We spent five nights in a first floor condo at HoraFeliz in March 2013 and were absolutely delighted with it. We spent a while looking for a reasonably priced condo in PDC at Easter and found this to be pretty good value. The condo we had was a good size, bright, airy, clean and well furnished. The layout was ideal for us with a bedroom area separated from the living area by a funky half-height dividing wall. The kitchen was really well stocked with sufficient crockery and utensils for our needs and the fridge and icebox were a decent size. The bathroom was bright and clean with plenty of hot water and the bedroom had sufficient storage/bedside tables for us to unpack all of our stuff. We also appreciated the mosquito net above the bed and the bedside lights. Best bonus of all was the two terraces, one looking over the internal courtyard with a hammock for siesta time and the other looking over the street where you could listen to the live music from a nearby restaurant in the afternoons & evenings (fab seafood too!) We loved it! Only difficulty we had was finding the entrance on arrival, it has a large gate with intercom but is part-hidden by climbing bushes. If you find the juice-bar on the corner, the entrance is just nextdoor on the right hand side as you face the building. The owners live just upstairs if you need anything but we had no issues at all during our stay and were really pleased with the cleaning service including fresh towels and bedding most days we were there. The wifi access was reliable and free. The beach was just 5 minutes walk away and the main part of fifth avenue where all the restaurants and bars are located started just around the corner. In the other direction, 30th avenue is just 5/10 mins walk away where we found a large supermarket, launderette and an internet place with printers for printing out our boarding passes. We arrived into PDC at the main ado bus station and our taxi to Horafeliz was only 40 pesos (about £2GBP).

Horafeliz is located on the North end of Playa del Carmen's 'walking mall' of restaurants and bars and is only a couple minutes walk away from the beach. It's an easy walk to catch a cab (took us about 40 minutes to the airport) and colectivo as well.

We loved our stay at the Horafeliz! Only three blocks from the beach and two blocks from the walking mall, the location was excellent. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and breezy. Two balconies made for relaxing nights sipping a cerveza while listening to kids playing in the street. It was just lovely! For those who want to be in the middle of the action, this apartment may be a little too far away (the walking mall is 20 blocks long, and the apartment is at the far north end, so a 10-15 block walk to the dance clubs). However, there were many great bars and restaurants close by. The mini kitchen was adequate for cooking simple meals, with two tiendas (corner stores) within a few blocks.
Excellent hospitality, clean digs, and a wonderful host. We will return! -

Consigliato a tutti! Avrete stanze ampie, belle e coloratissime -di grande ispirazione per chi vuole cambiare colore a tende e pareti una volta tornato a casa... ;) -, una cucina dotata di tutto (caffettiera compresa!) per serate in relax... e tutto questo a due passi dalla 5^ avenida e dal mare!!!
Marco e Daniela vi sapranno consigliare su escursioni e ristoranti, quindi... prenotate subito e divertitevi! ^__- -

Siamo stati all'horaffeliz il periodo dal 23 dicembre al 29 il periodo piu affolato dal turismo ma si dormiva tranquillamente perche lontano dalla 5 avenue ma anche vicino a piedi .la camera e' spaziosa e arieggiata pulita anche se un po spartana fornita di angolo cottura aria condizionata e ventola . Marco e Daniela sono speciali e disponibili e ti danno tutte le dritte per muoverti consigliato vivamente

I loved my studio, it was perfect! Nice porch overlooking the street on the third floor with a beautiful flowering bougainvillea plant blooming outside my window. The location was magnificent just a short walk to the beautiful beach, and still tucked away from the main down town area for a peaceful nights rest. Well decorated apartment with a lovely style, clean, and well kept. Wonderful honest, kind and sincere service from the owners, a beautiful Italian family. Helpful housekeeping service at least once a week, from a very sweet housekeeper. This place made my stay in Playa del Carmen incredibly delightful. I'd stay there again any day, and recommend it to my family and friends!

gli appartamenti sono completamente arredati, nuovi e pulitissimi, la cucina funzionale e completa di tutto. la posizione e' il punto di forza di questi appartamenti: a pochi passa dalla splendida spiaggia di playa e dalla avenida 5, con bar, ristoranti, negozi e movida. cio' nonostante la zona e' tranquillissima, perche' leggermente defilata.
i proprietari poi, marco e daniela, da buoni emiliani, ci hanno saputo accogliere molto caldamente e ci hanno riempito di attenzioni e preziosi consigli che solo chi vive li' da anni ti puo' dare. una delle piu' belle vacanze della nostra vita, certamente da ripetere. -

Well located apartment just 3 blocks from the beach. Laundry around the corner and a small grocery store. One block to 5th avenue though approx 10 blocks to the centre. Bed is kingsize and comfortable. Fridge.and fullyset up kitchen though no tea towel. Daniela gave us a list of recommended restaurants which was very useful. Daniela and Mark are friendly and helpful.

