In March my sister & I spent a week on the island of Kauai. On the weekend there we went to Whalers Cove & spent the weekend in condo
#211..it was the best part of our entire week! The condo is absolutely gorgeous with everything we could possibly need & then some! We so enjoyed every part of the entire complex, the incredible views, the beautiful landscaping & again, the incredible condo as well as meeting Marianne, the manager. She is such a sweetheart & went out of her way to assure we had everything we needed, including keying us in on the awesome whale watching! I truly hope that we are able to go back for another stay soon~words can not describe how wonderful our weekend at Whalers Cove was! Just pure relaxation without having to leave the complex for anything the entire weekend~so, so incredible! Thanks so much to Marianne for everything~I feel like I have gained a new friend! Everything was so perfect~we have been recommending your condos to everyone we talk to! I can't wait to return! Awesome, awesome, awesome and then some! -

Words can hardly describe my great experience at Whales Cove. This was an overwhelming positive experience that really made my vacation above and beyond.
First of all, Property Manager, Marianne Martin, really worked to accommodate me in my travel needs and desires. I was skeptical because the picture she sent regarding the room seemed professionally done and perfect; i figured there had to be a catch.
Needless to say, when I arrived at the property at 7pm, Condo #232, my keys and welcome package were waiting for me and when i walked in I was completely overwhelmed with how beautiful the condo was. Not only was it beautiful it was spotless! As I walked through the condo, I felt immediately at home.
The master bedroom was great; exceptionally comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. The Master bath is huge! Jacuzzi bath, stand up show with eight shower heads. Outside the master suite was the washer and dryer. It amazed me how Venus, Aida and Jocelyn (house keeping team) kept the condo spotless, clean and sand free. These three were always smiling, pleasant, and professional. You can tell they take great pride in their work.
The views from the pictures are not only accurate, but an understatement of the beauty that Whaler Cove has to offer.
I felt very secure with my personal items there; because Whalers Cove is tucked away, there is hardly any foot traffic or business. This place was perfect for me. The complex is exceptionally quite and recollected. The condo has direct access to a cove for snorkel or scuba dive. It is a 2min drive to one of the best beaches in the world. And absolutely beautiful!
I have never stayed at such a nice place on a vacation. I immediately felt at home, welcomed and comfortable. I had immediate access to everything I wanted to do; and when I just wanted to rest, the condo facilitated that perfectly. We stayed in Condominium 125 for 10 days over the 2012 Holiday season. Since it was our first trip to Hawaii/Kauai, we spent a considerable amount of time exploring the island. We would have been perfectly happy just relaxing each day in the Condo, it was exceptional! Very large, open, and airy with a great master suite with king bed, large jacuzzi tub and double shower. The bath area was so large that it included a great vanity area that was just perfect for the professional hair and make-up artist who assisted my wife in preparing for our 25th anniversary vow renewal ceremony. The second bedroom had two twins and a private bath. There was also a convenient half-bath and laundry room. The kitchen, dining, and living areas were wonderful - beautifully decorated and very large with great views out of the wall to wall/ceiling to ceiling windows with double sliders. Granite, ceramic, and hardwood are utilized throughout the entire unit. We have to admit, the lanai was so nice that we really didn't spend a lot of time inside! The views cannot be beat. We had perfect horizon to horizon views of the sunrise and sunset, and the 24/7 ocean views were just fabulous. As for Whaler's Cove in general, it was more than we could have hoped for. If you want crowded and noisy pools, loud and expensive bars and restaurants, long walks from your room to get anywhere, etc., stay at one of the resorts. If you want peace and quiet, first class condos, meticulously upkept and beautiful grounds, a great private and uncrowded pool and hot tub, unmatched views, snorkeling with turtles in the cove in front of your unit, and a full kitchen to use at your leisure, its Whaler's Cove! Also, a special Mahalo to Marianne the onsite property manager. She is extremely kind and attentive and just embodies the "Spirit of aloha". The rest of the staff was the same. Stay here, you will not be disappointed!

