Fantastic experience of the Caribbean! Excellent condo complex - great service by all staff, very quiet, had the pool and beach almost to ourselves during spring break. We loved the penthouse unit - great to use the rooftop terrace at night. Unit was very private and overall quiet, furniture and beds were very comfortable. Since we enjoy cooking in more than most, we found the kitchen space and amenities to be small and lacking...but this was a minor point. Overall great experience for the family.

From the moment we walked out of the airport, our stay in Mexico was wonderful. We were whisked from the airport to Elements where Damien, our concierge, was waiting for us. We had preordered groceries, which allowed us to freshen up and feed our two kids. The condo was fantastic, exactly what we expected as this was our second stay at Elements. All amenties as promised and kept neat and tidy with fresh towels on a daily basis. The condo is beautiful inside yet still able to accomadate kids without worry. I would highly recommend Elements if you plan on visiting Playa Del Carmen

Minneapolis, MNAmazing stay at the Elements!!!
Left on 06/01/2011 for a stay in January 2011
This is my 7th time in Playa and by far the best stay ever!!! This property was incredible. I went to Playa with my husband and two friends. The moment we walked in, we were in awe of the property and the location!!! I would highly recommend staying here. The Elements is on the North end of Playa, which means that you can "get away" but also walk into the action. The private beach is spectacular and there are always chairs to sit in.
We have already booked for next January and I can't wait to return. -

Portland, OregonVery Satisified with the location and the high quality

It was even better than the pictures. Loved the front end location and the jacuzzi on the patio. Damian and the crew were always attentive. Damian hooked me up with a nice fishing expedition and connected my son with an excellent cab ride to Cancun. The washer/dryer in the unit was a bonus. Good size refrigerator.
A/C is outstanding with 3 individual units: one for the bedrooms and one for the living room.
Bathrooms were great and water pressure was super. Plenty of hot water all the time.
The beach club in the front had excellent food and drinks.
One of the previous reviews thought the location was too far away from the action on 5th av. We thought it was perfect for the walk was safe and less than 10 min. from the closed section. It was the quiet section of PDC but very close to the action. You can also walk the beach down to the action on 5th av.
One can easily see why this location is terrific when you walk by the Mamitas Beach Club. I mean that club is packed beach chair to beach chair with no privacy.
We have been going to PDC for the past 1o years. This is the 2nd best place we have stayed. The number one place was closed several years ago to make room for a condo building (not built yet)
Con: the wireless signal is really weak so the reception is not good.
The 2nd bedroom window backs up to the hallway which is heavily lighted (they can disconnect half the lights in the hallway and still have plenty of lightening. The problem with the hallway lights is the window blackout shade is installed inside the window so you get quite a bit of light shining all night thru the edges of the shade. This was a design error when the shade should have been installed on the outside wall to fully cover the window. A blackout drape would solve the problem of the night time light.

British ColumbiaWonderful Stay
Left on 12/10/2010 for a stay in October 2010
My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Ph24 at "The Elements" in Playa del Carmen for a month during October. The Elements is a wonderful complex, great pool, superbly maintained grounds, business centre, and a small gym. For some its location maybe an issue, it's not in downtown PDC, but for us, we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the northern end of Playa. During the day there was some music from Cannibal Royale ( beach club ) but they were always done by 7p.m.
Staff at the Elements were always friendly, from front desk people to the cleaners and groundskeepers. Not many spoke a lot of English but Damien was available most days and did. Access to the unit was excellent. There was external car-parking and entry right beside the lift that took you right to the back of the penthouse.
The unit itself was just as good as the website pictures. Beautiful view of the beach and ocean and across to Cozumel. The way the unit is positioned you don't get a view of the pool. The triangular shaped deck is quite large and was about to have a bamboo type roof added for shade, it did get vey hot out there. Upstairs hot-tub and deck area were great and again shade was being added.
There were a few minor issues that detracted a little from the apartment. The second bedroom has a problem with outside light at night. There are security lights on near the lift and the pull-down blind didn't block a lot of the light, hence the bedroom was quite bright. The wireless internet did not work in the unit at all and had to go to the business centre to check emails etc. The kitchen equipment was a little basic. We had to buy a vegetable peeler, a cheese grater, some better steak knives and a couple of wine glasses.
Over-all it was a very enjoyable stay and would not hesitate to recommend The Elements to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in Playa del Carmen. -

