Casa Vista Del Mar is literally the house that looks out to the sea.
On a small hilltop centrally positioned over Playa Samara, the view of the Pacific ocean is an uninterrupted 180 degrees from Playa Carrillo all the way to Playa Buena Vista. The mature trees on the property which is one and a half acres (.6 hectare), give a protective canopy and a real opporunity to experience some of Costa Rica's unique flora and fauna on your own terms.
The view of Playa Samara from Casa Vista Del Mar is one of the best in the area. (Don't just take our word for it, you can see the comments on the Tripadvisor Travel Forum for Playa Samara... dated March 19, 2012. )
Sitting out by the 26 foot (8 meter) swimming pool you can watch the kayakers setting off to snorkel around Isla Chora or early in the morning, the fishermen casting their nets. At any time of day the view gives you something to watch, the reef emerging as the tide goes out or even dolphins playing in the bay.
The octagonal design of Casa Vista Del Mar has a huge central living space with a 22 ft. (7 metre) high ceiling made of tropical hard wood. Air flows naturally around the house and the temperature stays comfortable most of the time. The bedrooms each have individually controlled air-conditioners available as an optional extra.
There are three bedrooms, each of which have their own individual character, two of the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms while the third has a shared bathroom next to it.
In the kitchen you will find all the standard appliances and equipment you expect, including of course a coffee maker and a blender so that you can enjoy the excellent local coffee and delicious fresh fruit. Just beside the kitchen is the outdoor dining area with an adjacent, covered, gas barbecue area. A separate laundry room comes equipped with washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board.
Casa Vista Del Mar will give you access to complimentary local telephone, Wi-Fi Broadband Internet and Satellite TV providing over 200 channels of audio and video entertainment, mostly in English and Spanish.
The grounds are regularly visited by Howler monkeys making their way through the canopy, parrots chatter amongst themselves and many other beautiful birds and butterflies are to be seen as you wander the paths or take a pause on one of the benches along the way.
A ten to fifteen minute walk down our mostly shaded and quiet paved road takes you to the beach, turning right and you are soon in the centre of Samara. There you will find taxis are always available for the $4 to $5 ride home.Read more

We spent a long w/e at Casa Vista del Mar recently & felt like we'd won the lottery! Nothing can prepare you for the moment you step out onto the lush lawn next to the stunning pool and take in the breathtaking seaview.
The round conical design of the house is also totally unique - the main living room has a wow-factor ceiling and an arc of patio doors that open out onto the wrap-around patio. The balinese style wood used throughout gives it great charm too.
We instantly felt at ease there with our 2 year old. Its a luxurious home-from-home with exceptionally well stocked kitchen (the only dishwasher we found in all of Costa Rica!) and has a great gas BBQ.
We didn't have a car so the lovely agent David kindly gave us a lift to the house when we arrived in Samara. He was extremely helpful throughout. Taxis were easy to pick up in the village or to call from the house & were approx $4 each way.
Samara was our final (and favourite) destination on a 3 week trip up the coast from Manuel antonio. Samara's paved roads, calm sea and laidback beach bars were incredibly relaxing in comparison to surfer/traveller hang-outs such as Santa Teresa. I just wish we'd stayed longer hanging in the hammock with a humming bird above and staring at that incredible view!

Comfortable spacious house with fabulous views over the ocean. Quiet and private garden with pool. Walk to shops and restaurants, and an enormous sandy beach. The owners are very helpful, and I would highly recommend this rental property.

