service was very good. Alas I save the best for last, that roof top patio took the cake. Very large and clean with a sun lounging area, a shade lounging area, an eating area and oh yeah, your own private pool. Did I mention the view of the crystal blue Caribbean? This is the super high end luxury of Playa although the rates we thought were very reasonable. If you have these means, or a few friends that would split the rent I can not think of any reason not to spend your next vacation here.

We spent most of our time on the rooftop level. It was awaesome. The location was perfect to enjoy all that Playa Del Carmen has to offer. The staff at aldea Thai were very helpful especially Laura.

Pulling off a good vacation requires research. With time and effort the chances of the vacation being a total success is still slim. My wife and I are experienced travelers and there aren't too many exotic beaches we haven't touched. Life as you get older gets a bit more complicated with time, and a child adds an even newer dimension into the mix. My Playa Del Carmen days were way behind me when 5th ave was still a dirt road in the late 90's but I can say now, again, that Playa Del Carmen is our families destination of choice and aldea Thai will be our home away from home for the next few years. The Security at the entrances, the proximity to North Beach and not to mention the ambiance of the apartment and the rooftop deck well... makes you feel pretty cool. Everything is happening these days North of Constityuentes so walking to the best restaurants is minutes away. Eileen's caretakers of the home couldn't have been more helpful and we had direct access to their services 24h each day which made you feel good that there was always somebody to talk to being new parents who are still out there trying to live the 'travelers dream'.

The condo comfortably accommodates 6 guests. The interior is modern, functional and clean and the private balcony with plunge pool and view of the ocean is unreal. We would definitely stay here again! I love that it's located on quieter and what I consider to he hipper end of avenida 5. Street level private access and shower to playa mamitas is also a big plus. The common areas are spectacular as well. The PM was very sweet and knowledgeable. If I were to make a tiny complaint it would be that the PM company is offsight. Overall we loved this place. I just wish I had more time to spend there!

We have been to mexico 10-15 times staying in cancun, isla, and playa and this condo was by far the best accom. that we have ever had! Only blocks away from 5th ave, location on cool beach was superb!! All bedrooms were very nice, kitchen was perfect, and the living room was very nice! The roof-top pool and the view was unbeliveable!! The only small downside was that not enough american TV!! Loved TIS place!! Don from kc!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Playa at the Aldea Thai.
The location was perfect...right between the beach and 5th Avenue.
The penthouse itself was exceptional...tastefully appointed in every aspect...all of the appliances and electronics were current and in great working order. Plenty of space for all six of us. Loved the daily maid service :)
The rooftop and plunge pool were a great bonus!
Our only issue was the music levels at both the pool and the other roof top guests. We had to ask for assistance numerous times to turn the volume down.
We hope to visit again some day! -

Recently stayed in this beautiful condo steps away from the beach. The condo layout is terrific and provides privacy between the three bedrooms with lots of space and all the amenities you could ask for. The beds were more comfortable than mine at home! The roof top private patio with plunge pool is so amazing that we hardly left it for the beach. The location is truly perfect, steps from the beach and a block from the main drag with tons of restaurants and great shopping. No need to rent a car as they arranged for a van to and from the airport. The concierge found a great driver and guide for us for a day trip to Coba with door to door service. The condo was clean and well equipped and we had an amazing and relaxing visit. We can't wait to go back and will definitely rent this condo again!

We learned about Playa Del Carmen on Tripadvisor when researching a combination anniversary getaway and family vacation. We then started to zero in on the best beach in Playa for a vacation rental that would be romantic and would also work for a family of four. We wanted to spend 5 days alone and then fly our 2 sons down to spend the next 5 days with us. We thankfully found Dave and Eileen's Penthouse Vacation Home in Playa for our 10 day stay.
The vacation home was more than we had hoped for. It was much nicer than our own home!! We had a gourmet kitchen, private rooftop terrace with great beach views, our own private plunge pool, 3 bedrooms, ocean views from most rooms, the latest technology throughout and a great complex pool. When our 2 sons arrived they each had their own bedroom. What a pleasure for all. This home is actually large enough for 2 families.
Dave and Eileen made the renting process easy. They were more than happy to answer our many questions, they offered great suggestions on what to do and see in Playa and were even available by phone while we were in Playa. They actually called us after we were there for 2 days to see if we needed anything. We told them everything was great and better than we had imagined.
We had a great combination romantic/family vacation, a great vacation home and great service from the owners. Our only regret is that we are not there now!!! We have already booked our next stay in the same home.
