Casa Vista Del Mar is literally the house that looks out to sea.
On a small hill centrally positioned over Playa Samara, the view of the Pacific ocean is an uninterrupted 180 degrees from Playa Carrillo all the way to Playa Buena Vista. Comfortable spacious house with fabulous views over the ocean. Quiet and private garden with pool. Walk to shops and restaurants, and an enormous sandy beach. The owners are very helpful, and I would highly recommend this rental property.

Ailsa Craig, ONA fantastic week at a fabulous venue!!
Left on 01/26/2012 for a stay in January 2012
We had actually been wanting to go to Costa Rica for the last few years, and finally made the trip January 2012. We were thrilled with the chance to come and enjoy the beauty of this beautiful country. We had a fabulous week with our family (5 adults)enjoying the splendor of Samara. We were astounded by the amazing view from the house. Probably one of the best and most memorable aspects of the trip was just spending time at the house, lounging by the pool and soaking up the sun. We loved the wild life surrounding the home and got some great pictures of iguanas and heard the Howler monkeys every morning. We can't say enough about the house! It was clean, homey, so open and airy, well equipped kitchen with everything we could need and more. The area was so picturesque and felt very safe. The weather was perfect every day!
The home owners really go the extra mile in making sure you have a great trip. The reading material in the house was very helpful and informative. We took the owner's advice and did the ultra light tour (a helicoper tour of the area) which was amazing!! We tried the restaurants suggested in the guest book...our favourite was the Pacific Lodge (great food, wonderful service). Other highlights were the turtles laying eggs on the beach and Howler Monkeys swinging through the trees close to the beach. We also rented some kayaks and snorkeled off the nearby island (forget the name? maybe it was Isla Cora??)
The staff who took care of the home were very friendly and did a great job keeping the house clean and the grounds looking beautiful. The gentleman that took care of the pool was very friendly and suggested some fun things to do in the area. The neighbour's son who kept the grounds looking beautiful was always courteous and did his job very well!
We are so thankful for such a relaxing and memorable vacation. Our family was thrilled with the house and we all had a really great time. Thanks for everything!!

We had a wonderful family reunion in Playa Samara during Christmas week. It is a very private house with a view of which you will never tire. The house is spacious , 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, large eating/living room. The kitchen was sufficient.
We did walk to the beach which is not far if one goes directly to the beach and not to the town of Samara. The beach is super, large sandy area to walk when the tide is out. I've never seen so many people in the water on any other beach around the world.
We virtually lived outdoors. We saw iguanas, monkeys etc from the pool deck. A great introduction to wildlife in Costa Rica. -

NYCCasa Vista del Mar - Just as the Owner Describes It - Awesome
Left on 09/25/2011 for a stay in August 2011
Returned before Labor Day after 2 wonderful weeks here with my family (my wife, 80 yr old mother-in-law & 7 yr old and 9 yr old children). It is magical to awake and fall asleep each day to the sound of the howler monkeys, frogs, birds and cicadas. It's good for your soul here. Owner's description of house is accurate and Wifi and satellite TV work well (not sure about the claim of a 10 minute walk to nearest beach). The 180 degree water views are intoxicating -- you get spoiled by them and then miss them terribly. The sunsets, cloud formations, rainbows are unreal. You definitely need a 4x4 to fully enjoy your time in and around Samara and getting to the house (maybe not the case in the dry season -- the house is off a short bit of unpaved road). Although there is a house directly below the pool area facing the Pacific/Samara Bay, you cannot see them (we never did) and you cannot hear them. If fact you can't hear much of anything except the wildlife. The house is perfectly located about a 5 min drive away from town. Samara has several adequate grocery stores, a good butcher a great MD, Freddy Soto. Samara as described has the best beach for families because it's protected by an outer coral reef. Carillo is 8 min drive and a knock-out of a beach (but can have rough tides). Melissa Marin who manages the house for Samara Realty is very professional, accessible and helpful. The owner, Will is quite also accessible and quite helpful and friendly.
Things to know: * This is not the typical sugar-white sand Caribbean experience -- you're in the jungle -- and nature is everywhere including crocs in many of the rivers and abundant wildlife if you're willing to take the time to explore it -- if not, this is still an incredibly relaxing place to just chill out.
* The water is drinkable from all faucets -- none of us ever got sick (although we would not suggest drinking the water/ice from the fridge door - odd taste). * Be extra careful with the pool and small children/non-swimmers. There are several broad steps into the pool, then a sharp incline and then it goes straight to something like 10 ft/3m. * There are enough good restaurants in town, but prices aren't Mexico/Central america levels -- dinners for 4 without dessert, alcohol is about us$60.
* If creepy crawly things freak you out (like I said, you're in the jungle), be aware you may see scorpions (sting is like a bee here), tarantulas, colorful spiders and others (we did) - but next to no mosquitos. * Stay off the beach at/near dusk - the "no see 'ums are brutal.
*** Enjoy this special property and place. *** -