We had actually been wanting to go to Costa Rica for the last few years, and finally made the trip January 2012. We were thrilled with the chance to come and enjoy the beauty of this beautiful country. We had a fabulous week with our family (5 adults)enjoying the splendor of Samara. We were astounded by the amazing view from the house. Probably one of the best and most memorable aspects of the trip was just spending time at the house, lounging by the pool and soaking up the sun. We loved the wild life surrounding the home and got some great pictures of iguanas and heard the Howler monkeys every morning. We can't say enough about the house! It was clean, homey, so open and airy, well equipped kitchen with everything we could need and more. The area was so picturesque and felt very safe. The weather was perfect every day!
The home owners really go the extra mile in making sure you have a great trip. The reading material in the house was very helpful and informative. We took the owner's advice and did the ultra light tour (a helicoper tour of the area) which was amazing!! We tried the restaurants suggested in the guest book...our favourite was the Pacific Lodge (great food, wonderful service). Other highlights were the turtles laying eggs on the beach and Howler Monkeys swinging through the trees close to the beach. We also rented some kayaks and snorkeled off the nearby island (forget the name? maybe it was Isla Cora??)
The staff who took care of the home were very friendly and did a great job keeping the house clean and the grounds looking beautiful. The gentleman that took care of the pool was very friendly and suggested some fun things to do in the area. The neighbour's son who kept the grounds looking beautiful was always courteous and did his job very well!
We are so thankful for such a relaxing and memorable vacation. Our family was thrilled with the house and we all had a really great time. Thanks for everything!!

We had a wonderful family reunion in Playa Samara during Christmas week. It is a very private house with a view of which you will never tire. The house is spacious , 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, large eating/living room. The kitchen was sufficient.
We did walk to the beach which is not far if one goes directly to the beach and not to the town of Samara. The beach is super, large sandy area to walk when the tide is out. I've never seen so many people in the water on any other beach around the world.
We virtually lived outdoors. We saw iguanas, monkeys etc from the pool deck. A great introduction to wildlife in Costa Rica.
Fantastic location, amazing view and a home away from home!

My partner stayed here with two other couples and there was plenty of space for us all to move around in, without cramping anyone's style.
The location is fantastic, with amazing views over the coast line. The pool is ideally placed so you can enjoy a dip and the views at the same time. The house has all the amenities that you could need - we chose to eat in as often as we ate out!
The beach is a 5 minute walk down hill and the the town about 10 mins walk along the beach. The only down side is the walk back up the hill, but for the view at the top, it was worth it!
We got to see and hear alot of the local wildlife, some of it not so welcome - like the scorpian in the shower or tarantula in the pool - but these are just a fact of life in this country and apart from maybe giving you a nip are nothing to loose sleep over. Having the Howler monkeys playing in the trees above the house was a pretty great thing to see, along with the iguana's sun bathing.

We were lucky enough to spend the month of February at the lovely Casa Vista Del Mar. A fully equipped 3 bedroom, 3 bath home with spectacular ocean views of Playa Samara and tropical breezes. This home was perfect for us, and having a fully equipped kitchen allowed us to eat many of our meals at home, and why not, the house is perched up top of a small hill that allows a glorious view of the ocean, with it's tropical breezes and the lovely beach below. The open style dining area and patio allows great outdoor dining with a gas BBQ grill nestled among the well manicured lawn and perfect pool.
The house offers a/C and wi-fi, both necessaties we felt we couldn't do with out, especially since we were there for the month. The wi-fi saved us many trips to town to the internet cafes and the the a/C in the bedroom really made sleeping enjoyable, remember the average daily tempertature there in Feb. is about 89 - 92 degrees.
The weekly maid service that is included was impecable, and having our own laundry facility made things easy.
the large living/dining area is open and spacious and the large sofa made hangin out comfy. the flat screen offers HBO and was entertaining for us who enjoyed hanging in and watching a good movie.
The house is located on a quiet road a short distance from town, many walk to the beach from the house, but we rented a car and found it way more convientent and definetly a lot cooler. The home owners Kate and Will were friendly, pleasent and very easy to deal with. There is not one bad thing I can say about this house. It was more than we had expected and we felt safe and comfortable during our vacation there. Playa Samara is one of our most favorite places in Costa Rica. It offers us a great, safe place to spend a stress free vacation We spent many days just snorkeling on either of the 2 reefs, body surfing the waves, relaxing at the beach or a sunset horse back ride. We loved Casa Vista del Mar and hope to come back again.

Great week. Beautiful house and having coffee in the morning look out over the pool to the pacific ocean were so traquil. Samara itself is also a little gem, with the beach close by and loads of choice for restaurants.
