If you want to be close to the ocean and Poipu Beach this is a great place to stay. Beware that these units are on 2 floors so if you can't do stairs this is not the place for you. Also, there is no air Conditioning and if the trade winds are not blowing it can be rather warm even with ceiling fans. This particular unit has an ocean view (with a street in front of it) and when there are big waves you can hear them crashing. Bedrooms and bathrooms are on the first floor and have sliding doors which you will not want to keep open at night or while you are not in the unit. The spacious upstairs has dining area, a nice and well equipped kitchen and a living space along with a nice deck area for morning coffee and evening relaxation. The unit needs new flooring (carpet has seen it's day) and the living area furniture is not all that comfortable for sitting. Bathrooms are very nice and look to have been updated. But if you are at the beach or out sightseeing every day you should not have any problems. This particular group of townhomes, Nihi Kai, has a great pool, tennis courts and BBQ area and is very close to several beaches...Very easy walking distance of 1-3 blocks. Our second stay here and would probably come again if the price would be right. Easy check-in and accommodating rental office.

My three college kids and I stayed here over the Christmas vacation. The location was ideal - we could see the ocean from the second floor. The condo was very nice, and had all of the comforts of a home, including wireless internet. The bathrooms look like they had just been redone and done well. We used the outdoor grills and met other nice families staying here as well, many who were return renters. The staff was also very helpful. We would rent here again.

This was our first stay at Nihi Kai Villas. The location was great. We enjoyed Breneke & Poipu beach...both walking distance away. We are seniors and our only complaint were the stairs! We would never choose to stay in this unit again due to the lack of a bathroom on the main floor and all the stairs, both leading up to the unit itself and down to the bedrooms, bathrooms, and laundry. This unit would be perfect for a young family. It's very spacious and we appreciated the updated bathrooms and cleanliness. Our only other complaint was the road noise since the unit/lanai faced out on to a very busy street.

To start, the place was very large. There were only 3 of us staying in the 2 bedroom unit, and the bedrooms and bathrooms were more than I expected. The common areas upstairs could accommodate a large group if you were hosting a gathering. The deck was also very large and with a great ocean view. It was a 5-10 min walk from 2 amazing beaches that had different areas... some great for small children, others for boogie boarding and others for snorkeling, and one had a lifeguard. With the beach so close, I never even stepped into the pool area, but we did use the public BBQ. I would stay here again.

Great location to access all that Poipu has to offer. Living room upstairs and all bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs which is inconvenient. Bbq's are dirty and sometimes you have to wait as there are not enough to use at the dinner hour. Small pool, but the great beach is a short walk. Most units need to be updated. However, not a bad place to stay for a quiet laid back experience. Would stay there again, but would check out other locations first.

Once again we had great accommodation at Suite Paradise. This was our best location yet(at Nihi Kai # 302) as it is so close to the beach. We were able to sit on our lanai and watch the whales. The premises were clean and comfortable and the property is immaculate The kitchen was updated and well equipped, the living area is spacious. The two bedrooms are on the ground level and both have garden views. The only drawback was that beds in this unit are due for replacement but are not too bad. Wireless internet would be an asset -it has been a long time since being tethered to the wall! We will definitely return

We have stayed in this condo two years in a row. This year will be our last, as it has become very rundown. Almost all the cushions had huge tears in them, and the carpet is definitely in need of replacing. It is a great location, so if some upgrades are down, it will be a great place to stay again. The way it is now, however, is not up to par.

We loved this unit. It had a great view of the ocean and beautiful sunsets. The waves could be heard crashing - a great sound to fall asleep to. It was the perfect amount of space for our family of 5. The kitchen was well supplied and grills are available.

The first condo we were assigned was not at all what we were led to believe, far from the ocean and certainly not a "super delux" in any way. The furnishings were old, and formica...we left and went back to the Suite Paradise office and made a switch to another condo at Nihi Kai, the view was very good with white water. However, again the furniture was old, tattered and not at all like the photos in the web page. Perhaps because of being so close to the ocean there are more lively people there, as the noise level the first three days was horrible, you could hear people in the condo making loud speech and not able to sleep. If we did not have a 13 month old with us, we would have asked to move again. Not a nice way to spend a vacation. I do think the price was high for the condo, we have stayed a few times at Poipu Shores and were delighted each time. We have also rented homess on the beach both on the North Shore and the South. I would not stay at this condo again. As a retired travel agent, we have traveled quite a lot, and I must say this experience was not up to par. Hope this review was helpful, as Kauai is a beautiful island and I know you rely on tourists for your economy. I had sent many, many clients to Kauai and all loved the island and the accomodations I had reserved for them. I think you need to provide a more accurate example of the type of furnishings and view than what we had expected or you will find many more clients not happy with what they are staying in.
The water and snorkeling were a delight. Read more
The condo this guest rewiewed was recently completely remodels with new baths/kitchen and is basically a brand new condo with new furniture. I am not sure how you could be unhappy in the condo she was in. Great location, view and in great shape.
Another nice trip to Kauai

Nice location for an easy walk to the beach. Was Ocean View but you should note it is directly in front of a 'curve' in a road with lots of rocks, since the road is used a lot (and some locals like to spin their tires here) you'll hear that sound from time to time. It did afford us the opportunity to 'see' whales jumping, so we ran down to the beach which is one minute away. A few dishes were broken; we actually bought a glass measuring cup because the one in the place was all chipped up, but hey, they place is used all the time. The grills a 'little' walk away but not too far. Restaurant across the street can't be missed.

The condominium was nice. The location is very good, a short walk to the beach and centrally located for activities on Kauai. The living space and furniture were a bit awkward--we would have liked some chairs and lights set up that were conducive to reading. The balcony was nice, with a good view and plenty of comfortable seating. The kitchen was well-equipped. The unit was clean and well-stocked. Check in and out was easy.