We are reluctantly just back from a thee week stay at Whaler's Cove. This was a wonderful place to stay and we enjoyed every day. It is an ideal location and within walking distance to several good restaurants while at the same time very private and calm. The views from the condo are spectacular. From the balcony we watched whales blow and turtles swim below us. We awoke each morning to a wonderful sunrise filtering into our bedroom and often took an evening cap and watched the sunset from the strategically placed benches on the lawn. On the days we did not feel like travelling, we lazed around the well maintained pool and hot tub. A slight negative in that our unit, 223, could use some money spent on upgrades. The fixtures, bed spreads, and bedroom carpets all need replacing if the owner insists on charging the present rates. All in all a wonderful vacation

We loved staying in Whalers Cove. The moment we entered the condo we felt like being at home. Staying in Whalers Cove was extremely nice also because of Mrs. Marianne, the manager of the place, because of her kindness, hospitality and willingness to help.
When we come to Kauai next time we will stay in Whalers Cove for sure. I hope the same condo will be available.

Our stay in condo 233 was fabulous. From the moment we booked with Marianne she made us feel so welcome!She did everything she could to make us feel comfortable in our new home--even offering to buy us groceries because of our late arrival. The condo has been spectacularly renovated with koa wood throughout, new appliances, granite. The condo was stocked with every item you could want from a well appointed kitchen, to spices, a library, binoculars, beach umbrella and chairs etc. Enjoyed the daily towel service, free Wifi and parking too. Both bedrooms were on the top floor with the king in front and the queen in back, both with attached baths. It was delightful to wake up to the sounds and view of the ocean each day. The view is spectacular of the ocean and cove from the bedrooms and large lanai. There was no air conditioning, but you could get a good cross breeze going with the front door and lanai doors open (glass doors which covered the whole wall).It is in the building behind so we couldn't see the sun set directly, but there is a lovely grassy area by the beach that gave great viewing. Afterwards we'd get to see the turtles in the cove that were active around dusk. The grounds are beautiful with a well cared for orchid garden. All the staff and guests were very friendly. Great location in Poipu close to many resturants and shopping, especially if walking. Would highly recommend a stay at Whaler's Cove in Condo 233. We will definately come back

Whalers Cove and unit 135 are one of the best vacations we have had in the islands. The unit is beautifully decorated and feels just like our home. The grounds are staff are magnificent as well. The view from the lanai righ on the ocean is spectacular including marine life, sunrise, and sunset. This was our first time to Kauai and we will be returning to Whalers Cove and unit 135 next year.

Beautiful newly remodeled condo in a fantastic resort. The resort is super quiet so overlooking the pool means more view, not more noise. The bedroom and master bath face the ocean--its so fun to shower with a window and watch the waves. (There are blinds if you're worried people can see you.)
The palm trees don't really block your view--they provide a welcome amount of shade. I imagine a unit here or elsewhere in Poipu directly on the ocean would get very hot by afternoon, but here a bit of shade is very welcome if you want to eat lunch or dinner on the lanai.
The resort and condo are both very well maintained. The ocean side is beautifully maintained and even the side facing the parking lot is blessed with a fantastic orchid garden--I would return in a heartbeat. -

We spent four glorious nights at Whalers Cove. Given the price we assumed it would be nice, but it exceeded our expectations. The unit we stayed in, #135, had an incredible ocean view and was impeccably decorated: beautiful but not over the top and completely comfortable. Although situated in Poipu, Whalers Cove is away from all the resorts so is quiet. At the same time it is conveniently located minutes from a well appointed shopping center with snorkeling and walking out your door. We will be back!

