Poipu Shores Resort in located on the lee side of Kauai. We have the coolling trade winds from the back of the property through the resort and out to the ocean. This also creates the weather conditons that give us the "Sunny South Side". Our location is almost exactly the same as Waikiki is on Oahu. Being direct oceanfront, gives you daily viewing opportunities of our families of green sea turtles. November to April give you whale sightings from your lanai.

The Condo was comfortable and well stocked. We stayed a week first in the two bed condo with another couple and moved to the one bed for our second week. The two bed had a great sticked kitchen which made meal prep easy. We found the one bed condo's bed a bit firm for our taste but it was fine. Bbq's are great to use. Pool is small but relaxing and has spectacular views. This is a terrific location we watching whales and dolphns and turtles from our decks every day. Close enough to walk to the beach but far enough that it is not noisey- except for the crashing waves- which are soothing and right outside your door! It really is very beautiful. The hosts are accomodating and great to work with. We'd stay in either condo again.

What can I say other than likely one of the most unique accomodations on the island. Literally sleeping and waking at the water's edge you are treated to magnificant day's and nights from the
private lanai. Enjoy an evening drink
as you watch the sunset from the deck. Pool
location is great, you feel like your floating on top of the ocean. Poipu area
has consistently the best weather on the island and this is a great location to take
it all in. Highly reccomended and hope to return soon for another stay in unit 101B.

The recently renovated 101B at Poipu Shores couldn't have been better. The air conditioning was a wonderful plus but the best part was the fabulous, huge lanai jutting out over the rocks where we could watch the sea turtles and spot the whales. The Biehns have added all the extras - from beach gear to books and the kitchen had everything we could possibly need. We will definitely be back!

great location in poipu-whale watch from the semi-private lanai, walk to the public beach, decent food a long walk/short drive away. Inside the condo is comfortable and clean, though not brand-new and definitely a bit weather-beaten. Overall I'd say it was a great spot to sit and relax with a cocktail and binoculars in hand. Our stay at Poipu 101B could not have been better! The unit is beautiful, nicely appointed and located oceanfront with a huge deck over the waves. Owners Patricia and Tom were really great! We would love to return someday!

Poipu Shores 101B has an amazing location right over the crashing waves. You can stand on your private lanai to watch sea turtles swim below, lounge with a good book in privacy or watch beautiful sunrise and sunsets. The pool is just steps away and was never crowded. The unit was clean, nicely decorated and the bed comfortable. We used the BBQ gril at the top of the steps (very convenient). We felt it was a very special place and would love to return some day.

Great accomodations, this is our second stay at the complex first in this unit. Patricia and Tom plan for alot of extras that one does not expect, flippers, chairs, towels, umbrella, cooler and the like. I like the Poipu location the best in Kauai, great accessibility to all areas, beautiful sunsets

Pat and Tom were very helpful facilitating our stay; they replied promptly to emails and messages. This condo is ideal for a couple. The condo had everything we needed and Poipu is an excellent central location for exploring the island. We enjoyed the semi-private lanai with the beautiful view and the ocean roar. There is not much negative about this condo...parking was a little 'tight', but we always found a spot.

We loved our stay at Poipu Shores. The condo is perfedtly located on the beautiful south shore. Perfect sunsets on our private lanai with footsteps to the pool overlooking the ocean. Loved the sound of the waves crashing on the rock wall, the ocean view and family of sea turtles that entertained us daily. Cozy stay for two. Looking forward to a return trip.

I couldnt say enough about this beautiful condo! it was everything and more that was explained to us! They had everything that we needed in the room, from beach stuff that saved us money from renting, to all utensiles in the kitchen! We will be back!!!

This is at least the 4th time we have stayed in this particular condo. I prefer it to the larger and airier units above because it has such an amazing lanai (deck) cantalevering out over the crashing waves. Poipu Shores is a very serene place to stay, yet you can walk to great beaches and restaurants. The turtles are always right there and sometimes dolphins not far off. In winter there are whales passing by. Sunset views can be spendid and full moon nights enchanting. The pool is very pleasant too.

The Biehns were very accomodating. The condo/home was just what we wanted; ocean front, sea turtles, close to snorkeling, centrally located, but peacefully remote. The A/C unit was a blessing with the unseasonal warm spell. We're ready to return.

We believe that Poipu Shores 101B has the most beautiful Ocean Front in the World.
Every morning we would get up early and sit on the deck to watch the Green Turtles swimming below.
After breakfast we would take a short walk to the beach.
The sunsets from the deck are breath taking. The ocean has so many shades of blue.
How great it is to go swimming in the pool there with the ocean waves hitting the stone wall below and above the stone wall at times around the pool.
The owners furnish the place like they would if they were living there all the time. We had a washer and dryer and it was wonderful being able to come home with all clean clothes. We felt at home.
Brennecke's is a good place to eat, within walking distance. View of the ocean from there. Also a short drive is the Historical Old Koloa Town. The town has dining, snacks, art, gifts, etc. There is also a great place to get ice cream there
We took the Waimea Canyon tour, it is called the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, lots of colors in the Canyon, beautiful.
The Spouting Horn is a short drive away from where we stayed. Sunset is a good time to get photos of it.
We also saw Wailua Falls,(falls from Fantasy Island) Took the Wailua river cruise to Ferm Grotto, fun thing to do.
We also drove to Kilauea Lighthouse. There is a wildlife refuge there. Hundreds of sea birds, loved it.
We fell in love with Kauai. Want to go back some day and for sure we will be staying at Poipu Shores 101B. The owners are super nice
It is as close to being in Heaven as you can get, a bit of Heaven on earth.

We were thrilled with the location and the unit.Right on the ocean was an absolute plus!We were there for a seminar and stayed at the condo instead of the seminar hotel and our friends were thrilled to come and share the view. Their maintenance man was always available to help and give suggestions of where we should visit and what to see. We were there for 2 weeks and just loved it.
