Excellent location on the best part of the beach and close to 5th ave. Great layout, very nice condo, quiet and away from the restaurant. Facing away from the sun, so not too hot. Air conditioning works great. The features listed on Vrbo need to be updated - as we suspected. There are some old reviews out there that are correct in saying that there is no internet access in the room, and the vonage phone doesn't work. There is no bottled water in the closet, but I think you can get some from the hotel, we just bought ours with our groceries. Our biggest concern was with the pull-out bed in the entrance/den area. It was almost "un-sleepable" for our daughter! Terrible mattress that does not sit level, and hard springs pressing against the cover with no stuffing. The window above this pull-out has no blind or curtain at all - so it is wide open to a high traffic hallway. We covered it with one of the sheets for the bed. This should never be advertised as a 3rd bed. Cudos to our daughter for volunteering to sleep there. Guess who got the window seat on the flight home.
I don't mean to sound negative - we truly enjoyed our stay and the good much outweighed the bad. Don't list these features in your listing - and this is still a great place to stay, probably one of the best!

We again loved our stay at the El Faro Resort, Beach front and Downtown Playa Del Carmen. The service through El Faro is excellent. Management at the front desk is friendly and addresses your needs promptly.
This two bedroom condo is beautiful (two bath). Nicely decorated. Plenty of Room. And had a pull out couch for the extra guests we had staying with us. Kitchen and Living room area nicely furnished and met our needs.
The ElFaro is located on the beach, downtown Playa Del Carmen. One and 1/2 blocks from the Corner of 5th ave. and 10th. Fifth avenue has many, many excellent restaurants, cafes, coffee and ice cream shops to choose from. Fifth ave is also a phenomenal shopping experience, jewelry, clothing, souvenirs,leather etc.
We have stayed at the El Faro three years and love the beach and close proximity to fifth ave. Would stay again! -

We stayed at El Faro Reef 106 for 18 days in Feb 2013. The location of both the complex and our unit within the complex, Reef 106 , were perfect. Our unit was right at the pool and the pool was right at the beach. We could relax at the pool or the beach or walk the beach for as far either way as we wanted. There were many beach bar/restaurants to pick from in either direction. We were also only 1 block from 5th avenue so it was very easy to get to the shopping or to just walk the street and stop for lunch, dinner or just drinks. Wicky's restaurant, on site, had excellent food. Best hamburger I've ever had in Mexico and the buffalo chicken sandwich was great. Actually, everything we had there was good. The service at El Faro was excellent. Any time we requested service from the front desk, such as water or towels/linens, someone would be at our door within 1 or 2 minutes with our request. The light was a little too dim in one of the bathrooms and a faucet in the other bathroom wasn't working well, so we told the front desk about this. Not too much later, the faucet was fixed and an electrician actually came in and wired in another light in the bathroom. The service we had during our stay at El Faro was the best, fastest service we've ever had on any vacation. The location was perfect. The weather was great. When we go back to Playa del Carmen, this is the place we would stay.

We've been to PDC 15-20 times since 2000. This is our third visit to El Faro. The location is perfect: Under a block from 5th avenue and on the beach...nothing compares. Wicky's Bar and Restaurant has done a nice job of trying to be more competitive in pricing. The food has always been good, but was a little pricey. Now I thought it was in-line with the other nicer places in town.
The condos come well furnished, minus staples like spices, detergents,olive oil, etc.
Everyone is always extremely helpful. Sylvia at the front desk is beyond great. She's truly the glue that holds it together.
Playa Condos were really easy to work with.
We rented Reef 106. The best patio in the complex, bar none.