From the moment we landed till the day we left we were extremely impressed with bric. Damien the concierge was well informed with any questions we had regarding tours, car rentals, restaurants, and and was able to arrange anything that we wanted.
The unit was ready for us, the hot tub was ready, and the unit was very clean. The unit has awesome views of the ocean from the main floor deck and very private roof top where we sat daily in the hot tub and suntanned on the bed. The outside shower was nice to be able to cool off as the sun on the top deck is all day.
The shower inside was great. Always had hot water. The Elements was perfect for us as we like things quiet. There is a new beach club, cannibal royal just to the left of the elements that plays music but from the unit it was barely noticable. The elements beach area was very quiet. Not alot there but beach chairs, but was nice and quiet.
We walked into town every morning for a coffee and every evening for dinner. In the morning we would walk into town on the beach which is beautiful. Within 5 minutes we would be in town. At night we would walk the street side. It would take us about 10 to 15 mns strolling but towards the end of the second week, we were so relaxed that had we walked any slower we would have been walking backwards lol. So we did take a taxi a few times, and they are right around the corner so there was no need to call for one, they were there in less than a minute.
I really liked the location of the elements as it is away from the croweded beach clubs and nightclubs, but close enough to walk into town. Two minutes away were little convienience stores to buy milk, juice, as well as the big grocery stores which is withing walking distance, but a bit far to be lugging groceries.
The best thing we liked about the Elements was the location, the least thing we liked about it was leaving. we will definately be staying in PH24 next year. -

TexasWill be better once the kinks are worked out
Left on 07/27/2009 for a stay in July 2009
The Elements are a very nice property and will be really nice (& worth cost) once all the kinks are worked out. Here's why...
o The Electricity and Water went out many times... every day for at least some period of time. This was very inconvenient, especially when we could not shower several evenings. No water / no electricity also meant no lights, no washer/dryer, no dishwasher, no hot tub. For lighting, we thought they may have candles somewhere, but no - not even when requested.
o We had a few food items taken from the room. Small things... but still, this brings dis-trust and dis-comfort in leaving anything out.
o Construction outside -- we were warned that this may be the case, so can't complain too much... but the view will be nice once done.
o Beach chairs were provided in the room to take to the beach, but no Beach umbrellas provided on the beach by the property. I understand this is to change in the future.
Overall, I loved Playa del Carmen and I really liked the location of The Elements in that it was in a more quiet area with easy walking around town. However, I was disappointed with the items above... most notably, the electricity/water issue. -

The Elements is a fantastic place for a vacation. We stayed in Penthouse 24 - 4 girls on a week getaway. The penthouse has a wonderful view of the ocean. It's on the northern end of Playa del Carmen, so it is much more private than downtown. However, all the shops and restaurants are an easy drive/walk. We loved being a little outside of the action, but having such easy access.
Rene greated us when we arrived and was available for all of our questions and needs. He and the staff was exceptionally responsive and made us feel very welcome.
The penthouse has 2 bedrooms, 2 very nice bathrooms and best of all - 2 decks. The deck on the main floor has lounge chairs and an amazing view. The upstairs deck is gigantic, and has a hot tub, sunbathing bed and large dining room table. We even slept under the stars one night on the bed on the roof.
But the pool is the best part. VERY well kept and fantastic sun bathing options. The pool is huge, so even if there were other people there you hardly notice them.
I'd highly recommend a stay here. You won't be disappointed. Great for a girlfriends getway, or a couples weekend.
