georgiaPriceless Perfection!
Left on 07/25/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We just returned from nine glorious days at this beautiful villa. There were eleven people in our party, ages 3-70, including one child with special needs and a teenager with severe food allergies. The entire staff made us all feel very welcome. They went over and beyond any of our expectations!
The villa, pool and landscaping are impeccably beautiful. Each guest room has all the same details one would find at a five-star hotel. The bathrooms with the windows that open to the rainforest are just plain fun!!! The villa has two large screen tv's including dvd's and wii games. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the hammocks as the sun was setting.
Food...The chef, Gabriel, provided delicious meals. The food was fresh, tasty and presented beautifully. Even better, Gabriel willingly provided other food, and plenty of it, for our teenager with severe food allergies. Gabriel even tried new recipes he had never made before in order to accomodate our requests and they turned out delicious!!! Be sure to have Gabriel's carrot soup, flan, and tres leches cake...yummy!
Drinks...Christian can make any drink, alcoholic or non-alcoholic! His fresh pina-colodas, coco locos and miami vices was a were favorites. Our son has already tried to make the "house cocktail" back home. It's good, but not nearly as good as Christian's!
Concierge...Dayana, we miss you already! Wow! Anything, and we mean anything you need, want to do, suggestions, etc., Dayana is the "go to" girl! Our family thoroughly enjoyed her enthusiasm, suggestions for activities and the fact that she would go with us to help with the little friends and/or big friends!!! As "the boss" (our affectionate name for her!) Dayana has brought together a staff that is simply the best!
Staff...We've already mentioned the more visible staff members, but Mucho gratitude goes out to the housekeepers, groundskeeper and the security guard. Although often behind the scenes, the villa wouldn't run as smoothly without these four, wonderful people. Again, every staff member made us feel like this was our home away from home. We were truly blessed!
If you are considering renting a villa in Costa Rica, this is it...Pura Vida!!! -

I couldn't have been happier with the villa, the service, and all the amenities (food, bar, pool, etc.). I mean, what's not to like? The accommodations are beautiful -- one truly gets the feeling of being nestled away up in the hills. It goes without saying that the views are stunning. And more importantly, well, to this traveller at least -- everything here is done with a smile!

New York City, New YorkSimply amazing!
Left on 06/03/2011 for a stay in May 2011
My fiancé and I booked the villa for our wedding. We stayed 4 nights and had the time of our lives! The service is amazing and the food is very tasty. This coming from a picky New Yorker who loves to dine out.
Dayana was very accommodating as was the rest of the staff. The amenities were great, we spent most of the time out by the pool.
Our wedding day was handled with ease. I didn't have to do a thing. It was seamless and perfect!
We left for our honeymoon at the Four Seasons and I can honestly say we had more fun at the Villa. The Four Seasons is very remote and the service is comparable to the Villa. So, if we had the chance to do it all over again, we would have continued our stay at the villa!
Thank you for an amazing trip! -

East Hanover, New JerseyA mini-Four-Seasons!
Left on 05/06/2011 for a stay in April 2011
What luxury! My (new!) husband and I travelled to Costa Rica last month and stayed at Villa Buena Onda. We stayed on the property for a week, and were married there on april 9th, 2011! I don't even know where to begin! The accomodations are pure luxury (we've stayed at various Four Seasons resorts and this is equitable, just smaller and more private!). The Villa, pool area and grounds are pristine. You have a personal bartender (Christian), personal chef (Gabriel) and personal concierge (Dayana, who lives in a cottage on the property and is available 24/7) who attend to your every need! All of the the housekeeping and security staff are just as remarkable!
I want to get into all of the luxuries of the property, but have to comment on the outstanding service first. We travelled to Costa Rica with our 5-month old son. His first trip out of the country, his first trip anywhere! We were a little nervous but eventually decided that this would be a safe trip for him. Of course, Murphy's Law, our little baby boy came down with pink Eye during our stay - his first illness, and outside of the county no less! Dayana immediately loaded the 3 of us into her own car and took us to a Doctor that took such great care of our son! Now I will continue...
The Villa itself is a beautiful home. The first floor has a bar area with TV (the sports bar, as we considered it!), large living area with a large adjoining dining room, 3 bedrooms each with private baths, and a half bath off of the living area. Upstairs hosts 4 more large bedrooms each with private baths, and a media room with a large balcony beyond it. The 2-tiered pool will fit all of your guests and the swim-up-pool-bar offers seating for 4 and plenty of surrounding spots! There is a covered bar area just off of the pool that offers seating and shade from the beautiful (but hot!) Costa Rican sun and good times for all! Christian will take care of your every bar need, day and night (and trust me, we had our fill!).
Below the pool area is a sand volleyball court that we used to play bocce ball quite often (bocce equipment also provided by the villa!). 6 of the 7 bedrooms have ocean views. Incredible meals that are made to your liking are served to you in a beautiful table setting 3 times a day - with snacks in between (if you can even fit them!).
As for the wedding, it was the 2nd for us both. We kept it casual but Dayana and company made sure we still had all of the formalities that still matter - beautiful tables & covered chairs with linens, an amazing buffet, and a beautiful cake for us to cut together. For those who are looking for even more formalities, they can recommend photographers, videographers, etc. After, we retired again to the outdoor bar area and made a night of it!
I could not offer a more sincere reccomendation. Please, if you are travelling to Costa Rica with any more than 2 people - and particularly if you are planning on a wedding there - you must stay at Villa Buena Onda.
It is very afforable for the service you receive, and I promise you will leave there syaing..."baby, we have to come back!"
Signed...a very happy customer!!! -

We started our search many months before and were lucky enough to contact a great agent who recommended the property to us. We were a little apprehensive to begin with as the price was a little high, however now having been there, the value is way beyond what you get. The staff are amazing, I mean really amazing: Dayana the concierge will take care of all your needs and Christian the barman is a wonder with the blender. The food is great and I would suggest one night upgrading to the Red Snapper!!

This place is gorgeous and comfortable at the same time. The view of the ocean, the privacy, the double tiered pool, along with a marvelous staff and delicious food made our stay out of this world. It was the perfect setting for my neice's dinner party and for our family to enjoy each other without any work involved.
