Aloha. This was our 4th stay at Wc222 and we would say it was the best yet. This unit is well looked after and the recent upgrades were a nice touch. Very spacious 2 bedroom condo with a great location in a quiet residentail neighbourhood and unobstructed ocean views. From the lani we were able to see whales and turtles virtually every day as well as dolphins on a few days. The condo property is very clean and well maintained. We have now booked our vacation rental 6 straight years with Great Vacation Retreats and have been pleased with the service provided by amy Grant each year. We are hoping to be able to return again next year. Maholo

Very comfortable condo and the pool and view are as good as the photos. Peaceful location, no street noise. Kitchen well stocked with basic utensils and dishes. Staff was helpful and kept property very clean. Back bedroom was a little bit stuffy until we figured out the lower windows open and where the fans were.

This was our second time here and it was just as wonderful as the first visit! The location right on the cove is just perfect. Watching the divers in the morning and the turtles in the evening was a great experience. The unit itself is a bit older, but well maintained. There was a new shower in the master bedroom since the last time we stayed there. The amenities at the complex were nice, pool, hot tub and some Bbq's for everyone to use. We really enjoyed falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of the waves and missed it when we got home. Would definitely stay there every time we go to Kauai.

We have stayed at Whalers Cove for five years in a row. We have vacationed on Kauai (Poipu) for the last 25 years and could not be more please with the accomodations at Whalers Cove or the service provided by Great Vacation Retreats. The unit is updated and provides all the comforts of home. The views from the lanai are endless and the ocean front pool and spa ensure countless hours of peaceful relaxation, Hawaii style!
The location is perfect; within walking distance to the beach and many fine restaurants and shopping centers, yet secluded and protected from any sounds other than the birds chirping and the waves crashing. Amy and her staff at Great Vacation Retreats go out of their way to ensure a stress/hassle free vacation experience. I would highly reccommend Whalers Cove and Great Vacation Retreats for your next visit to Kauai. -

We were absolutely thrilled with this rental. Everything about it was more than satisfactory, & we were truly in the lap of luxury. Took up the rental car option (it's a van) & Lou picked us up and dropped us at the airport. The unit itself is in the best possible location, no beach but wonderful views of both the ocean and of sea turtles sunning themselves on the rocks. A good beach for both swimming & snorkelling is just down the road. The owners live in the complex & were available when a small plumbing issue needed to be resolved. We loved Whalers Cove and Kauai in general, and think Poipu is the ideal location to stay no matter which part of the island you want to see (although if you want to swim on the north shore you need to get up early. There are nice local markets & shops, so we mostly stayed out of the big box stores. It's a little pricier, but we expected that. If we come back to Kauai, we'll want to stay here again.

This was our 4th trip to Poipu, the first time with kids and staying at Whalers. Condo 222 was perfect for our family and Great Vacation Retreats was very accomodating and easy to work with. Gvr has great communication and made traveling easy! This condo had the best view, privacy and the island feel we wanted! It had everything we needed and more. We saw turtles right off the lanai and whales & dolphins with a zoom lense. The pool area was a great way to end our day. Whaler's is very private, quiet, and relaxing. We can only hope to visit again someday soon!

This was our 3rd stay at this resort. Our first in this condo, 222, and first time rented through Great Vacation Retreats. Gvr were such a pleasure to work with, Amy made everything easy.
The condo had everything my home did, we wanted for nothing! The Whaler's Cove units are much larger than most on the island and the lanai is enormous! The view is too amazing, I can't even tell you. It is why we stay here time after time. We have now been in bldg 1 (closer to ocean) and 2 (this condo) and have to say that the view from both are excellent.
The pool is beautiful and is never crowded, this is not a place you will find a lot of, if any kids. I never saw more than 4 or 5 people at the pool. This is a small complex, only about 37 or so units, not a big resort, just how we like it! We could easily walk to the new shopping center and to Kiahuna Beach. Can't wait to come back again! -

What can we say? Room 222 was outstanding. It had everything we were looking for in our stay in Kauai. The view was absolutely magnificent. The room had all the amenities and more. We love the Poipu Beach area and had stayed there 11 years before. We decided to come back and stay at Whaler's Cove again. We were not disappointed. We would highly recommend this room to anyone and plan to come back again in the future.

The location and view were excellent. The condo is very clean and is large. The baths need to be updated, especially the master tub. The kitchen stove and microwave also need to be updated. Otherwise, the condo was very nice.
Service from Great Vacation Retreats was fine.

Wonderful place to stay! This is a wonderful condo...spacious, quiet, clean,
with a huge lanai facing the ocean for whale, sea turtle and dolphin viewing.
Fantastic pool and lots of turtles in whaler's cove. The only suggestion for
improvement are that the interior could use some updating (particularly
kitchen stove and microwave), but since the price was much more reasonable
than the Whaler's Cove rack price these things were overlooked. We loved the
Malie products inside, which were an unexpected treat. I would stay there
again in a heartbeat! -

We stayed for 1 week at Whalers Cove with another couple and had a great time. The view was spectacular. Saw groups of dolphins go past a couple of times. Sea Turtles would come in every evening in the cove next door. Beautiful evenings dining on the balcony over looking the ocean.

Upon arriving at Whalers Cove, you will catch your breath at the view and life
instantly slows down. We had a fantastic vacation with our two boys ages 7
and 12. We had incredible adventures in Kauai, but I think what we all loved
the most was coming back to our very comfortable condo and reading while
looking out on the pacific ocean. We saw many turtles right from our balcony
and we enjoyed the pool and hot tub immensely. The service exceeded our
expectations. They made sure we had boogie boards and snorkeling gear and
even helped up print out our return tickets. I'd give the staff a five star plus
rating. If you are looking for a great place to explore and then relax, you can't
beat Whalers Cove. -

We stayed at Whaler's Cove 222 from 7/5/09 through 7/12/09. The condo is in a great location and had all the amenities we needed. It was just 2 of us, so the condo was a bit bigger than needed. Fantastic view of the cove and sea turtles every day.
The condo decor was a little outdated, but that didn't take away from our experience. We had enough shampoo, etc. to last us through the 7 nights. The beach house restaurant is really the only place within a 15 minute walk. One tip about the beach house, if the restaurant is full...show up early and the bar area is open seating. It offers the same view, service, but no reservation needed. The Luau at the Sheraton was entertaining (a bit of comedy thrown in), but non-traditional. The food was good, not great. Joes on the Green is a great place for breakfast.
Saw a bunch of the sights, but always ended up relaxing on the Lanai, watching the turtles swim and enjoying the view. We had a fantastic time and hope to be back some day!