We love love love this place. This is our third visit to Whalers Cove, second visit to Unit #110. Its location on the island is unparalled and the unit is roomy and comfortable. We travel with carry-on luggage only so having a full-sized washer and dryer is a blessing. We enjoyed starting our mornings leisurely with coffee on the lanai. The private oceanside garden that comes with this unit is especially lovely, encourages relaxation and promotes rejuvenation. :)
The pool is fantastic and we also thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the hot tub in the evenings.
This is within easy walking distance of the Kukui'ula Shopping area, which has wonderful restaurants (Highly recommend Tortilla Republic and Lapperts), Baby's Beach and a beautiful neighborhood.
We always book directly with Marianne on site and are grateful for the personal connection and aloha spirit she represents.
There may not be enough superlatives to describe our affection and appreciation for Whalers Cove.

The location is spectacular. If you want to "get away" with solitude and beauty, this is the place for you. A few steps away and you can swim with the turtles or set on the lanai or the "park like setting" at the condo for a glass of wine during sunset.
We had such a peaceful and wonderful stay a couple of years ago. I saw pictures of the remodel and heard of the new restaurants, in walking distance, and anxious to go back.
The owners really care about their guests comfort and want to share their own "piece of paradise" with others !

The apartment was full of confort,nice and elegant the furnitures. We had our breakfast just in front of the ocean, before starting the day full of excursions in the island.Marianne the owner is very friendly and professional at the same time. For European people who are looking for the real Hawaii, not crowdy, with the powerful nature, this is definitely the place to stay.

We stayed at Whalers Cove Resort for a week, early august 2012. From the moment we walked in to the beautiful apartment and looked out over the grass and rocks to the sea, we felt as if we were really on holiday. It is peaceful, quiet and surrounded by houses, rather than resort tower blocks. Most of the time we had the pool to ourselves and we never heard any noise from other units. The units face the sea and I think face southwest, so apart from a couple of hours in the middle of the day, it's not too hot to lie out in the pleasant breeze. It's possible to swim in the sea off the rocks in the cove, but easier to walk for a few minutes to baby beach or slightly further to a lovely beach and snorkelling area by the Beach House restaurant. There are shops including a whole foods store and restaurants up the road (5-minute walk) and if you organise it in advance, Marianne, the manager, will stock your condominium with some food for when you arrive. It's about a $50 taxi ride from Lihue airport. A great holiday for people who want to relax, swim and enjoy the peace, and a great base for exploring Kauai. We intended to rent a car and drive around a bit, but had such a nice time at Whalers Cove we didn't bother going anywhere else. I am sure we will be back, and as the condo had 2 good bedrooms, we'd also consider going back with another couple.

We stayed between July 12 to July 21 at Condo 117 in the Whalers Cove. This was our second trip after 3 years to the same condo and resort.
The condo itself is superbly located (ocean front offering great views and no sun glare) and very well appointed. The Koa wood trims and furnishing were lovely and the owner has taken great care to stock the condo with all the necessities at a very high quality. They obviously care about their guests- please take care of their place if you visit.
I have traveled to Hawaii over 10 times these past 10 years and stayed in different condos at different islands. I can easily say this is the best in terms of location, ambiance, management and service. The general manager Ms. Martin is a very nice lady who really takes care of her guests and goes out of her way to help them. The staff in the office are very friendly and helpful. They provide daily maid service which is comparable to any top resort.They provide fresh towels, pool towels, snorkel gear, wifi etc- one can really expect no more.They also have a very nice pool and we had the pleasure of interacting with some long term residents- who were very friendly and welcoming . Finally, this condo is just a short drive from to Poipu beach, the beach house beach, shopping malls, Koala town - so this takes care of many things,
All in all, this is an a+ resort. If you get a chance to stay here and in Condo 117. It will be a memorable experience.

My husband and I have been coming to Kauai the past 34yrs. This has been our best stay ever due to the Whalers Cove. The room was so beautiful it added so much to our trip. The staff couldn't do enough for us and room was always kept up to perfection. Perfect location. We couldn't have asked for anything better. The best was sitting out on the deck looking at the ocean at night under the stars. There are truly no words to decribe the feeling. Like heavern on earth. I told my sister about it and she booked a stay at the Walers Cove in a few weeks. It's truly the best! We are looing forward the coming back next year and staying at the beautiful Whalers Cove.

