New YorkBeautiful Casa Caracol
Left on 03/02/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We spent three wonderful weeks at Casa Caracol in January of 2013. The casa is everything and more we hoped for. Julian was there to help with anything and everything and quickly and his lovely wife kept the house sparkling and entertained us all with amazing towel art. Beautiful spacious living areas as well as lovely bedrooms! The large kitchen was welcoming as we enjoyed many nights cooking and relaxing at home. The first week we had family and friends visiting, second week just friends and the third week family with small children. The house was wonderful for all ages. We loved the outside area and spent many sunny days enjoying poolside and outdoor dinning. The beach is magnificent and so close it was easy to run back and forth to and fro the casa.
This is our third year in Playa car and Casa Caracol is by far our favorite house! We cannot wait to return. We thank our hosts for taking such great care of this beautiful house! -

Gladewater, TexasPerfect Place!!!
Left on 10/10/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We were there in September of 2012. I can't say enough how perfect this house worked out for us. We took our 2 year son with us this time and he had a blast!! We had been to a resort down the road, and we were actually closer to the beach at this house, then we were from our room at the resort. We loved going to the beach or just hanging out at the private pool.
I would recommend this place to anyone!!! -

We rented Casa Carocal for a family vacation. There were 8 adults and 1 toddler and the house had more than enough room for all of us. The house is very comfortable and well-maintained. The 4 bedrooms all have king beds and en-suite baths, which is hard to find anywhere in a vacation rental. The first floor rooms are roughly equal and the master, on the second floor, is larger with a balcony and bigger bathroom. The living room/dining room has enough room for the family to hang-out and the kitchen was well equipped. The swimming pool is one of the biggest we saw during our walks around Playacar where many of the houses seem to only have plunge pools. The proximity to the beach (50 steps) and town (5-10 min. walk) is a definite plus. Julian and adriana, who take care of the house, are very helpful and responsive caretakers. We hired Constantina to cook authentic Mexican dinners on two nights, which was a real treat and highly recommended. While we were at the house, the washing machine broke and it was replaced with a brand new machine within hours. A true sign of the owner's commitment to ensuring nothing ruined our trip. We would definitely consider returning to Casa Carocal for another Playa vacation.

Casa Caracol gave us great insight into renting a house. The one thing that really sold us on the house was that each room had a king bed with an attached bathroom which was important with an all-adult group. The air-conditioning worked extremely well; it did not take long to cool down a room. The kitchen had everything you would need to prepare your own meals, which we did. It was also nice to have a washer and dryer to dry wet swimsuits and towels, if needed.
We chose to wash our own dishes and take out the trash just because we are used to that, but the maid service was quick and efficient. Beds were clean and made every day, towels were washed, floors were swept, and the added touch of finding a "towel critter" each day added to the experience. Julian, the property manager, checked in on us throughout the week to see what we needed. The pool area was cleaned almost daily and bottled water was aplenty. The perfect addition would be ice delivery. We discussed this as a future business venture!
The location of the home was great. We walked everywhere and loved being able to walk along the beach to get to town. We debated having some food items stocked for us, but chose to shop at WalMart which added to our Mexico experience! It was nice not to have to pack up to go to the beach as it was just a block away; we would just take our towels and walk barefoot. Having the pool right outside our door was also a great option for relaxing and cooling off.
One thing we would recommend would be a portable Bluetooth speaker system so that people could use their own devices to play their music (currently the house just has a CD player). We brought one ourselves and found it to be a hit as we could take it to the pool or bring it inside. However, one of our favorite things was the beach near the house; it was clean, did not have a lot of people, and the sand was soft on the feet. -

Boulder, COGreat house - Amazing location
Left on 03/19/2012 for a stay in February 2012
You can't go wrong with Casa Caracol. The house is beautiful and the location - between the beach and town - is impossible to beat. We spent a week in the house with our two young kids (4 and 7) and had a blast. The kids loved the pool and the mild surf at the beach. With the fully-stocked kitchen, we cooked breakfast and lunch at the house and made the quick, 10-minute walk to town for dinners (great restaurant selections in Playa).
We highly recommend this rental and plan to go back again next year! -

This is a very comfy house with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms a very large master suite & kitchen. Gathering with groups is no problem. A very nice pool and only 20 yards from the pool to the beach. A short walk to the strip with fantastic shopping and night life. Be sure to check out the Mayan ruins at Tulum and the snorkeling at akumal just a short taxi ride to the south. Google Earth it and check out the photos.

Santa Cruz, CAGreat Christmas Stay for Intergenerational family
Left on 03/11/2012 for a stay in December 2011
December 2011
Grandparents, parents and grandchildren (11 in all, ages 71 to 4) all enjoyed our stay at Casa Caracol over Christmas, 2011. The ensuite bathrooms were wonderful - each family could be as neat or messy as they wished! The proximity to the beach was wonderful - we could come and go as we wished. Employing a cook to prepare most of our meals relieved the stress - yet we were close enough to town that we could have a meal out when we wished. Overall, a wonderful time was had by all! The owners were easy to work with and supplied all the information we asked for before and during our stay. -

This place was like home to us. From the moment we arrived at the airport, we knew that we were truly on vacation. The driver made sure that we had nothing to worry about as he drove us to our destination and was so friendly that we knew this would be the best vacation ever. As soon as we got to the casa, we were welcomed by the caretaker, Julian, who immediately helped us get settled in. The view was beautiful and the house was so conveniently located to the beach and a short walk into town that we felt complete freedom to relax and soak up the Mexico sun. The owners of the house had the best recommendation, from restaurants to tourist destinations, that even when we veered from those recommendations, we realized that our pick wasn't half as good as theirs. We spent our days relaxing on the soft, white beaches and exploring cenotes and local flavors, even skidiving!!! And when we got home, everything about the casa made us feel welcome, from the towel animals left on our bed to the fresh linen left in our bathroom. The best recommendation was Susan, the caterer that came in and cooked us a five-star birthday dinner, complete with fresh fish and appetizers on the balcony overlooking the Carribean Sea. We will be back!!!
