Kildeer, IllinoisLoved this house, didn't want to leave!
Left on 04/20/2013 for a stay in April 2013
This house has everything! Stayed here over Spring Break with 4 adults (mid-40s) and 5 kids (14, 14, 13, 11 and 7). Layout of house is perfect, room for everyone, very clean. From top to bottom-- 3rd floor deck: drinks at sunset, kids loved stargazing, too. 2nd floor deck was our breakfast area. Kitchen had everything we needed, including spices, oils, etc. for cooking. Beds were comfortable. Kids loved the bunk room. Plenty of towels. Office-style water coolers on both levels gave us cold water anytime. 1st floor the best -- 2nd kitchen, bathroom and the pool! Lots of space to hang out and plenty of shade for mid-afternoon. Pool gets cleaned daily. Loved the proximity to the beach -- kids loved looking for sea creatures in the tidepools at low tide. Short walk to resort restaurant with outdoor dining. Best part: Mary was so helpful. She was available whenever we had a question and helped plan activities. Mary booked us a snorkeling trip and day trip to Rincon de la Vieja, which everyone enjoyed (great price, includes horseback riding, ziplining, mud bath, whitewater tubing, hot springs -- a guide stayed with our youngest for the tubing and horseback riding). Both were well worth it, perfect vacation days. We loved Mary's recommended local restaurants. Local town was very friendly. Local store had everything we needed for breakfasts and lunch (we stocked up at supermarket in Liberia). Dirt roads can be really bumpy -- get an SUV and GPS (roads not well marked). We also booked Chef Michelle one night thru Mary and had dinner by the pool. Well worth it! Oh, also loved the pastry truck!

BurlingtonWonderful family vacation with our adult children
Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in February 2013
This is a perfect spot for a family vacation. The beach is beautiful and hidden away. We drank coffee on the deck every morning, walked the beach, surfed and hung out around the pool. Dinners were served beside the pool or in the air-conditioned dining room The house was the perfect size for 8 adults to hang out in. If you need a meal cooked for you Michelle was dynamite. Mary and her staff made everything run smoothly. I would recommend this beautiful setting for anyone who wants to enjoy the sun, surf and a beautiful sunset in Costa Rica without a beach full of people. Fabulous

My wife and I have stayed in villas all over the world and we agreed that Casa Ola Perfecta was better than advertised. Everything was perfect. The views from the balcony was worth the trip alone. The infinity pool was cleaned every day and enjoyed every day. During the day we would take 3-4 hour day trips but we could not wait to get back to the villa. We would recommend Casa Ola Perfecta to anyone wanting a high end villa at a affordable price when visiting Costa Rica.

Spring Lake, MichiganGreat place to unwind and enjoy a vacation
Left on 01/29/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We had a great time in Costa Rica and Casa Ola Perfecta was a big part of the reason.
Traveling as a couple, this house was more than we needed to be happy. However, when you compare the cost of a quality hotel or condo it was an easy choice.
The location overlooking the ocean only steps away, the pool, the multiple decks, and seeing the gorgeous night sky light up with stars was everything we could have asked for ...and much more.
Its quiet, private and only a short drive to Tamarindo if you are looking for nightlife and fun.
I would highly recommend this property and Mary is great to work with. -

Left on 01/11/2013 for a stay in December 2012
Casa Ola Perfecta is the perfect spot to enjoy a family or friends gateway whether or not you are surf champions. Wonderful open space around the large pool right over the ocean.
Unfortunately windows don't open in the rooms and at night the aC replaces the sound of the waves.
Ads don't lie ! It really looks like on the pictures, even better. -

Left on 09/25/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Amazing views, Great Surf, and a very helpful property manager! I have been vacationing in Costa Rica every year for the last 10 years and this is by far the best property I have ever had stayed in. The house is extremely clean and well kept. I will make a point to stay here again every time I visit Costa Rica!

Andover, MassachusettsPlaya Negra Beach House
Left on 03/08/2011 for a stay in February 2011
We decided to rent a beachhouse in Playa Negra. The roads were horrible all dirt roads. The food in the area was terrible. For two days at the beach house, we had no water and had to go to the pool and lug buckets upstairs. We did not get the keys to one of the doors until we were there for four days and asked a number of times. The window cranks were taken out so windows could not be opened. There were balconies on two bedrooms and those doors were closed with bungee cords so that they could not be opened. The pool was over our heads, so just lounging in the pool was a problem. There was nothing to do but surf in the area. We did not feel safe. I would never go to Costa Rica again!

