Hale Malanai was easily what we were seeking and more! Every morning of our 9 night stay we were delighted to watch whales from the lanai. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. This home is tastefully appointed,has spacious rooms, and a lanai with space galore. Most of our adventures and visits to local sights and shops were but minutes away. This setting is memorable!

This house was beautifully maintained and contained all the necessities for an extended stay. Excellent accomodation for the four people in our party. With the house being on a second level, the afternoon and evening breezes kept us very comfortable. The short walk (less than 100 feet) to the beach area was also very convenient. We were only minutes from a shopping area with several restaurants to choose from and only minutes from the popular Poipu beach area.

We stayed at Hale Malanai for four nights on our honeymoon. The nice, open kitchen allowed us to cook fresh fish every night and to eat on the wrap around porch that overlooks the ocean. The ocean access can't be beat; it's across the street and it's a kid friendly beach that is not too crowded. Great location that gave us access to the western, southern, and eastern parts of the island.

This was my first time to Kauai and didn't know what to expect. What a treat! Hale Malanai is a slice of paradise. I rented the house for a month. I spent most of my time on the lanai reading and listening to the crashing waves. The view from from the lanai is spectacular! They say during whale season (which I just missed) you can see whales from the house. The beach is an easy few feet away as its just across the street. The house has a lovely bamboo outdoor shower to rinse off the sand. I loved the kitchen. The owners stocked it full of things a cook would use...even a food processor and ice cream maker!
Hale Malanai is walking distance to many great restaurants and shops. A rental car is necessary for further exploration of the island.
The Punee, or Hawaiian daybed (queen size) is a dream as it has it's own ocean view and bathroom. Heaven on earth. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends!! -

I rented Hale Malanai for my parents visiting me and it was a perfect place for two people. The second bed is really a Murphy bed and the overall design of the place doesn't offer much privacy if there are two couples staying there, but otherwise we were very happy with the house. It has everything you need and more for cooking, great beach access, and very private feeling despite being so close to your neighbors. The management company was very quick to respond to a question we had. We would definitely rent this house or any other property they managed.

We had a fantastic stay at Hale Malanai - such a beautiful house and it had everything we needed for our stay.
The location is great - just across the road from the beach, and walking distance to the little shopping area. You can see the sea through the trees, but what you lack in beach front views you definitely make up for in space and comfort. This is a real gem of a place and we'd love to go back.
