Our family had the most wonderful experience at Villa Daiquiri! The house is spacious and could easily fit 10 people although this time it was just our family of four. The house has pretty much everything you could possibly need and if you do have a need, property management will be sure to quickly help you out. The family that maintains the house and grounds are just delightful and so very helpful. The large upstairs deck is the perfect place to privately enjoy the sunset over the ocean or read a book in the morning before anyone but the birds are awake; the back yard is a wonderland of flowers, fruit trees (especially delicious mangos!), and visiting iguanas and monkeys (every single day!). Several times the kids and I laid in the hammocks eating tree ripened fruit, watching the monkeys in the trees above and reading books in the perfect temperature while my husband went on fishing adventures. The huge private swimming pool is absolutely wonderful with it's waterfall, bridge, shaded seating area and even outdoor bathroom/change room.
The location is fantastic - right on the beach, quite close to the airport (20 minutes) yet set amongst the people. Playa Hermosa has a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere as opposed to the beach party atmosphere at other areas. There are several restaurants on the beach - do not miss going to family friendly The Rock Beach Bar, just a 2 minute walk down the beach from the house. The atmosphere is so fun and friendly and they serve the best red snapper ever!! Would we go back - in a heartbeat. In fact I left a piece of my heart there! -

We stayed at Villa Daiquiri with 2 families each with 3 children ages 8,13,14,14,17, &19. We started with a direct flight midweek from JFK to Liberia. The house is located only 20 minutes from the airport. From reading other reviews we felt like we wanted to rent a car to have the freedom to go places on our own(other beaches, groceries etc) We used Beachfront's suggestion of adobe car rental. We required an automatic & a GPS but my brother who we were traveling with was able to drive standard & came prepared with the maps downloaded on his GPS & this saved him money. We were a bit surprised when we got there that there was a $1000 deposit on the car but evidently this is a common procedure there. We were pleased with our Hundai Tuscon for our family of 5 it worked great & we did drive on a few dirt roads. We chose a house over a hotel because we are not a family of 4 & would have required multiple hotel rooms & we were able to prepare meals in our own kitchen if we wanted to. There are a few grocery stores nearby that have everything you need & you can drink the water. The house is located on the beach. You could not be closer! The grounds are beautiful & maintained with fruit trees, large swimming pool with tables, chairs, fountain, multiple hammocks, parrots, & monkey sightings. Security & safety were not a problem. The inside was very spacious & clean. Lots of space to sleep, relax, inernet if needed & play pool. Very large living room & kitchen. Plenty of bathrooms. We were thrilled. The caretakers there were wonderful. Very kind & pleasant as it seems that is a characteristic of the Ticos. We were able to do some snorkeling very close by and some nights we had a fire on the beach. We were very pleased with Tim at Beachfront who helped us with the information we needed.

We spent 16 wonderful days at the Villa Daiquiri in February 2012. The house has everything you need and located right on the beach. It is within easy walking distance of restaurants and groceries. The house was very spacious offering lots of room for the 8 of us. The pool was wonderful, within sight of the beach with its glorious sunsets. The on site staff were absolutely wonderful, looking after all our needs. This is the second time we have rented from Jeffrey Grayson and again we were not disappointed. If you are looking for sun, beach, and privacy, while in walking distance of bars, restaurants, and tours, then you can find it at Villa Daiquiri. Thank you, Jeff for a wonderful time.

Our family (11 of us!) enjoyed this completely private, nicely maintained older residence, for an entire week. The private pool was gorgeous and featured a fountain and bridge (the pool was cleaned daily). We could step out of the gated area and walk along the beach. Monkeys, parakeets, iguanas and other wildlife were so close you could always find something to watch. The beach had 2 resturants and a short car ride found several other resturants and a grocery store. The house and grounds keepers were wonderful and we never lacked for anything! Beachfront Properties also provided us excellent recommendations for excursions. We throughly enjoyed our Tico Tours adventure to Rincon de la Vieja Volcano (thanks Bernal and Guss!), 1/2 day fishing and the Sailing and Snorkeling cruise. We also rented a van (Adobe was fantastic!) and drove to Playa Conchal - one of the loveliest beaches we've seen. Also, we had two very very good meals by Rocio's Kithchen, Rocio came to our villa, prepared, served and cleaned up! Talk about pampered! We will definitely do this vacation again!

Everything was as advertised and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The villa was a grand remembrance of days gone by.
The greeting and villa staff were wonderful and very helpful.
The master suite was very comfortable. The only problem was it took so long to fill the two person jacuzzi tub, but, very nice when filled.
Some furnishings are worn and need updating.
The only limitation was the seating for meals, but, we were a party of 6 and worked around this quite easily. Larger parties might struggle.
The area is secure and we were comfortable with the measures taken.
It sits on a public beach, so you are in the middle of the locals and all that come with them.
Easy walk to beach front restaurants that serve local fare.
Easy drive to activities and other sites. -

We had a wonderful time at Villa Daiquiri in Playa Hermosa. Andres and his family are the caretakers for the property and are very attentive.
The Villa is a private beach estate as advertised. It was more than large enough to accomodate our family of 5 adults and 5 kids. We felt very safe and secure within the gated grounds. One of the only detriments of our vacation were the frequent power outages. They were a bit alarming at first but the family got used to the routine after the first one.
The locals are very friendly and the weather during our stay was beautiful. We recommend the villa, Playa Hermosa and the Guanacaste area of Costa Rica. -

The location was very nice. The house was not as advertised. We were expecting a villa typical of others we had rented. Nothing in the home seemed to work properly. Everything was shabby,from beds,linens.Appliances, T.V.s,Radios and CD players that were not there or not working. I was expecting better for the price and the literature. The owners need to take stock of what they have and what they need to make it a true upscale rental. It could have been a place that we would visit again. Instead we rented a villa in St.John for the same money, easier to get to and a much finer house.

I personally don't rememeber this renter but they did receive the review request. The owners took possession the year before and since this renter was there 2 years ago have made many improvements to the house as well as the amenities. When compared to most "on the beach" properties in Costa Rica this is a palace. My biggest issue here is why wait 2 years to complain? I never heard complaints from them before.
