My friends and I have travelled throughout Mexico and up until this stay our favorite place was Sayulita. but Sayulita has gotten so busy we longed for the days when it was considered a remote spot, not discovered by gringos. Well, Villa del Mar won our hearts and it is just an hour North of Sayulita, on the most beautiful, truly remote beach I have seen on this coast.
The villa is "overthe top" gorgeous in a very authentic, mexican way. It is accessorized with wonderful crafts from all over Mexico, but so user friendly!
The staff is there to attend to what ever you may need. The long drive in makes this place truly off the beaten path, on your own private beach, safe and secure.
Now is a great time to visit this beach as the name implies Playa Las Tortugas (Turtle Beach) the turtles are nesting and the little guys are being released almmost nightly.
We swam in the ocean, the estuary and the pool multiple times daily. The surf is good a little ways down for those who like to surf, but right in front the boogy-boarding was excellent and all the boards were there for our use.
I could say more, but my suggestion is just go and take your family or a bunch of friends and have the time of your lives in what I call paradise!
