One of the best locations in sunny Poipu Beach Kauai, Nihi Kai Villas Resort is just steps away from the Poipu shoreline... and a little over 300 yards to world-famous body surfing Brennecke's Beach and Poipu Beach Park. The plantation style architecture at this small island oasis by the sea is surrounded by swaying palms, tropical flowers, fruit trees, orchids, and mature plumeria trees accented by well manicured lawns. Originally built in 1979 and immaculately maintained, each of the 70 private condominiums are individually owned and decorated, with many recently upgraded to offer modern conveniences and styling without compromising the original architecture and feel. Nihi Kai also offers its guests a spectacular oceanfront heated pool, tennis courts, a paddleball court, and two conveniently located BBQ areas. The Parrish Collection Kauai manages the majority of the available units as well as the front desk so you do not have to go far to schedule your perfect vacation activities.   This place was great for our family of 4, (the kids are 10 and 6). We had plenty of room and the beds were really comfy. The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking supplies. From our lanai we had a beautiful ocean view where we even saw whales spouting in the distance. The kids breakfasted every morning on the second lanai off their bedroom. We all had dinner each night on the front lanai or at the inside dining table. There is ample room here for 2 couples to share the place.
  Easy walk to the Poipu beaches, playground, and rocks, to see turtles and monk seals, and Brenecke's for morning coffee. You can get anywhere from here by car. The staff is friendly. They answer questions and book excursions, but otherwise leave you alone.
  The communal grills by the tennis courts are clean and grilling is a fun way to meet others. The smallish pool is lovely. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained and safe for kids to roam around.
  Kauai is incredible, and Nihi Kai was a terrific choice for us! Ocean view is only available from some units, and it might not be as nice here without it.

  We had rented from The Parrish Collection last year in another condo and were very pleased with the location and the condo itself. The location of and view from this home was wonderful, but the house itself felt dark and a little tired. The bathroom fixtures and kitchen are in need of updating. While certainly a well maintained residence, clean and functional, we were hoping for something more contemporary, and actually opted to stay elsewhere in another residence of the Parrish Collection.

  View from the ocean-view lanai was magnificent. Plenty of room for entertaining within the unit. The internet access was helpful and useful. One of the Parrish staff members was especially helpful in answering questions on our activity touring the island.
  
  During the late afternoon and early evening, the interior of the unit was quite warm. Needed more fans in the non-bedroom areas.
  Better signage is needed to identify each unit in order for guests to easily find the condo.
  
  The description of the number of baths is incorrect. We enjoyed two bedrooms and two baths.

  Hardly a day goes by that we don't say to each other that we need to go back to Kauai, and this condo was one of the main reasons that the vacation was so good.
  The third-floor view of the ocean (and the whales nearly every day in the distance)and the palm trees was fantastic and peaceful.
  The condo was roomy and comfortable as well.
  Can't wait to return.

  Fantastic views, and the morning coffee on the balcony was one of the best part of the day. Well furnished and well maintained condo; very quiet. Good home base for the rest of the island. The front office can help with booking anything with no mark up. Took care of a luau for us, and eating recommendations (Beach House!). We had booked a Napalli catamaran trip ourselves, which is worth doing. Snorkeled at every beach but "Tunnels" was the best; do Waimea Canyon! We had two older teens a long and it was all good. Shop Costco for stocking up.
  This is a good vacation for first timers to experience Hawaii. Next stop, Big Island!

  Incredible view south side of the island

  Nihi Kai condo complex is situated in an ideal location on Poipu Beach Kauai. The view from our 3rd floor unit was exceptional...nearly the entire south coast of the island. The distance to the beach is about a block away. Sunsets were spectacular and sleeping hours comfortable with breezes from the nearby ocean. We have been visiting Kauai yearly since 1980 and have rented in many locations. Nihi Kai provides the most comfortable condos we have experienced. Easy sleeping without air conditioning! The grounds are beautiful and well-kept and the staff is very friendly. Today we sent in our deposit for our 2009 vacation. This place can't be beat for the price and location.