The remote rustic charm of Playa Negra is not for every traveler, and so it is incumbent upon everyone to do their own research before planning a trip to this area. Playa Negra offers a variety of dining options, from pizza and local fare to French and Peruvian cuisine; however it is difficult to accommodate everyone’s tastes in a small town. This guest actually found fault with every restaurant they visited, even the restaurant that is run by a gentleman who has served as the “in house chef” for U.S Presidents and who, was prior to retirement and the opening of his restaurant in Playa Negra, employed by the Four Seasons to open and operate the restaurants that were opening at new Four Seasons locations worldwide. Other guests, locals and the concierges of a nearby JW Marriott resort would all rate this particular restaurant with the highest of ratings. During this guest’s stay, the gated community in which this house is located conducted an emergency repair to the water system, so all houses were without water until the repair was complete. It is unfortunate that it happened during their stay, but beyond our control. As you drive into Casa Ola Perfecta from the east, you are on paved roads except for the last 2.5 miles and this road is regularly graded. Casa Ola Perfecta is unique in that all ground-level doors (including the garage door) require push-button codes to open these doors thus alleviating the need for keys to any of these doors. Additionally, the house has a functioning alarm system covering every area of the house and garage. For added security of our guests, the gated community is patrolled by private guards that rotate on a continuous basis between 10 subscribing homes in the gated community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year. The infinity pool at Casa Ola Perfecta offers two bench seats with tables, 40 feet of infinity edge, 5 submerged barstools at the infinity edge, a beach entrance, a swim out and a spa with benches that accommodates up to 8 to 10 large adults, all for the express purpose of lounging; there are indeed deep parts of the pool – to accommodate swimmers, floats, and guests who want to enjoy the waterslide. To enhance the ocean views from almost everywhere inside the house, the screens have been removed and the cranks were removed to minimize the damage from the salt air. Because there are outside decks which total over 3,000 sq. feet of outdoor area, the windows are not designed to be opened. To maintain a comfortable temperature in the house year round, every room has AC. While Playa Negra is world-renowned for fantastic surfing, the surrounding areas also offer ATV and canopy tours, hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, horseback riding on the beach, world-class fishing, sunset boat tours, and miles of pristine deserted beaches. If you prefer the surroundings of a hotel, its attendant staff and lack of privacy, then Casa Ola Perfecta is probably not the house for you. If you prefer shopping and bustling nightlife, Playa Negra is probably not the place for you. However if you enjoy true adventure off the beaten path, then Costa Rica and Playa Negra are perfect for you!

This house made our vacation excellent! Traveling with 8 people, we were all able to have our own space as well as come together as a group. The kitchen by the pool was where we spent most of our time - waking up with coffee and breakfast by the pool with the amazing view couldn't be beat! All the comforts of home (wifi, security, satellite TV, maid service, and every appliance you could ever need). If you don't want to cook, there are great restaurants in the area - short drive or even a short walk on the beach.

The house is awesome! The view of the ocean and the infinity pool are great, but the best thing about this house is the full kitchen on the back porch which allows you to prepare your own meals and eat them all while watching and listening to the waves break. This house is awesome!

Since March, 2006, my significant other and I visited Casa Ola Perfecta two times a year until 2009. There was no other place for us to go on vacation since it took care of both of our needs. He was there for surfing, basically, and I was there for the beautiful beaches, wonderful house and pool and all the great people we met and they have become lifelong friends!! Mary took wonderful care of us. The house was amazing. We stayed in the cozy, romantic ground level studio, since there was only two of us but the upstairs main house was beautiful also. The views were just incredible. We would float in the pool and watch the whales jumping along with all the surfers surfing since the break was right out from the house. How convenient!!! I have to say, Mary made our vacation just perfect. Anything we wanted...she took care of!! He loved pastry's so the Pandaria truck came right to the house. We both loved fish so she had the fish truck come right to the house. If we just wanted to stay in, she would bring food to us. She helped make our trips absolutely perfect!! There wasn't any time that we were in the car for a long period of time since everything we wanted to see was very close. And, if it was a longer trip than expected, we were always amazed at the beauty of the country. It was a honeymoon every time we were there!!!...Pura Vida