We had the opportunity to stay in #138 which is the most spectacular unit at Whalers Cove. Right on the ocean, this end unit has a wrap-around lanai with a 300 degree view of mountains (including Waialeale) and the sea; also sunrises and sunsets. We spent hours just watching the sealife. While the ocean is the star, the condo, which was recently remodeled, is gorgeous, well appointed and pristine. #138 has to be one of the most romantic places on the plantet and we can hardly wait to return - during whale season.

We had a week in a unit overlooking the pool and the ocean. Exceptionally well appointed unit. Gardens are a credit to the ground staff. Could see sea turtles from our balcony in the right conditions.

Wow! I don't even know where to start. We absolutely loved Whaler's Cove in Poipu, Kauai!!! The place was awesome...the setting, the staff, everything...it was truly a memorable vacation! We stayed in 125 and it was beautiful...very comfortable...definitely a home away from home. There was nothing better than relaxing on the "lanai" listening to the sound of the ocean. The staff at Whaler's Cove was the best...very friendly and welcoming. They were very willing to help and share information on where to go and what to see on their beautiful island home.
I would notice hesitate to stay at Whaler's Cove again! In fact, I definitely plan on it and can't wait until my next visit! -

I loved my stay at Whalers Cove Resorts! The property was so beautiful! I stayed in condo 136 and i was very impressed.Our balcony and bedroom window opened up to the ocean making my early morning coffee that much more enjoyable.It was fully furnished, it had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, and if there was anything special we may have wanted the staff was more then happy to get it for us. The daily staff was so welcoming and warm, everyone we encountered had a smile on there face. Check in was also a breeze, we arrived so late i thought getting into our room was going to be a hassle but the front desk was ready and waiting for us. The location was also amazing, there were about 3 beaches i could walk to right from the condo, and plenty of yummy food and shopping in walking distance too. I can not wait to come back!

Had a wonderful week stay in #230 at Whalers Cove, Poipu, Kauai. The purpose with my trip was to be both close to and in the beautiful water that surround Kauai. Aileen at the front desk gave me good tips on snorkling sites and hooked me up with Seasport divers so I could dive. The sea life is wonderful. Just swimming with turtles in the cove next to the property made this trip worth everything. After scuba diving I saw white tip reef sharks, spinner and bottle nose dolphins. Frogfishes and scorpionfishes is another favourite. After the dives it was great relaxing in the heated jacuzzi and listen to the waves. The condo was top quality and having breakfast at the lanai overlooking the cove is another wonderful memory. Everyday I got back "home" the condo was clean and I felt spoiled and well taken care of. I´ll be back and I can highly recommend Whalers Cove and Kauai. Mahalo.

I must give this condo absolute 5 stars and plus! First of all, the view from the room was stunning. We were there in January, We woke up and fell asleep with sound of ocean, and we sat in lanai or ocean front pool watching whales breaching during a day.
Our room was perfectly decorated by home owner, vintage hawaiian arts, separate guest room and bathroom, great (Tempur-Pedic) bed, Full kitchen with everything you need to cook.
So great thing about this place besides all that, this condominium offers daily service to straighten up the room, every 3rd days, changes linens and towels. They offer to buy and refrigerate grocery ahead of time, so when you check in, you already have everything you need! It's great service!
It's a smaller boutique condo, if you are looking for quiet, cozy but high end, i definitely recommend Whalers cove. We will definitely come back. Thank you to Marianne Martin (the manager) to give us such a nice service and aloha.

Had a great stay at Whaler's Cove. We are returning guests and the place never fails. Amazing accommodations..the service was stellar and unpretencious. Happy hour on the lanai daily. Walking distance to Kukui`ula shopping and dining. Did I mention the 'free' show of whales breaching in front of the condo?..Calgon take me away!
