Cwmllan is a detached, picture postcard, traditional cottage which nestles into the bank on a lane running through the wooded Gwaun Valley floor, a mile from the sleepy hamlet of Pontfaen. Largely unchanged this listed cottage dates back to the 18th century and has been simply furnished with some contemporary pieces. Step into the lounge/diner with an open fire in the original corner range and with large chimney breast and A frame beams. The galley style, rustic tile-floored kitchen, at the back, leads to the pretty double bedroom with French doors opening to the front and offering lovely views over the valley floor and steep wooded sides. St...eps from the back door lead up to the large, sloping and sheltered, lawned garden which enjoys the same wonderful rural views over the river, giving plenty of space for children to play and to enjoy an alfresco meal while you listen to the tinkling stream running down the hillside to one side of the cottage. A quirky childrens room, set in the eaves, completes the picture. The steep-sided, oak-clad Gwaun Valley creates a dreamy enchantment almost outside time. There are a wealth of walks to be enjoyed as footpaths crisscross this valley and the Preseli Hills - an area of unspoilt natural beauty. Ideal for keen cyclists being situated on the National cycle Network, route No. 82, which runs from Machynlleth to Aberystwyth then diverts inland via Lampeter to Fishguard. Conveniently placed to explore the coastal towns of Newport and Fishguard - both only a short drive away. A relaxing retreat for couples to step back in time all year round.
