Horrible Stay! horrible service! you should never go there!!!
To be brief we had a leak of water on 3 of the WC, a gas leak, no hot water, air conditioning problems, a horrible service!, no refund or discount after all of their property problems, we spent one morning trying to change the traveler’s cheque that the owner ask us to bring as a pay method!!! I mean with all these no one will ever pay 2150 box for 10 days in this property and they never give us our money back, because believed me I was Customer Service Manager for 5 years in 3 hotels all over the world and none of these hotels and I guess no one will ever charged someone for a property like these!! But of course they asked you to pay in advance! Now you know why!!! My story: We reserved this property for a family trip to Mexico! I work for the consulate of Mexico and I handle the tourism board of México in France, so playa Del Carmen is my favorite destination, but since the beginning everything was a mess! the owner told us by phone before our arrival that he preferred traveler's cheque to be paid, so we paid the commission for that and we followed his instructions; the day of our arrival our flight was delayed, was on the 24 and we were willing to take a shower and enjoy Christmas with the family, but guess what: we arrived, a French guy made our check in and told us "I will be your 24h concierge", well he never show up when we called him several times, because we hadn't hot water, air conditioning was not working and there was a strong smell of gas, anyway we slept all together on the sofa because upstairs was a heat!, the second day we were willing to use the pool but they didn't leave us beach towels because they forgot it! That day we realized that there was a leaking on the WC of the principal bedroom and the one with the 4 beds, finally another girl show up on Monday, 2 days after our arrival with some maintenance guy to fix the problems and I was like what! because she told me that actually the house wasn't being used for a while and they didn't verified everything, but I mean is kind of their work right?, during our whole stay they never fixed the leaking of the WC and the smell of gas, so we were afraid to cook every time, then on our 5 day our 5 years old nephew got a rash after sleeping with us one night and we realized that we all had a rash since the beginning but none of use was a child so nobody complains about scratching, so I asked them to change all the sheets and duvets and to verify if they put some products to avoid the mites and I wanted to killed them when this young lady told me “what is a mite?, do you know any product for that?” I mean!!! Everyone in hotel and vacation rentals know that a mite is the little insect that your mattress kept and especially when no one use it for a long time or when a lot of people use it!!! These one was the last one really! And before that the day I said these was a bad idea was the day that they came to us to change for them the traveler’s cheques that we use to pay them on our arrival day, because they didn’t have any idea how to change them or to use them!!! Because I asked to another Rental Vacations and they told me: the guests sign the cheque in front of someone at the agency and then we deposit it in our account and that is it!! We did exactly but I guess their really problem that they never told us was that they didn’t have a professional account in the local banks and that’s why they made us wasted one morning to change the money instead of them, but the thing was that we wasted our morning and as we already reserved a trip that morning we lost our money too and I told them and even that they weren’t willing to pay us back at least the 50% of our stay! But after all this Go Vacation Maya Rentals was weird you know, the owner was a foreign, all the people that worked there were foreign as well and the French guy who made our check in told us that no one at the company really had a “FM3” which is a work permit In Mexico for foreign people to work, so We guessed that this one was the main issue, because you know people wasn’t bad people…they just didn’t know how to do the work, our regret is that we were looking for an agency for our holidays in Playa del Carmen, because our family is there and we visit them as possible, our next trip is in august of these year!!! Anyway never go here our with Go Vacation Maya Rentals; I will probably tried to prevent all the French tourist that we send over there and with our people of the Tourism Board on the Riviera Maya

i am the owner of the agency you claim so high being so bad. for the last 5 years i operated and manage my organization with always in mind to give the best possible product for the best possible price, i have: office, visa, bank account "commercial". i am a father of 2 kids and have been 17 years with my wife. The agency employed 6 full time employees Mexican people and more than 10 in peak season. All my employees are register at social security and i always help them when they needed. we have a excellent reputation in town; actually the entire opposite of what your claiming...so dramatically!!! last year our agency receive on Flipkey/trip advisor 100 "outstanding" review before receiving your ...somehow you are #101.... i take my "commercial mission" very seriously and i am really sorry for all the trouble you had. i had no idea you situation went so bad and i have no problem refunding you 50% of you rent. I'm doing this because it's the right thing to do and not because i fell obligated to do it. I don't understand why you did not ask me since i saw you 3 time. just send me you info and i will proceed.
Now i would like to explain our side of the story.
- i agree there was some technical difficulties happening in the villa you stayed during holiday season. Sometime (Christmas day) it 's more difficult getting the technician and/or the part to fix... all our property are greatly maintain anyhow sometime it break...i have in our report 2 problems register during you stay; the bathroom in the second bedroom had a leak and and the a/c of the second bedroom also was defective all got fix in the best possible time
- for the travelers check matter. i was, 3 months ago, able to go to my bank, commercial or personal, and by the way yes i have bank account and office and pay tax and permit to operate and I'm in good standard with all the different level of government, anyway they change the rule and don't authorize traveler check cause they were to many fraud!!! so bank do not accept it and i also verify with apple vacation; one of the largest travel group on the riviera maya and they are not accepting traveler check no more...i don't make the law...i understand you not happy but i have no other choice after trying in 3 banks, 2 offices change (casa de cambio)...i was out of option
-On the last 17 of december my ex concierge gave me a 2 weeks notice and i had to find quickly a replacement. we had 2 weeks to find someone fluently speaking in 3 languages after several interview we hire Geoffrey who was the best person for the job... i don't really like you insinuation that everyone in my office is foreigner without paper and nobody said that to you and it's absolutely wrong... i don't understand and feel you have other motivation, without knowing what it is...i understand we cannot get everyone happy but when you refer about the illegality of my organization you attack my integrity and that's not very nice.
-In the bedbug episode, i have no record and have not see kid staying with you in the villa? having 2 kid's myself i cannot count the time they came home with some kind of rash or bug...we fumigate all our property 6 time/year and we steam clean all our mattress every years to maintain our property bug-free, this is not only paradise for human here but also for bugs. we have for the last 2 weeks someone else in the property you stayed and i call yesterday to check if everything was good, without alarming the client but "no" everything is good and they are very happy.
For the record i will be 50 years old in a few days; in 1982 i organize my first trip "March break" here in Playa since than i spent 30 years in Canada and Mexico taking care people on or for their vacation; ski group, rafting and travel club in Ottawa after moving down to the Riviera Maya. i did travel enough and stay in some of the top brand hotels and the quality of a name reside, in my opinion, in the management of the resolution of personal need. obviously in your case we were not attentive enough and i feel guilty. I take the blame, all the blame for you miserable vacation.
Therefore i know you coming back next summer and want to propose you to give me another chance, to make up for what happen during you last stay. i know i can give you a spectacular vacation. i would personally make sure you receive a outstanding service and all this FREE OF CHARGE!!! this is up to you

A home away from home
This is our second year booking with Govacationmaya.Com and staying at Playacar II. The staff are very professional from the time we book online until we leave for home. They were always available to answer any questions we had or provide anything that we needed! This year we stayed at D-1 with our 4 children and Mother. There was plenty of room for our family. There is a beautiful pool steps away from the sliding doors or it is a short walk to the beach and 5th avenue. We are already planning our return to D-1 for next year.
