We enjoyed three nights at the Maple Beach House at the end of July. The home is cozy and comfortable and the pretty decor reflects both the heritage of the building and the beach location. The deck out back is amazing and the views from the sunroom are stunning. The kitchen is well equipped and there were even toys and a beach wagon for families to use.
We were traveling with several children and they found the whole experience completely magical. Sleeping in the sun porch, splashing in the tide pools and evening strolls through the neighbourhood were highlights of our stay.
We found everything we needed at the grocery store and enjoyed some yummy treats from Brewster's. Carol and Steven were gracious hosts who were very generous with information about things to do and places to go. Truly a wonderful getaway.

Carol and Steve provided the perfect family respite after the hectic and wonderful Christmas celebration season. We ventured up to Point Roberts simply for a family escape and we experienced that and more with the spacious and clean accommodations at the Maple Beach House, including a wonderful sunroom with a telescope which we all adored. We cooked our meals in the kitchen and drank delicious coffee all day long provided by incredibly hospitable hosts. We can only imagine how wonderful it would be to stay here during the summer as apparently the water temperature nears 80. The other reviews describe this property and experience perfectly as well. Truly, this is a gem that we would highly recommend for families, a girlfriends weekend, or simply a romantic getaway with your spouse.

This was our second summer trip to Maple Beach House and we loved it just as much as we did the first year. It's the perfect family vacation for our family of six - we spent our week riding bikes on the quiet streets, swimming, exploring the beach when the tide was out, or relaxing in the Beach House. The house has everything we need and our hosts were lovely. The accommodations are very roomy, comfortable and charming and the setting is idyllic. We'll definitely be coming back for a third year - coming to Maple Beach House is the highlight of our summer.

Wonderful beachfront location, beautiful rambling space with lots of balconies and ocean views to enjoy and all the extras we could have wanted. Our single only complaint was that we were never informed that two of the bedrooms are joined, and you must walk through one to get to the bathroom and rest of the house. Tiptoeing through another couple's room (with old, creaky floors to boot) to use the bathroom or leave our room was not a lot of fun. Fortunately, the couple were good sports about it, but it was somewhat of an unhappy surprise which could have been avoided if we'd only been told ahead of time.

I am always very careful about describing our rental accurately. I quote an email I sent to this guest on May 17, 2011, prior to accepting the booking as I felt it might not be suitable for them.
"The entire apartment includes a en suite King bedroom and a en suite Queen bedroom with two additional queen beds on the enclosed porch accessed through the queen bedroom. Take a look at the photos on our website, it shows the beds and might help you decide. We usually say maximum six , if there were four couples two of the couples would be sharing the porch which might be a bit cozy" The guest response was "Thanks so much Carol, If we agree to go for it I will let you know."

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at the old restored Whelan store. Gracious, helpful owners. Clean, spacious, well appointed/equipped suite. Fabulous location with magnificent views of Boundary Bay and BC/Wash coastal mountains.

This place was cute, seaside retreat, with enough sand for kids to play on, my daughter had a blast running through the tidal pools. On cooler days, the back deck was very relaxing and wind sheltered but still really warm with sights and sounds of the ocean to calm. Lots of room, hopefully we will return with other family, I was 8 months pregnant and the beds are comfortable! Nice front porch with city lights, ocean sounds and views. Great for family stay!

The house is full of old charm but modernized and very comfortable. The view of the ocean from the breakfast room is outstanding. We bar Bq'd on the deck every night and went for long walks around the point. Wading in the ocean was great for kids, its shallow, warm and lots of shells and sand. The hosts are friendly and very accomodating. We book every year!
