Casa La Ostra (The Oyster house) at Hermosa Palms has very warm Mediterranean feeling and is the perfect place to enjoy Playa Hermosa, province of Puntarenas, and its surroundings.

It is lavishly decorated by an interior designer with upscale furniture and most amenities found in modern houses, including central air conditioning. It is only a few steps to the sand of Playa Hermosa (about 70 yards), one of the most consistent surf breaks in Costa Rica.

The house has a great outdoor area with plenty of seating. There is a gas grill, dining table and lounge chairs next to a delicious plunge... pool.

Downstairs, the living room's plush sofa and chairs are great for family gatherings. There is a wide-screen TV with DVD player and a stereo system with CD player, as well as cable internet with Wi-Fi.

The kitchen is a delight to use thanks to its contemporary design with stainless steel appliances including dishwasher, center island with ceramic top stove and oven, granite countertops and breakfast counter, ample storage space and modern cabinets.

All bedrooms are upstairs. The Master bedroom boasts a King size bed, TV with DVD, a walk-in closet with safe box and a large bathroom with 2 sinks and oversized shower. The second bedroom has a Queen bed and large closet. The third bedroom has Jack and Jill Twin beds (one pulls out from under the other), great for kids. These two bedrooms share a large Jack and Jill bathroom (doors on both sides) with twin sinks and with separate bathtub and shower.

The sundeck on the third floor is excellent to check out the surf, to achieve that perfect tan in total privacy or just to gaze at the sunset or stars with your favorite drink.

Screened sliding glass doors allow you to enjoy the ocean breeze comfortably. Black out curtains let you sleep those extra hours beyond sunrise (usually around 5:30 am). If you wish, ceiling fans will let you live without air conditioning.

The beach club with oversized pool is only a few feet away, in front of the ocean. Playa Hermosa is a beautiful, long stretch of unspoiled dark sand beach and there is good shadow provided by the palm trees. The break is the most consistent in Costa Rica, and well known among surfers. The best surfing breaks occur from May to November, time of our best prices too! If you don’t surf you will enjoy walking on it and swimming on low tide.

Hermosa Palms is a family friendly and exclusive community just 2 kilometers (5 minute drive) south of the village of Playa Hermosa, famous for surfing since it has held international competitions. Hermosa has lively restaurants and bars where surfers and locals hang together, as well as small grocery stores. Larger supermarkets, restaurants and pizzerias deliver to Hermosa Palms. In any case, you can also easily go to Jaco, just a 15 minute ride from the house.

Manuel Antonio town and its National Park is only a 50 minute drive away and is an excellent day tour. Golf and sport fishing are 20 minutes away, at the Los Suenos Resort and Marina.

Down the road from Hermosa Palms you will find the National Wild Life Refuge of Playa Hermosa that protects the habitat of sea turtles that come to lay their eggs on the beach from July to September. The eggs then hatch and the small turtles return to the sea from December to February. This is a spectacle worth seeing once in a lifetime, especially for children.

  The manager, Gabriel, went above and beyond to help us with our rental and offer assistance in planning events during our stay. I can't say enough great things about him!! The house was in order and very comfortable for us. Only suggestion would be to add a raised platform for the outdoor shower so that you don't have to stand in the mud and get your feet dirty while cleaning the rest of your body:-)

  I have visited C.R. 5 times before in hotels , I will never go to a hotel again. I have found my home away from home @ Hermosa Plams. The house was perfect ,the management was very helpful an they welcoming bottle of wine was superb!

  Everything was great except all the bed clothing of one of the rooms that was dirty because a dog slept in that bed and no one changed and cleaned that particular bed.

  Outstanding house and affordable. My family was well treated- like customers should be. I was very impressed with the houe and it's location. The only problem was the downstairs air conditioning was out for the first few days and should have been verified to be operating before we arrived-but this was fixed quickly. I will consider returning same time next year. Thank you!

  Thanks for your comments Scott! The AC was an unfortunate event as we do check its operation before entry. We also do preventative maintenance to the units every 3 months. The unit was replaced less than 48 hours later after reported. To compensate we let go the fee of losing two sets of keys and the few missing items in the house. We hope to see you soon!   This house was absolutely beautiful and had everything we needed for our stay. Although it doesn't face the beach, it is literally a 1 minute walk to get there. The house pool was great and so was the community pool. The location was great as there were many day trips that could be done from here. We loved it and would stay here again. I don't have enough good things to say about the house and about the help we received from Beachhome Costa Rica Rentals.
