Villa Ballena (house of falling water) is an excellent vacation villa choice for families and groups up to 12. This newly constructed 6,000 square foot Mediterranean style villa is located in within the private, gated community of Ladera Del Mar, five minutes east of the small beach community of Coco. Situated high in the local hills, Villa Ballena has magnificent panoramic views of the entire Gulf of Papagayo, the surrounding volcanic mountain range, and Coco in the valley below. The Villa is only twenty minutes from Liberia International Airport.
Villa Ballena features a wonderfully decorated, furnished, landscaped, open-air, environment, perfect for a relaxed, comfortable Costa Rican vacation. The Villa accommodates up to 12 guests. Each suite offers en-suite bathroom facilities, air conditioning, and ceiling fans. The Villa also has a wonderful infinity pool with waterfall; outside barbeque area; ample poolside lounging; a fully equipped kitchen; and spacious dining and living areas, with satellite TV, DVDs, CDs, and internet. The Villa is wonderfully decorated and landscaped and housekeeping is automatically included, making for a very comfortable and pleasing stay.
At your option, we recommend your stay at Villa Ballena also include the services of our wonderful Costa Rican chef; bartender/service attendant; and dedicated driver. In choosing these options, you will enjoy the benefits of a truly carefree, relaxing, and pampered vacation! Three wonderful meals would be served each day. Throughout the day, you will be treated to an exiting variety of tropical libations and Costa Rican treats. Your driver will be at your beck and call to take you on short or longer excursions. If you decide not to select these inclusive options, the Villa is still yours to enjoy with all the support items you will require and your Star Service representative will still be at your service to facilitate your stay in any way you choose!

It's been a little over a month since I returned from my amazing trip with my friends to Costa Rica. Besides the country being absolutely breathtaking, our trip was made extra special by the amazing accomodations of our villa!
I could try and put all the 'positive' adjectives into this review and yet it still would not do it justice! Perfect is the only word I can find to sum up the rooms, the experience, and the view!!! -

It can't get much better than this! Staying in paradise at a beautiful home w/ unimaginable views and a staff that takes pride in making whatever you want to do a reality! The home was spacious and every bedroom felt like a master suite! The common area of the house works perfectly for a group to put together meals and flows seemlessly to the patio and infinity pool. Groceries, restaurants, and beaches aren't far away. Overall amazing and I can't wait to go back!

I recently organized a trip for my husband's birthday and our 5 year wedding anniversary. It was a surprise trip for him and I invited 10 of our closet friends to join! Robyn is the us contact for Costa Rica Star Villas and she spent so much time helping me find the right accomodations as well as recommend the best activities while we went to Costa Rica. We didn't have to lift a finger once we got there - only to get ourselves dressed! We paid to have a driver for the week for all of us so we could be responsible guests to Costa Rica and he was awesome - his name is Blair. And adriana was our contact once we landed foot in Costa Rica and she ensured that all the planning came to fruition for our group! Diego and Soledad also oversaw our group...the service was just incredible. Robyn helped us get a local band, chefs, and made sure all the right people helped us navigate through the most wonderful vacation. I do not have a wide enough vocabulary to tell you how delightful this adventure was for my group! I am so grateful to have found this service and the house was impeccable! We had daily maid service as well as the best view of the prettiest sunset I've ever seen every single day!

it starts with planning and attention to details - the team at costa rica star villas were excellent. they helped and suggested all the activites, transportation choices, restaurants, beach locations - 100% of what they set up was great - 4 teenage kids 16/17 and 4 adults and all of the details were covered. Robyn in the us drove all the communications and the team on the ground in Costa Rica was superb. from the drivers to the housekeeping to the hostess. i have not even begun to describe the house - 100% great.

We had two families with children. Everyone had their own space and yet we had lots of togetherness!! Staff was wonderful. Costa Rica is such a wonderful vacation destination. We Will Be Back!!!

Before I talk about the Villa, I must mention its manager, Costa Rica Star Villas...they were, in a word, outstanding. Caring, competent,
pleasant and responsive. Gave all 14 of us a sense of security knowing that our needs would be met.
The Villa (and related casita) is lovely...situated in a private development with a beautiful view of Coco Beach. Pool and landscaping
are great. We were 3 families, 14 people total, and were very
comfortable. Plenty of room to spread out, more than enough bathrooms, more than enough high-end appliances - wine coolers, ice makers, refrigerators! The pool area is great, there is an outdoor kitchen (and swim up bar) with a kick-ass Viking grill, the housekeeping was impeccable, amazing closet space to help you stay organized, great washer-dryer (this is important for families) and the amenities available from the manager were all wonderful..every detail attended to.
If I were to change anything or make any recommendations, I would
Recommend lower vanities (for us short people); the vessel sinks are lovely but not as practical in my opinion. I would put a mirror in front of the sink in the bathroom; the sink faced a fabulous view but shaving was a challenge with the mirror behind the sink! I would have also have loved more towel racks/hooks.
All that being said, I would not let these things (I tend to be hyper
picky, but also want to be accurate in these reviews) stand in your
way of renting this property, not for a moment. We had an absolute
blast and loved our stay.
