Aloha! When we booked this property for our family vacation we were very excited about this trip! But, when we got to the house we were amazed at how huge this place was!!! The pictures do not do it justice! The house became a destination in itself. Our parents, on both sides, were content just to hang around the house and take walks to the beach, while the kids enjoyed extended hours playing in the surf or snorkeling. Everybody fell in love with this property and we hope to visit again in the future!

Portland, OregonJust as fabulous as last time
Left on 04/06/2011 for a stay in March 2011
This is our second stay at this fabulous house. The highlights would be the large lanai where the kids can hang out and I can lay in the sun, very spacious and well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms, well stocked kitchen, and the den downstairs is great for the kids to chill and watch a show. But by far the reason we come back to this house (and will again) is the location. The very short walk to the Hyatt where the kids can feed the Koi, see the parrot show, walk through the gardens, etc make this house not just great, but fabulous. It is the perfect place for our budget.
One note: We had the same problem as last time we stayed (2 years ago). The bed in the upstairs master squeaks horribly, I mean really bad. This was very disturbing for my in-laws and the only down point to the house. You really should get this fixed and let us know if you do. This will be a factor in our house choice next time. -

San Franciscoa house to make you say, "wow!"
Left on 10/25/2010 for a stay in September 2010
this house was huge & comfy! it really had 2 master bedrms w/ their own bathrms. the 3rd rm was a good size. the 4th rm was a little small & is meant for children, though i had an adult friend stay in there. the kitchen was well stocked w/ every appliance i needed, including a blender. there were aCs & fans in every rm. tvs in most rms. there was a killer balcony on the 2nd floor w/ a BBQ & a gas fire pit; i used both. there's plenty of rm to park multiple cars. there were also little things included w/ the house that made it wonderful: movies dvds the necessary tour guide books, paraphernalia for the beach, etc. go the house first & really look everywhere for things b/c most likely, if you need it, it's already there so don't going buying stuff too hastily, like: laundry soap, coffee, spices for cooking, etc.
the house is pricey so just make sure to fill it up w/ people. also, read & re-read all the rules b/c there a lot, like take out the garbage or you'll be fined.
overall, my friends & i really loved this house. while we were there, we experienced swells in the ocean & really the south side of the island was the only place you could find a beach where you could go into the water & that's where this house is. it's well located.
the only bad things: the garage door wasn't fixed when we arrived & we were notified that a repair-person was coming asap but it was still during our stay. also, there was a i-home clock that you could plug an i-phone in & it smoked the first time we put an i-phone in it. we just called the office asap & told them & there were no extra charges. -

Anchorage, AlaskaGreat Family Vacation Rental
Left on 04/29/2009 for a stay in March 2009
We spent a wonderful week at the Hale Imaka. The house is very comfortable and accommodated the eight of us (four adults and four children) beautifully. The two master suites were especially appreciated. The house's location allowed for pleasant morning walks to the beach.
We used the large deck with its child friendly railing quite often. We cooked out several times, and the children really enjoyed making their s'mores over the fire pit in the evenings.
The stair railing inside the home was a bit of a concern as we had a busy 16 month old with us.
All in all we had a great trip, great weather, and would definitely stay there again. -

Whitewater, WIChristmas '08
Left on 04/24/2009 for a stay in December 2008
We rented this house and stayed with our wife's extended family for 2 weeks over the Christmas of '08. This was a fabulous home to spend the holidays in. We had the place full with 10 of us, yet there was still plenty of room for all without ever feeling cramped. The elevated patio off of the main dining area was just awesome. There was more than enough room for all to be out there and enjoy the weather and was a great spot for watching the sunset. One word of caution; when on the deck and having any type of conversation, it does not take long for the fun police to be knocking on your door as the 10PM curfew is strictly enforced. It is a very short walk to be at Shipwreck Beach in front of the Hyatt. It is a beautiful hotel and has an expansive pool network with coy fish that is nice to walk around. They will tell you to leave if you try to use any of their pools. It is much longer walk to get to Brenneke Beach, but still quite easy. There is a paved pathway called the "Greenbelt" that cuts through the various condos and homes. This is a fun area as there are rougher waters to watch the boogie boarders, and if you have kids there is a protected cove to the other side as you walk toward the Sheraton. There is a place to get a light lunch across the street and Nukumoi surf company is there as well to rent whatever gear you would need for the water.
If you are looking for a place to spend with a group of people, this house makes for a great "command center". Plenty of room for all in a fantastic package. I will also say that this isn't your average house, but makes you feel like you are staying in a 4 or 5 star hotel. There is a marvelous spiral staircase that goes from the lower level to the upper level. Very nice furniture and bedding. I think there are 3 large, LCD TV; 1 in each living area, and 1 in master bedroom. The large sectional couch in lower rec area was great for large group of people just relaxing after a long day of fun. 5 STARS!! -

We had a 27 member family reunion, and a 60th birthday for twin sisters We rented 3 homes from the Parrish Collection--all were fabulous and more than we could have imagined. Hale Imaka, being the biggest was perfect for all of our gatherings, bbqs and fun times. A wonderful home for just our family of 9 as well when we wanted "down time"--It had all of the ammenities that any one would need. All of the beaches, shopping etc could not have been better and so well located! We had an unbelievable time, filled with lots of memories. We can't wait to go back. Aloha

A great place for 6-8 adults!
Left on 08/19/2008 for a stay in June 2008
This is truly a fabulous place to spend a week or more. There are two master suites, one up, one down, plus two good size bedrooms. The location is great, just a quick walk to the beach, very close to fabulous golf, some very nice (although pricey) restaurants, etc. We had seven adults there in our visit.
Issues we had were not major and definitely fixable. The cable tv was basically worthless. While we didn't come to Hawai'i to watch tv, it's nice to sit and veg once in awhile, watching the news or a game or something. Not possible for us, but hopefully, they will have this resolved for you! Upstairs master suite never got comfortably cool with the AC running full blast. It was always at least 78 degrees in this room, which is not very comfy to sleep in. Again, this can be resolved, and may have been by now.
The upstairs wrap-around patio is beyond description. It's over 1000 sq. feet, completely tiled, with several chairs, tables, even a gas-fired burn pit. A great place for morning coffee, evening star-gazing, etc.
Also, a nice surprise was to find ten beach towels for our use. We had not expected that.
Without question, if I were returning with a group, or a large family get-together, I would consider this house, as well as any property from Parrish, as things went exactly as they described, with no "extra" charges or surprises. They also promptly refunded the entire security deposit. -

Good location. Great for families
Left on 08/19/2008 for a stay in January 2008
We spent a week in January at Hale Imaka and it was fantastic. Spacious and clean, the house was perfect for six adults and two little ones (under 2). Plenty of living space to spend time together and also enough room to escape for some personal down time.
This house is walking distance to the beach and the nearby hotel. Good family dining options in Poipu are limited but the home's kitchen has everything needed to prepare your own gourmet meals.
We would definitely recommend this house for rent and would certainly stay here again. -

Relaxing home on Kauai
Left on 08/19/2008 for a stay in June 2008
Our family chose to stay at Hale Imaka for nearly 2 weeks in June 2008. The property was very clean and well appointed. Our family included 6 adults 2 children (ages 4 and 6) and one infant (12 months). The place was everything that was advertised by Parrish Collection and more. We had some problems with the air conditioning units which are programmed by the owner of the property and were difficult to adjust to suit our comfort. When contacted about this, Parrish Collection exceeded our expectations to try to find a resolution. The property is well maintained and the staff at Parrish is very attentive to the needs of the customers. We had a great time and I would recommend Hale Imaka to others if Kauai is your destination island.
