ALL-INCLUSIVE is the most relaxing way to... vacation. Better than a super cruise! Expect to pay $75-$120/day per adult -- with discounts for groups of adults, teens 30% off, children 50% off. First child under 12 and all babies under 3 yrs stay, play and eat FREE.

All-inclusive (AI) fees vary with time of year, from lows of $60/day/adult low season to high of $150/day/adult (Christmas/New Year). That works out to $1,340-$1,999 for everything for 2 adults for the 7n/8d week.Total luxurious relaxation. Babies and the first child under 12 stay, eat and play FREE. Teens AI is 30% discounted.

  Hi, Jack, we enjoyed our stay at Sandos Playacar very much! The Royal Elite black bracelets certainly got us access to many amenities. They upgraded our room to Hacienda suite in our 3rd night. I will have to stay the Hacienda was definitely the best rooms at the resort, it made our experience so much more enjoyable. The Junior suites were nice but rather dated.
  
  Few things that came to mind about our stay:
  
  Royal Elite gave us access to get better coffee and most importantly bottled water at the premium club.
  
  We left our iPad in the room when we switched room, which got turned in by the cleaning service. We learnt that they have a tight security system where all employees were scanned when going in and out.
  
  My mom and daughter got sick, we think it was from buffet at Xelha. it was very helpful to have an on site clinic at the resort.
  
  Thank you for the ziplock tips, it was very important when traveling with a toddler. We had to be extra careful with where she got her food.
  
  Couple things I'd do differently if I were to travel back: instead of getting a rental car, I would just take the addo bus from the airport to Playa del Carmen and took a taxi from there to the resort. Or maybe just took the private shuttle. We spent a total of about $500 on rental car with all the extra fees, although the basic rate was only $205. In our case, we stayed at the resort most of the time. Also, the ticket prices to Xelha or anywhere else are so high anyway, we could just pay for the tour from the hotel which in the end would not make much diff. Of course, preference varies by traveler, could be an extra option for a comparable traveler profile.
  
  Another thing I thought was interesting was the need to return all room keys before we could get an exit pass. I had to walk back all the way to the room to collect.
  
  Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. I understand why you were very enthusiastic about the resort :) Thank you for letting us be your guests.

  Beautiful beach and friendly service!

  My family just got back from a one week stay at Sandos Playacar Resort and Spa in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. We brought our 4 kids with us... Ages 12,13, 16, and 18. We had wonderful family time at the resort. The beach is gorgeous, white sand. We played sand volleyball, swam in the ocean and did the fun dance/ workout classes on the beach with the awesome Sandos recreation team! Those guys had a lot of energy and made everything so fun! The resort is beautiful and we felt very safe with the kids often going off to do their "own thing". Even at night. The teenagers went to the teen area to play games and socialize with the other teens from many other countries. Then they watched a show, band, or got involved in some other activity that the resort was hosting. My 18 yr old would go to the disco at night and he had a great time and met many other young people his age. The staff is amazing. Can't say anything bad there. Wonderful service. The food was ok. It took us awhile to find what we liked. But we figured it out. Buffets have many choices. The restaurants we really liked were the asian and the Brazilian. Very good. Steak house was just ok... But we are from Nebraska... So we have the best steak at home. Our room was nice. Just your basic room. We stayed in rooms 2440 and 2441 in the rooms by the ocean.We were glad we stayed there because you could be at the beach/ ocean in 3 min from your room! awesome! the beds were a little hard, but we got used to them after the first night. Again, the service everywhere at the resort is top notch. Everyone is friendly and smiling and happy and helpful. We would recommend this resort. My kids want to go back every Christmas break! We really had a nice family vacation at Sandos...

  The service was impeccable. Anytime we needed anything, the staff provided prompt and friendly service. The restaurant choices were good and the food was amazing. The room was very clean and vibrant. The facilities and amenities are unbelievable. I've stayed there 2 times and am looking forward to when I can visit again. I would highly recommend this resort to everyone!!!

  My family and I stayed at Riviera Maya Playacar Resort for a week last December and my oldest kids are still raving about it! We want to do it again this December! Everything was top-notch, the rooms, the weather, the food, the service, the VIP service by the pool, entertainment! Kids ages 16,11 and 6 months - everyone enjoyed themselves tremendously!
