      Brilliant holiday!

Left on 12/11/2010 for a stay in September 2010

From the moment we arrived, we were met by the hosts and made to feel welcome. They almost make you feel like part of the family, they couldn't do enough for us. The accomodation was excellent, comfortable & clean, and the location was fantastic. So much space. Surrounded by miles of countryside, yet not to far away from towns & villages, for whatever provisions you need.
It's the nicest gite we've ever stayed in, & we'd certainly go back again.

an excellent place for a family get together

Left on 11/20/2010 for a stay in July 2010

The whole family had a very enjoyable week and we were made very welcome. Gail Todd is an excellent chef , the meal she prepared and served one evening was of a high standard. The teenagers particularly enjoyed having their own accommodation in the barn. The surrounding countyside is beautiful and adds to the pleasure of being there. Thoroughly recommended by all of my family

      Fabulous France

Left on 11/18/2010 for a stay in June 2010

Took a holiday here with extended family in june this year. It is often difficult to find a place large enough to accomodate big groups but this place is truly something special.
The approach to the farmhouse is impressive enough but the interior is even more so. As each person took their bags to their room they thought they had been allocated the best bedroom but it turned out they were all superb. The soft furnishings against the rustic furniture were luxurious and what a bonus to have so many bathrooms.
But the heart of the house was the kitchen where everyone could get together sharing in food preparation or just having a glass of wine(or two!) There was an endless supply of corockery, glasseses and cutlery something other places often overlook.
But if you want a break from cooking there is the luxury of the on site catering provided by Gail. Her meals were all superb and it was such a treat to be able to dine at home as a family group. No more arguments about whose turn it is to drive!!
This was a lovely relaxing break in a beautiful part of France made extra special by the efforts of the hostess with the mostest Gail! Looking forward to our next visit.

      The perfect Wedding location

Left on 11/10/2010 for a stay in June 2010

Our wedding was made possible in France by Gail helping with all the local laws and liasing with the local major for us. We would never have been able to negotiate all the red tape and there is a lot of that without Gail's help. Our wedding celebration was spread over 3 days with Gail preparing all the food for both the Friday drinks reception and the Sunday Paella pool party which for 110 people was no easy task. The apertife bites on the Friday were outstanding and just melted in your mouth. The actual day of the wedding we had outside caterers who were local and booked via Gail, they did a great job. To be honest we couldn't have done it without Gail especially as we had so many guests. The marquee looked out of this world with beautiful flowers and decoration. The grounds of the house were perfectly manicured and our drinks reception around the pool was a big success. The houses were all "dressed" to match the wedding colours and theme which we would never have thought of. The driveway and trees all had ribbons and when it went dark fairy light were everywhere making the place look magical. Our principal guest's stayed at the house and each having individual bathrooms really helped in the rush to get ready. On the wedding day Gail served a special pre wedding service brunch which was delicious and kept them all going. Everything down to the very last detail was thought of making the three days stress free for my husband and I. I can honestly say it was the best day of our lives with the house, the hospitality and the wonderful hosts making it all happen for us. I don't think they had done such a big wedding before but you would never have known. We would reccomend Chez Les Rois to anyone who wants a wedding that is a little bit different.

Paradise in the French Countryside comes with a Chef

Left on 09/21/2010 for a stay in July 2010

We brought my family of four plus an assortment of friends and other family members to the beautiful Chez Les Rois in July of 2010, We were a total of 11 people and the combination of House and Farmhouse made our time in the french country side truly enjoyable. The house was big enough we all could get together easily in one room for breakfast, dinner or just drinks. Or, we could retreat to our own rooms or one of the many ante-rooms for quiet time. We enjoyed the pools, walking to the patisserie, riding bikes and drinking wine. The kids had plenty to explore and the adults had plenty of places to be adults.
We used Chez Les Rois as our home base while we drove down to St. Emillion, Bordeaux, drove up to St Georges and it worked perfectly. Mike and Gail were always ready to help with great directions.
But the real reason you want to stay at Chez Les Rois is for the food. Chef Gail is a a fantastic chef and the meals we had their were extraordinary. They have a list to choose from and don't worry a bit- every meal we had was a delight. Make sure to order the Paella.
I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this place.
