On the Papagayo Gulf, about 20 minutes from the brand new Liberia International Airport, Playa Hermosa Hermosa, which means "beautiful" in Spanish, is a gray-sand beach that sits between two mountains. Guanacaste's Playa Hermosa is situated between Playa del Coco and Playa Panama (there is another Playa Hermosa in Costa Rica near Jaco). Hermosa is seldom as crowded as its neighbors. It is a fabulous getaway for those seeking quality relaxation and its calm waters offer a great place for swimming.

Los AngelesExcellent location with an incredible view!

We chose the Playa Hermosa Ocean View Villa because of customer reviews and views, but it turned out better than expected. Whether you feel like going down to Ginger for amazing tapas-style dining or you just want grab groceries for some home cooked meals back at the villa, it's very convenient and only a short walk to the restaurant or grocery store. Perfect for a relaxing vaca!

Put this on your list and enjoy your stay in Costa Rica. We just returned and it was the best vacation of our 30+ years of vacation. The condo was clean and neat, filled with all the amenities that make it like home and control your expenses.
The view from the patio combined with the natural wildlife sounds is truly spiritual!
The staff at the facility were superb and very helpful. We took three trips arranged by the staff and each was fabulous. We enjoyed the pools, dining and cocktails.
The scenery was exquisite. This is a must to revive your soul! You will enjoy.

San DiegoThe View is amazing!
Left on 02/02/2012 for a stay in January 2012
Wife and I booked #51 with the idea of a reunion with a couple of old friends, but a medical issue caused them to cancel at the last moment, so it was just the two of us. Unit is very well appointed and the view from the "great room" and patio is amazing! Wi-fi access and DVD player were a nice bonus as they had to replace planned evening gabfests. Ten minute walk to and from beach, or if you're unfit/lazy, shuttles come by every 5-10 minutes. Beach is quite pretty (just remember to say "no gracias" to anyone who approaches you unless you want to spend hours with time-share sales people), and there's some ok snorkeling on the right side. We went off to Playas del Coco (15 minute drive) for our major food shopping and five minutes more takes you to Playa Ocotal which has better snorkeling.
Dealing with Denise in booking the unit was excellent and we had no issues while there. Only reason I'm giving it four (would prefer 4 1/2) rather than five stars is that it is located within a very large resort complex with lots of families and partying. The pool (a two-minute walk) is always mobbed and the nightly karaoke coming from it as well as whatever activity was going on on the two adjoining patios) made sitting on the deck in the evening less than pristine (no sound in the unit itself though). Also, be aware that the bedrooms (3) are fairly small, so, other than sleeping, you'll be spending all of your time in the great room/patio area.
All in all, especially if you prefer eating in (we picked up yummy take-out from Bocelli's Pizza, Uncle Earl's BBQ and Soda La Teresita) over restaurants as we do, it is a far superior option to a hotel room and with only the two of us inhabiting the unit we had a great time!Response from Michele with Linden Partners - 02/09/2012
Owner
Michael, I'm so glad you and your wife had a great time in Costa Rica. I'm sorry that your friends weren't able to join you. I'm glad you found some delicious take-out. I hope you'll have the opportunity to reschedule your reunion and keep us in mind for future getaways.
thank you -

ColoradoWonderful Villa!!!
Left on 08/19/2011 for a stay in August 2011
This villa was perfect! Our favorite part was the large porch where you can sit out and enjoy the amazing view. We talked with other people staying in the resort and it seemed like our view was the best!! The villa is very close to the big pool, just a few feet away, which was very convenient. Everything in the house was comfortable and worked well. The villa was very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed! We plan to return to Playa Hermosa next year and hope to stay in this villa again.

Atlanta, GeorgiaLots of fun and a good bargain
Left on 12/01/2009 for a stay in November 2009
I remember most sitting on the porch in the afternoon and watching the
sunset. It's lovely, especially with the clouds. The cottage is well-equipped,
best for four adults and two children, and the resort has activities to keep
people busy. We liked being able to buy groceries nearby (even some from
the store on the property) and save money by cooking breakfast and some
dinners in the kitchen area or on the grill. Being up on a hill with this view
with such easy beach access is priceless. Also, Nancy, one of the masseuses
in the spa, is the best I've ever known.
The activities are the best part. Right from the beach there are dive or
snorkel boats, great fishing boats to pick you up (I caught a sailfish and a
yellowfin tuna), and warm swimming water with small waves, except at high
tide. My wife and I walked the length of the beach every morning.
For tours, I recommend Bernal's trip to the Palo Verde National Park (half
day with boat cruise), and any of the zip lines. I heard the combo tour is
also really good but we didn't have time. -

New York, NYPura Vida
Left on 09/25/2009 for a stay in July 2009
This Villa was in a full service resort complex with access to two pools and really anything you could ever want. The beachfront access was sublime and the staff at Villa Sol are very accommodating. The location could not get any better and the view is out of this world. I love that in the villa, we had the option to prep meals and drinks, it was so easy, truly the essence of "Pura Vida" (pure life)! The beachy decor enables your relaxation. You really have everything you could need under one roof or in a nearby vicinity. The best part is the spacious relaxing interior, matched with the endless ocean view exterior that really helps you feel like there are no limits here. I will highly recommend this villa for anything from taking a family vacation to a romantic get-a-way in playa Hermosa, Costa Rica.

Baltimore, MDA great villa in a beautiful area
Left on 09/21/2009 for a stay in August 2009
We recently returned from a fun filled vacation at Villas Sol. The resort was beautiful and the location of our villa was perfect- a short distance from the pool, activities center and restaurants. It was about a five minute walk to the beach, but if we did not want to walk, there was always a golf cart nearby. The villa was roomy and well equipped. I was mesmerized by the view from our extremely large balcony. It was totally breathtaking. I loved sitting out on the patio at anytime, but especially in the evening watching the sunset. We ate some meals in the villa, tried the all-inclusive and sampled a number of wonderful restaurants in the area. In fact, there were more restaurants than we had days to go! At Villas Sol, we swam, snorkeled, kayaked, took a boat trip, played games, volleyball and sunbathed. The staff at the resort was fun and friendly. Beyond the villa, we went on a hanging bridges walk in a rain forest, a canopy (zip line) tour, and hiked in a volcanic park. There is still so much more we could have done, if only we had the time and the energy! Next Trip!!!!!!

Almonesson, NJGorgeous Pacific sunsets in lovely Villa and Resort
Left on 09/15/2009 for a stay in August 2009
A private villa in a protected resort setting situated on mountainside overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Playa Hermosa is a lovely small beach and a short walk from the villa. The Villa Sol Resort also provides rides up and down the hill from the beach. Just a few steps from the villa is a beautiful swimming pool and another pool is located at the bar and hotel up the path. The Villa #51 has a perfect sunset view. The gardens are beautifully landscaped. There are three bedrooms and 2 baths. A well equipted kitchen is open to the dining and living room area and close to the porch patio. You can use the resort for meals or cook for yourself in the villa. We ate breakfast and lunch in the villa and went out for dinner at the many fine restaurants in town or Playa Panama or Coco. There are many day trips to take from Hermosa if you want more adventure.
