189934Really nice, even luxurious holiday experience.
Left on 02/03/2012 for a stay in December 2011
The place was huge, spotless clean and much better than what expected. The location was central. We could easily walk downtown and to the beach. The swimming pool was relatively small, but as the beach was close, it didn't matter that much. The owner was very helpful and spoke fluent English. We did not have any problems with the house during our holiday.
There are plenty of stairs in the house as it is in 3 floors, however, they are relatively safe for children. -

Out of all of the tropical get a ways I have gone to, my stay at Casa Sueno del Mar was by far the best ever. The house was very beautiful and elegant. Each room had all the necessary necessities and its own full bathroom. The house was very nice to open up and feel the wonderful tropical air. The game room and swimming pool was a big plus for the whole family and guests. The whole house has very large rooms so that you never feel crowded even with multiple families staying in the house. The kitchen and dining room where very well stocked and became a focal point of our stay. One of my favorite ways to start and end the day was the roof top patio to enjoy sunrises and sunsets, though all the patios are very nice. The property manager and maid helped to make our stay a memorable experience. The house is only a couple blocks from the popular 5th street where all the action is and only about four blocks from the beach. There is so much to do in Playa del Carmen for the family and for couples when you just want to get a quick get away from the family. Casa Sueno del Mar was worth every penny and is a place that we will visit many times in the future.

My family stayed at this beautifully decorated house in Playa del Carmen and I highly recommend it. It appears not a cent was spared whent this house was built and furnished. The location was perfect with the beach, shopping and wonderful restaurants located on the beautiful 5th Avenue (Avenida 5) within walking distance.
Upon arriving we stopped first at the local Sam's Club and stocked up on groceries. The kitchen in the house is unbelievable. Dining out on the lovely Avenida 5 was a real treat but with the granite countertops and enormous amounts of working space and every appliance you could imagine we thoroughly enjoyed preparing most of our own meals and saved a considerable amount of money doing so. I wish my kitchen at home was laid out as was well at this kitchen and I missed it for weeks when we had to leave.
The views from this house took our breath away and when we weren't off playing at the beach or enjoying the enchanting Mayan ruins we were completely satisfied entertaining ourselves at the house playing games and lounging by the private swimming pool.
The services were better than we had expected and the amenities will blow you away. We felt like royalty vacationing in this beautiful house and I can't wait to go back. We've already booked our next trip and are including another set of friends since there is so much extra space in the house. -

This is a beautiful 3 story house in the middle of Playa del Carmen. It's set back behind another building and so it is both quiet and secluded, and yet only 2 blocks from the shopping and restaurants on 5th, and 4 blocks from the beach. Nothing I could find in the center of town matched the combination of proximity and quiet seclusion of Casa Sueno del Mar. I really liked the week I spent here.
The pluses: The house was just gorgeous. Each of us (3 couples) had our own bedroom, bath, and balcony - there is a LOT of room. There's even a sundeck on the roof! The floors are all tiled, the fixtures, artwork, and furniture were all high quality. The beds were comfortable. The maid kept everything spotless for us. We also had her cook us a dinner and it was quite delicious. The manager is a fountain of knowledge for the entire region and acted as a concierge for us. His restaurant recommendations were spot on, and he helped us with putting together some of the sightseeing we did and most importantly, he let us know what the prices of things should be so we didn't ever overpay!
The minuses: The pool could be bigger. There is enough room for the lounge chairs but the pool isn't really big enough for lap swimming which is what I like to do. The town is surrounded by water, it wasn't much of a problem. There is only one covered, locked parking space, but we had 2 cars and the other had to be parked on the street. Being so close to 5th the area is pretty well patrolled, but I just feel better when my car is in a locked garage. There were no problems with the second car and this is really a minor issue.
Price: It cost us about $125 per night per couple in early November. That's pretty cheap for these accomodations.
I've stayed in Playa many times and this is the best place I've ever stayed. I've stayed in some nice places in Playacar, but it's a hike from there to downtown. I'd recommend it in a hearbeat. And when I come back, I'm staying here again! -

Just a few blocks away from anywhere, nestled in the city centre is this beautiful home. We traveled with friends and family and needed large accommodations to keep us all together and Casa Sueno del Mar met our every need. There was plenty of living space to keep everyone from being underfoot, and when you put ten people under one roof for a week that’s a good thing.
Every room was equipped with private bathrooms, air conditioning and lots of space. The kitchen and family rooms were wonderful gathering place to share our daily stories of excursions over a nice meal and drinks. The beautiful pool was a nice convenience to relax by when not strolling the white sand beaches. This is not one of those places where the pictures overstated what you actually found when you got there, in fact it's even better!
There was a caretaker in a separate residence on the property who was so helpful, giving us great pointers for our visits into the city and beyond. Each day the housekeeper came to keep things spic and span. All our needs were taken care of.
The beaches, wow, warm water, beautiful white sand, completely dreamy. With restaurants, shopping, night life and so much more just blocks away, there was always something to do. We cannot wait to return to Playa and we will definitely be staying at Casa Sueno del Mar!!

Long Beach, CATruly a dream vacation by the sea
Left on 05/07/2010 for a stay in November 2009
I can hardly decide where to start my description of the fantastic
vacation I spent at Casa Sueno del Mar! It's a very short stroll to the
gorgeous beach, where I felt as though I had my own personal attendant to
set up my lounge chair exactly where I wanted it, bring me food, beverages,
or connect me with a fellow to take us snorkeling. Funny thing about the
snorkeling: just before I left for Mexico, I'd gone to the Aquarium of the
Pacific and seen the colorful fish swimming in the tank. Then there I was,
days later, swimming with those very same fish! The water is so clear, even
at the shoreline, that you can see right to the bottom. And the color of the
water is unbelievable -- I still stare at my photos and can't believe it's real.
The main shopping and restaurant street is just a couple of short blocks
from the house, but if you'd rather eat at home, Casa Sueno has a large
kitchen. I preferred to eat breakfast at home, then try the local
establishments for lunch and dinner. There's a large store for grocieries
close enough to walk to, then take the short cab ride home with your items.
The actual home is spacious, clean, comfortable, beautiful. and well
appointed with everything you might need from a blender to beach towels.
It's so relaxing to just sit on the balcony (each bedroom has its own
balcony) and read or do nothing at all. It's close to tour buses so you can
spend the day at the Mayan ruins (rent a bike there for a few dollars, or
have one of the guides pedal you about), or at one of the water parks. We
went to Xelha. Oh oh oh! It was incredible: snorkeling, restaurants,
swimming with dolphins, tubing down the river -- I've never had such an
outstanding experience! Swimming WITH dolphins!!! WITH them!!!!!
I've recommended this vacation home to several friends. It's so relaxing and
gorgeous. I look forward to going every year.
The only reason the vacation wasn't perfect was that I didn't stay long
enough! -

It is so close to everything - but is quiet and private. A short walk to the beach, to restaurants, and to shopping. The best thing is everything - well furnished, comfortable, quiet, but has everything (full kitchen, huge TV, Wii, AC, balconies, massage room). The best thing was the in-house masseuse - very relaxing after a day at the beach. You do get alot of exercise going up and down the stairs - 3 flights. The rooftop is a great place to spend the mornings. Would love to spend more time there.