We just came back of our 1 month vacation, we are a young couple with a 6 months old wonderful little girl. We had a wonderful time, as soon a we arrived, we were welcomed by Daniela and Marco, the two owners, who are the nicest people you can meet. Every morning we were having fresh juice prepared by Daniela, on the first floor of the building. And after that we were going for a short walk to the beach (coco beach), which is just down the road about 5 minutes. Just across the street, there is 2 seafood restaurants, Pirata, which is considered to be the best seafood restaurant in Playa, and there is Manigua, which is about the same, with really friendly staff. The location of the hotel, on the 40th and the 5th avenue is perfect, because you are in the nicest place of Playa, nice restaurants, and little shops. We used to go for a walk every night on the 5th avenue, it was really nice. I really recommend this place to stay, if you stay a week or 2 months, you won't be disappointed. Gracias Daniela and Marco, we miss you already.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Horafeliz for 10 days as its perfectly situated in Playa del Carmen. A 5 minute walk to the bustle of downtown, great access to the beach, all the while in a quiet and safe part of town. Its also great to use as a base for a bit of exploring of the region - we hired a car for a couple of days and visited Coba, Tulum and various cenotes in the area. We had a good sized room, plenty of storage space and clean. Loved the hammock on the balcony! Daniela and Marco were lovely hosts, very helpful in arranging transfers, local info, restaurant tips etc. They also own a great little juice shop next to the apartment.

We were 2 girls in our early 20's visiting PDC for the first time. We hadn't really planned much of the trip, but luckily Daniela and Marco were more than helpful.
We asked them for recommendations on restaurants, shops, and activities around the area- and they were delightful every time. They helped us plan our trip so we can get the most for our budget and time. They suggested we take the colectivo transportation from downtown, which saved us a lot of money. The walk from the condo to the colectivo station was about 15 minutes, but it goes by fast if you walk down 5th ave and check out all the shops. They helped us arrange excursions outside of PDC and made sure we were accommodated.
We both got sunburned pretty badly but they were kind enough to let us take some aloe from their garden. The condo was very clean and quiet. The aC and internet worked well, and the amenities were great. We shared a king sized bed, and watched cable TV on a flat-screen. Daniela owns a juice shop downstairs and hand makes every order. Fresh juices for 25 pesos were the highlight of every morning.
The owners spoke fluent English, Spanish, and Italian (and maybe more!) so communication was a breeze. They responded to emails quickly and were very easy to get along with.
This condo is highly recommended if you are looking for a comfortable and affordable stay in PDC. I will definitely return!Response from HORAFELIZ Condo Apartment - 09/16/2011

Daniela and Marco are the perfect hosts: warm, kind, plenty of useful advices. The apartment was very nice and clean, quiet and comfy. (So comfy that sometimes we preferred having dinner at home!) The location is great if you want to be within a walk distance to the center (5 to 20 minutes, depending on where do you want to go) but also in a quiet and less touristic area. I definitely recommend to stay at the Hora Feliz!

My boyfriend and I usually stay at all inclusive resorts in Playa del Carmen but decided to switch it up this vacation and stay somewhere close to 5th avenue so we could enjoy the culture of Playa. I came across Hora Feliz online and the condo exceeded our expectations. Daniela and her husband were so kind and accomidating. If we ever had a question someone was always available to provide us with an answer being they live on the premises. My boyfriend and I felt 100% comfortable the entire stay. We were one block from fifth avenue and two blocks from the ocean. There were several restaurants and entertainment close by whenever we felt like going out. The rooms were well kept and someone came to clean the room every other day. Overall, we fell in love with condo Hora Feliz and look forward booking our next trip there!

It is a beautiful studio, with an amazing location, only one block away from he main avenue and 2 blocks away from the beach!
Marco and his wife are wonderful people and made sure that our stay was very pleasant.

Very clen room and a very good service for a chepa accomodation.
Condo hor feliz is just 1 minute by the sea and 10 minutes from the center of the town, and Marco and Daniela was very kind and haelpful with tips about tche city and the tours. -
