      Great place

Left on 04/02/2013 for a stay in March 2013

Unit 118 was so nice - clean, well stocked and furnished, nice view of the pool and the ocean and very quiet even when there was a lot going on outside. We would return in a second. So much fun, great beach access and lots of fun spots within walking distance. The staff was so nice and helpful, arranging day trips for us etc. It was just a great experience!!

The best and ony waterfront vacation property in Playa del Carme

Left on 06/18/2012 for a stay in March 2012

The Condo was exceptional - very large, nicely furnished, with a beautiful ocean view balcony. I believe all of the units have ocean view balconies. The property also has a lovely centrally located large pool. The concierge was always available and extremely helpful and friendly! My friend and I wanted to explore Playa's many superb restaurants, rather than dine everyday at the same all-inclusive resort. Elements was perfect for this - just a short walk to 5th ave with all the shops and restaurants. The only downside was lack of internet access - which I believe was due to problems within the internet carrier, and nothing to do with The Elements. I would definitely recommend this destination!

Spring break at the Elements, Playa del Carmen

Left on 04/06/2010 for a stay in March 2010

Great place (once we found it!).Lots of on-going work in terms of landscaping during the week we were there but all facilities very good. Saw palm trees planted on our beach and in front of the building plus other plants being installed that even improved the overall feel.
Great condo with plenty of space and all the kitchen facilities. Location right off the beach overlooking the pool that was in fact more like piece of art than a regular pool - huge and multi-leveled for all ages.
Damian the concierge very patient and good at guiding us away from the too-touristy experiences. He recommended a local restaurant, Cocina 38 that was wonderful and not in central Playa so would never have found it. The whole area feels as if it is on the verge of further development (north of Playa). Walk was a little too far for all our party but cabs were $3-4 to get downtown. Good Mega supermarket for local supplies.
      Would certainly revisit.

      Room for improvement

Left on 05/11/2009 for a stay in March 2009

There were many small issues that made this rental less than it should have been for a property that is suppose to be in the luxury catagory. The big drinking water jug had water in it that was full of mold. It took two days for this to be replaced! The unit was suppose to sleep six but their were no blow-up beds that were to be included. Someone said they could see them locked up in the owners wardrobe but not very helpful. We borrowed one from another owner and slept on the couch.

There was only one roll of paper towel and had to ask for toilet paper. The kitchen was poorly equipped so lost the value of a real kitchen.

The overall place is great. The pool and the view wonderful. Other guests were fun and helpful so we had a good time.

I would recommend that there be included in a WELCOME BASKET some provisions that would make a guest feel welcome like coffee and filters, a couple of cold beers and sodas, a bottle of chilled wine, a couple of snacks like tostados and salsa and perhaps cookies or some chocolates. A little fruit, granola and a box of milk could get someone arriving late by without having to figure out how to get a taxi and find a grocery store after traveling all day, often with children. The idea is to be able to exceed expectations of the guest and understanding how nice it would be to just relax.

There is the notion that these units are "just rentals" so minimum care goes into furnishings and it really is noticed in a negative way. When the wine bottle opener breaks the first time it is used, it says this place is cheap and people treat is accordingly.

You would get much more repeat and referral business, which is the most cost effective kind, if you were to set each of your units to a better standard than you do now. These changes would be less than $50.00 USD. People do not always remember what they paid but they do remember what they got...either way.

It is your job to educate the owners on the value of this.