Adelaide AustraliaFantastic location, amazing view and a home away from home!
Left on 09/06/2011 for a stay in July 2011
My partner stayed here with two other couples and there was plenty of space for us all to move around in, without cramping anyone's style.
The location is fantastic, with amazing views over the coast line. The pool is ideally placed so you can enjoy a dip and the views at the same time. The house has all the amenities that you could need - we chose to eat in as often as we ate out!
The beach is a 5 minute walk down hill and the the town about 10 mins walk along the beach. The only down side is the walk back up the hill, but for the view at the top, it was worth it!
We got to see and hear alot of the local wildlife, some of it not so welcome - like the scorpian in the shower or tarantula in the pool - but these are just a fact of life in this country and apart from maybe giving you a nip are nothing to loose sleep over. Having the Howler monkeys playing in the trees above the house was a pretty great thing to see, along with the iguana's sun bathing.
All in all our time here was fantastic! -

Martha's Vineyard, Mass.Glorious stay at Casa Vista Del Mar, Samara
Left on 03/29/2011 for a stay in February 2011
We were lucky enough to spend the month of February at the lovely Casa Vista Del Mar. A fully equipped 3 bedroom, 3 bath home with spectacular ocean views of Playa Samara and tropical breezes. This home was perfect for us, and having a fully equipped kitchen allowed us to eat many of our meals at home, and why not, the house is perched up top of a small hill that allows a glorious view of the ocean, with it's tropical breezes and the lovely beach below. The open style dining area and patio allows great outdoor dining with a gas BBQ grill nestled among the well manicured lawn and perfect pool.
The house offers a/C and wi-fi, both necessaties we felt we couldn't do with out, especially since we were there for the month. The wi-fi saved us many trips to town to the internet cafes and the the a/C in the bedroom really made sleeping enjoyable, remember the average daily tempertature there in Feb. is about 89 - 92 degrees.
The weekly maid service that is included was impecable, and having our own laundry facility made things easy.
the large living/dining area is open and spacious and the large sofa made hangin out comfy. the flat screen offers HBO and was entertaining for us who enjoyed hanging in and watching a good movie.
The house is located on a quiet road a short distance from town, many walk to the beach from the house, but we rented a car and found it way more convientent and definetly a lot cooler. The home owners Kate and Will were friendly, pleasent and very easy to deal with. There is not one bad thing I can say about this house. It was more than we had expected and we felt safe and comfortable during our vacation there. Playa Samara is one of our most favorite places in Costa Rica. It offers us a great, safe place to spend a stress free vacation We spent many days just snorkeling on either of the 2 reefs, body surfing the waves, relaxing at the beach or a sunset horse back ride. We loved Casa Vista del Mar and hope to come back again.

Great week. Beautiful house and having coffee in the morning look out over the pool to the pacific ocean were so traquil. Samara itself is also a little gem, with the beach close by and loads of choice for restaurants.
