The plantation style architecture at this... small island oasis by the sea is surrounded by swaying palms, tropical flowers, fruit trees, orchids, and mature plumeria trees accented by well manicured lawns. Originally built in 1979 and immaculately maintained, each of the 70 private condominiums are individually owned and decorated, with many recently upgraded to offer modern conveniences and styling without compromising the original architecture and feel. Nihi Kai also offers its guests a spectacular oceanfront heated pool, tennis courts, a paddleball court, and two conveniently located BBQ areas.   We love staying at Nihi Kai Villas. This was our fourth stay there. You can't beat the location, as it is situated perfectly for exploring all of the different locations of the island. The room itself is the perfect size with the kitchen and appliances, cookware, cooler, beach chairs, etc.

  This was our fourth visit (over 10 years); we stayed for 16 nights. The unit is looking its age, especially the bathroom - new fittings/curtain etc. but the fixtures were still the same - very poor shower facility which is what most people use these days. Kitchen: cups/glasses//cutlery mismatched and cookware stained/burnt etc. very poor. I did complain about the burnt fry-pan that was unusable. Grounds are far too manicured - fond memories of how it was on our first visit, especially the bougainvillea around the lanai. Altogether, poor value for the amount of money we spent at what was low season. Probably will not be returning.

  My wife and I along with our 10 year old thouroghly enjoyed our 2 weeks in unit 807. The condo was great and the manicured grounds were a pleasure to see everyday. With close proximity to great beaches we never had a dull moment.

  The condo was immaculate and had a nice view of the ocean. The grounds are maintained perfectly, with lots of gardens and paths to walk through. I loved having evening cocktails on the lanai and the location was perfect for us first-time visitors to Kaua'i. It was easy to check-in, and everything we needed for our stay was there.
  
  The only issue was that it did get very hot in the late afternoon, but that is what the pool is for!

  This condo, though just a "garden view", has a little peek of the ocean from the lanai. The furnishings and decorations are pleasing, and the kitchen is well equipped (though I didn't find the microwave in the pantry for a couple of days), with plenty of tableware and cookware.
  
  Nihi Kai Villas are conveniently located near Poipu Beach park, and nearby restaurants and stores. This particular unit is one of the better ones in Building 5.

  Home needs a LOT of work-we would not stay there again.

  I did leave a review at the office but here are the points we were most
  concerned about:
  - we had to clean the sink drains and tub drain, lots of matted debris
  - the bathroom is filled with cracks, moldy trim,tile and hardware, scurvy tub
  door
  - porch furniture was uncomfortable
  _ beach chairs were AWFUL! Couldn't get up out them, so low and unstable
  -many screens fell out over the week
  - the front door lock sticks, had to get someone to help us open it one night
  - carpeting in the front room needs to be replaced.
  Overall, we love the location and had had such a wonderful stay in 2008. We
  are returning to Kauai next January but are worried about going back to Nihi
  Kai. Thank you.

  The back windows need shades. From about 3 to 6 it is too hot to be in the unit. Parrish employees were very helpful and attentive. The condo had everything we needed and it was clean. It did have some cosmetic things that needed to be redone, like paint, bathroom sink etc. Location was great, close to everything, very nice view and very nice pool.

  Paradise at the Nihi Kai Villas at Poipu

  I was there from July 25 to August 4th in unit 807 of the Nihi Kai Villas and the stay there made it memorable for our 25th anniversary. The view from our lanai for those sunsets were spectacular. I call it partial ocean view, but good enough to dream. The accomodations themselves were great. Just the toilet a little outdated but no big deal. i'd go back tomorrow and any other time. This one bedroom was perfect and can't ask for more. This was truly paradise for the both of us. Poipu is where you want to be and this location is the best on the island of kauii. Thank-you to the team at The Parrish Collection for providing the best of environments for this special occassions. Thank-you pat for organizing our lauau at the Sheraton. Thinking of coming back.

  WE ENJOYED OUR STAY VERY MUCH. THE LOCATION WAS GREAT. WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE TO SO MUCH. WE WATCHED THE SEALS AND TURTLES PLAYING IN THE WATER AT THE END OF THE DRIVEWAY EACH DAY. WE STOCKED UP ON GROC AND DRINKS ON DAY 1, THEN DID SOME EXTREME RESTING AND RELAXING.

  Spending five nights at this accommodation was a very nice experience. The rooms were open, spacious, and nicely detailed and appointed. We particularly enjoyed the oversized lanai and chose to have dinner there every night and watch the sun through the palm trees as it set into the Pacific. We kept asking ourselves: "does it get any better than this?" We'll be back. Thanks for the great memories.

  It was just great. Good price for the quality, and very close to the beach. I was worried about taking "island casual" interior, but it was fine. Definitely glad I didn't pay more for a better interior. Pool was just ok, but I guess that's because you're supposed to go to the beach. They had tennis rackets, snorkel gear and other beach accessories which was nice.
