      Amazing Rooftop!

Left on 05/10/2013 for a stay in April 2013

We received a magnificent service, wey had a pleasant stay, the apartment furniture was great, the location of the apartment was superb... one block walking to Mamita's Beach. Around the corner you have a lot of restaurants and bars, also a convenience store is half block away. The rooftop of this apartment is really great, it has a jacuzzi, a grill, a "floating" bed, and huge space for you to invite your friends or family. The rooftop has also a great view to the sea, also the balcony from the living room has a great view to the sea. Thanks to the Bric Rentals team and the owners for a great stay at your apartment!

      Nice Condo but Loud area!!!

Left on 04/28/2013 for a stay in February 2013

My husband and I rented Magic Paradise a8 for the month of February. The condo itself is very nice with everything you need in the kitchen , it has nice views of the ocean from living area and both bedrooms. The rental company ( Bric International ) were very pleasant to deal with, and the location was close to the beach and fifth ave. so it was easy to walk to everything.
Now I will get to the outdoor spaces. There are 2 balconies on the main level and a very large rooftop space with BBQ and hanging bed. These outdoor spaces were the main reason we booked the condo so it was very disappointing to get there and realize that it is just so noisy in the area that sitting out on the balcony or trying to have an afternoon nap in the hanging bed was near impossible. There are open air bars that are right underneath the condo building and one of them on the corner is under your deck off of the living area so you might just as well be sitting in the bar itself. The music they play is mostly boom boom Techno music that I suppose the young people may like but it was not for us. There is also music coming from the aldea Thai building across the street , so there really is no peace and quiet starting in mid morning to early afternoon and it goes until at least 2 am. The one other complaint we had was that there are no black out drapes on either bedroom windows and the street has several street lights ( Which was nice when walking at night ) , and the lights left on all night on the penthouse roof of the aldea Thai made it annoying to get a good nights sleep if you like to have it dark like I do.
The nice thing about Playa is all the things you can do and all the night life if you want it,but you should be able to go back to your room or condo and get some quiet time , and you just can't do that in this condo. I'm afraid I couldn't recommend this condo unless you are the type who wants to party all the time. If you are then the location couldn't be better and the condo itself is great.

Great place, but bring your earplugs...

Left on 01/21/2013 for a stay in December 2012

Maybe it was just because of the holidays and New Years partygoers, but it seemed like we were assaulted with non-stop techno music day and night for a week. There are several bars and clubs below and around this building that all seem to be competing to for the loudest music to drown out their neighbors. Unfortunately it was all techno and all way too loud. Add to this the beach clubs just a block away with their parties and festivals that were exponentially louder, plus all of the foot traffic to and from, and we experienced anything but a relaxing vacation.

The location is actually very good and the accommodation is nice, but during the holidays I could only recommend this place to someone looking to party.

      Little Italys finest

Left on 06/15/2011 for a stay in June 2011

We stayed in a8 from June 4th to June 13th. Booking and check-in was a breeze. We were disappointed that the wifi service was down due to nearby construction. Our rep told us that he had hopes it would be up in the next two days but it was down for the entirety of our stay. Having wifi in the unit was a top 5 reason we booked the unit. We were able to use the wifi in the Bric rental office courtyard but were often driven out by the mosquitos. Starbucks is also close by for wifi needs.

The location of the unit is great for people watching. Birds eye view of the entrance to Mamitas beach and its got a great balcony to lounge around on.

The rooftop terrace is great. We used the gas grill a number of times.

Maid service was good but the marble floors never seemed clean enough. The sheets were also not changed for the entire 8 days we stayed at the unit. That seemed a bit excessive.

Both bedrooms get a lot of sunlight in the early morning and there is evening noise from a bar below the unit. Fyi for all you light sleepers.

Washer/dryer combo unit is a tad tempermental. You have to pull out the clothes right when the dryer portion is done or water sneaks back in and you have to start the 3+ hour process all over. One morning the unit had leaked all over our kitchen floor.

Ac worked great in master bedroom. A little noisy in guest room.

Hot water in bathrooms was also hit and miss. Definitely not consistent. We went a few days without hot water.

Very quiet complex in regards to neighbors. Didnt see any.

Security at night. Friendly guys. Very secure complex. Gate code to get in and two more codes needed to activate the elevator.

Kitchen had a lot of things we needed and we left a bunch more upon our departure :)

The master bathroom mirror is not centered in front of the sink. Its off to the right and its super small. There is a window above the sink. Odd set up and kinda annoying. Picture on page is off the guest bathroom.

      Have a great stay!

      Worth the hassles; Amazing Views

Left on 05/21/2009 for a stay in March 2009

      First, the difficulties:

      1. Finding it the first time - we arrived in early evening (after hours), took the ADO bus from Cancun, then walked down 5th for 20 blocks asking directions and getting different answers along the way. Thank goodness we had a Spanish speaker with us, otherwise we might have been on the street the first night.

      2. One of the toilets did not flush for the first two days.

      3. The hot water did not work to the kitchen sink and one of the showers for the first three days.

      4. The provided bottled water was sometimes insufficient for 4 adults.

      5. 24 of the last 30 hours we were without running water at all!

      6. The unit is more or less directly over a club that plays loud (American) music almost every night.

      7. The online reservation system and back-and-forth with the management company felt antiquated and clunky. One of my fears when were initially lost and couldn't find the place was that it didn't exist! :)

      Now, the good!

      1. The unit is well appointed - both bedroom are of good size, and 2 full modern-looking bathrooms. The kitchen is a godsend, especially because there weren't a lot of food options around (although this may change soon because the surrounding area is being built up fast!)

      2. Three fantastic porches, including the rooftop deck. We spent a lot of time and had a lot of meals/drinks on these.

      3. The view is amazing, and better than we expected.

      4. Secured parking for the asking.

      5. Great proximity to one of the most popular beaches, good people watching, and close enough to the main drags to get wherever you want without dealing with too much noise (note the nightclub exception mentioned above).

If you ignore all the weird plumbing issues we had, and assume that they don't happen to everyone, and if you can bring earplugs for the nightclub and/or just close the windows and use the A/C at night, I highly recommend this unit for the location and the unit itself.

      Met Expectations

Left on 05/12/2009 for a stay in February 2009

We (2 couples) rented this condo for a 2 week vacation in Feb 09. We rented through Bric International and we would definately use their services again. The condo was very cozy and we especially enjoyed the roof top deck. There is a bar on the street level of this complex and the music at night was somewhat annoying, although not so much so that we wouldn't return here. We are not the partying type, more looking for R&R. There are 3 decks to choose from, off the living room, master bedroom and rooftop. You could find sun or shade as desired. The decks could use some freshening up (paint) and new furniture but overall we were satisfied with this unit. There were lots of towels and basically everything you needed to make your stay enjoyable. We especially enjoyed the maid service provided by Bric (Mon-Sat). This unit is great for 2 couples as there are 2 full bathrooms, one off each bedroom.

      Awesome Location

Left on 05/11/2009 for a stay in March 2009

Beautiful condo and the location couldn't be better. The roof top terrace is just lovely. I wouldn't definately stay here again! Fun to watch people come and go to Mamitas.

A few nights there was extremely loud music being played at the bar below, so loud kept us up and actually made the floor vibrate/shake....
